Bugs techniques
  • If you don't know how to acquire them, bugs can be a real problem to fix the unhealthy islands.

So, i've found two may ways to farm them easily (for the most of them)
Types of Bugs that you can farm with these techniques
  • Ladybugs
  • Blue Beetles
  • Worms
I'm sorry but the ways to acquire different Butterflies are still a mystery to me (THE NEST HAS NOT BEEN ADDED YET)
and also the no-image bug. (IT'S THE BLUE BEETLE THAT HASN'T LOADED)
FIRST TIPS
  • (Works the best on the first islands) You can find a lot of tree stumps around the islands, just look on these and you might find Ladybugs. If you want to farm them, just wait a bit or sleep, they'll respawn. (It can also be Blue Beetles, but for me it was really rare and most of the time on the second biome islands.)

SECOND TIPS
  • Look on the field guide to see the different bugs available on the island. (The technique works the best with all the three above at the same time.)

  • Take out your spear and remove the grass, if you're lucky (each 3-4 times) you'll acquire a bug (can be multiple at the same time)

  • If you harvest back the grass (by just clicking with the spear on the dirt) and then remove it again, it's suppose to be able to give you again bugs. (so you can repeat it infinitely)[/list]
Other Bugs
You might see other bugs on the Field Guide like Butteflies (and also a bugged one without image), these are not available to capture yet, the net hasn't been added yet.
End
Now you will be able to easily heal all the islands without caring about the bugs :)

The blue-colored beetles that appear in the third biome are actually Horned Beetles (they should be purple -- this is a "bug" :p ). You can find a ton of them on the Fresco Island (the Adobe City), where you learn the blueprint for the Pottery Wheel.

To find the beetle in the third biome, use a dorkip on the ground. It doesn't appear on stumps like the earlier insects.

Also, there are butterflies in the third biome but I think that to catch them you need something which isn't yet in the game.

The purple rhinoceros beetles are only available in the third biome, Red Cliffs. Farm them in the usual way, using the Dorkip.

Also, I believe the Bee has been made applicable to all biomes as of 0.3.1.10 (that's what I read in the changelog -- I haven't been able to try the update yet)

Worms now drop from tilling soil if they're present on the island. Feels more or less like a 10% droprate.
I haven't seen any purple beetles around yet, so maybe they're not implemented yet

You can (rarely) find worms out in the open. They look like grey blobs, so you only know it's a worm when you pick it up.

Also if you fine a few burnt tree stumps on an island release a beetle, explore or leave for a moment and then return to harvest/pickup the spawned beetles.

Thank you for the guide! It was a lifesaver.

BTW, Blue beetles naturally spawn on charcoal stumps.
