How to get pocket healed by Mercy
By ☆K4r1z4wa_.
Mercy is a very valuable support in overwatch that due to her sacrifices she saves the game many times.
Some times though, Mercys can be seen behaving a little silly and weird not healing all the team members or pocketing someone for the whole game without giving attention to the other squad members. Why does this happen? What goes on behind a Mercy's reasoning?
This is not a guide on how to discipline Mercy though because it's almost impossible since their pride is bigger than themselves, but I'll give you some valuable advice on how to get her attention and pocket heal you if needed in 3 steps!

1. Respond to her advances

During the initial phase of the game, when the squad gets on accord on what type of team to build and what strategies to adopt, there might be 5 types of Mercys:

- The frozen,
they will NOT move or socialise with anyone and will start moving only when the game begins or they just straight up leave the game. You have no chance at getting pocket healed by them, so hope to be luckier in another game.

- The social butterflies,
they WILL approach everyone in the team and salute and emote at everyone. They crave attention, love, perhaps a new friend. At this point, if you want to get pocket healed, you need to respond to her advances. if she jumps around everywhere, you have to jump around with her, if she starts circling you, you have to take out the heart item to express your love towards them, otherwise they will lose interest and go to someone else. If they spam "Hello" all over again, you have to spam it too, or perhaps even some funny phrase and dance. In short, you have to match their freak.
If you fail with the trial, you will not get pocket healed and perhaps won't even get healed the whole game! But if you do manage to win their heart, you will have found a valuable friend as well.

- The NPC,
despite how hard u try to win this Mercy's attention, she WILL NOT give it to you! A metropolitan legend has it that they in fact are not human but bots created by Elon Musk to fill the empty servers.

- The fashionista,
You might even ignore her, but she will not. If you have a nice skin, your destiny is already written. Mercy will NOT let you be, and she will pocket heal you to keep your pretty ahh alive. you might ask her to stop, but she just can't do it since it's in her genes.

-The serious Mercy,
she pocket heals NO ONE but the tank when it barges in the enemy team alone, not even if you manage to entertain her the whole game. This will take us to the next step.
2. Make her stick t(h)ick

Once the game has started action has begun and you're in the heat of battle you have to prove yourself worthy of her!
These are some situations that most likely will get you some heals from her:

- Be tank
Mercys heal the tank almost 90% of the time as it is the one that is in front of the team the whole time shielding the mission of the squad. Be a good tank though, as if you barge in the enemy team alone and keep dieing and don't really prove to be able to help the team, they will abandon u.

- Be Genji
Mercys love Genji, especially when they take out the whole enemy team by themselves like a good sweat that they might probably be. Also, Genji needs healing all the time, it's not a case that she has a voiceline that says "So soon Genji?"
Therefore, Mercys feel the duty to pocket heal a Genji. Mind though, that if you don't make her stick tick or aren't able to prove your worth as a Ninja, she will not be as lovely. When in need of healing and spamming the "I need healing! +" voiceline, they might simply reply with a "No". They can be cruel.

- Protect them
In some games the enemy team's strategy is to attack the healers first by distracting the team and sending someone to sneakily get into the backlines of the other team and annihilate the support.
Protect the supports, and they will be grateful. Not always though.

- Spam "thank you"s
Spam thank you, each time you get res, each time you get healing, each time they boost you, each time they look at you, thank them even if you have nothing to thank them for. Some Mercys might notice your respect and deem you worthy of their pocket healing. Some might be cold hearted though.

-Simply ask them
Communication is key! If you specifically express that you might need pocket healing for your strategy, they might provide it to you easily! (Not always though)

Gentle reminder:
Some Mercys are DPS disguised as support. They might not even heal but focus on fighting just like the DPS or even better in some cases.
My advice: Don't trust them too much, don't try to convince them to pocket heal because their violent nature will never be tamed.
3. Befriend her

You can almost find a Mercy per game.
As I stated in the beginning, Mercys come in different ways and types, and it might not be to my knowledge yet, but there might actually be a way to conquer them all
What you can do though, is to befriend them!
Talk to them, become friends and ask them to play more often with you until you find the definitive Mercy that will provide you all the pocket healing you need.
In the end, getting a Mercy to pocket heal you is like dating.
And if you find the right one and keep her around, you will get all the healing and support needed, and perhaps even a life partner if that was meant to be fate.

Thanks for checking out my guide!
