I saw a thread where a user asked about strafe. And I came up with the idea to write a guide on how to properly peek.






1. First, let's figure out what a "PEEK" is
-A PEEK is a method of getting out from behind an obstacle.

Types of peeks:
I.The so-called "narrow"
II."Wide"
III.Using the squat function
IV."A peek to check"

What are the differences?
I."Narrow peek"-This is when the player's model comes out of the obstacle by half of the model. In CS GO, it was better to peek that way.

II."Wide peek"-This is when the player's model comes out from behind an obstacle a STEP or TWO (about 30-70 units) beyond the edge of the obstacle.

III.Using the squat function-This is when the player's model comes out from behind an obstacle and you click "squat" before stopping.

Differences between a "narrow" and a "wide" peek:
During a narrow peak, you need less time to explore the environment.
If you don't kill with the first bullet or hit in the head, they'll expect you to take another look. The enemy will set the sight at the level of your head and it will be easier for him to kill you.
To get a "narrow" look, you will cling to the obstacle, thereby reducing your early viewing angle, and increasing the opponent opposite.

Unlike "narrow" peeping, "wide" peeping has a number of advantages. Such as
a. Choosing the distance from an obstacle
b. Choosing the number of units for how far you will go out from behind the barrier
c. Approximate visibility of the initial angle


And now the advice
How and when is it right to peek?
In 70% of cases, I would recommend peeking "wide"

But if you are shooting with an opponent, and he comes up to an obstacle and starts peeping, then it is better to keep the same tactics. But if you are sure that you will shoot him, then, of course, wide
