The lore:

After the Second Impact, the world was left in a shattered state. Half of the global population had perished either during the impact or in the wars that followed. The year is now 2001, and the Valentine Ceasefire has been signed. Many of the world's governments have succumbed to political extremism and warlords.

In North America, nearly all nations have adopted nationalist ideologies, with the notable exception of "The Second Republic of Canada." South America has fallen under the control of juntas and extremist regimes, while Africa is now dominated by warlords, except for Libya, Egypt, and the UN intervention zone.

Europe is largely divided between "NATO" and the "European Union," leaving only a handful of independent nations. Most of the Middle East has been absorbed into the Islamic State. Russia teeters on the brink of civil war, and the People's Republic of China (PRC) has fractured into military-controlled and democratic states.

India and Pakistan deployed nuclear weapons against each other during the Second Impact, nearly obliterating themselves in the process.

Water levels have risen and the contaminated waters from the second impact are growing in concern, the world is on the verge of collapse.
