DeltaMike's Workaround
DeltaMike's suggestion is to run the game at least once and let it blue screen, then apply the fix. It may not work when putting in the "fixing" folder in the game's directory on a fresh install.

1. Go to the file directory where DOI is installed. This can be done with the help of Steam. Right click on the game in your list of games, hover over Manage, then click Browse local files. This will take you to the game's directory on whatever drive you have it installed.

2. In the game's file directory, find the file named "BattlEye" and delete it.

3. Download the linked file https://www.thearmorymod.com/downloads/BattlEye-Fix-Win11.zip and open it. It will have a folder called "BattlEye". Extract the folder and drop it into dayofinfamy's file directory.

4. Do not launch Day of Infamy via Steam. Do not try to launch "dayofinfamy.exe_BE" from the directory either. Doing so will cause your computer to softlock, preventing normal shutdowns unless you force it, and eventually blue screen. What you should launch is "dayofinfamy.exe" or the program just called "dayofinfamy" in the game's directory. It should launch normally and enable you to play the game.
