ALCo C628 Southwestern Reskin Pack

Description
SOUTHERN PACIFIC ROLL ON ROLL ON!!!!!! and mexico i guess. OFFICIALLY THE LAST US MOD OF 2024

"Jesse, JESSE. We need to drive!" - ALCo-berg

History
The C628 was Alco's first in its line of six-axle. Overall these behemoths were as powerful as they appeared, which is perhaps a reason why ALCo did not sell more of in the six-axle Century line. In any event, the C628 would prove to be Alco's most successful six-axle Century, selling nearly 200 units.

  • Southern Pacific, in need of additional high horsepower 6 axle road power, saw the C628s as a good send. They purchased 28 (including the demo!) units, making them one of the highest users of C628s. Assigned to heavy freights, they rumbled along until the mid 80s when their 251Fs were shut down for good.
  • Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México (better known as NdeM)or National Railways of Mexico was Mexico's state owned railroad company from 1938 to 1998. NdeM was one of the last purchasers of the C628s, buying them basically months right before ALCo shut it's doors in 1968. By the C628's retirement, they were rebuilt to C630s.
  • The Ferrocarril del Pacífico (FCP) was a railroad line company of Mexico that operated from Nogales, Sonora to Guadalajara, Jalisco via Mazatlán, Sinaloa that operated from 1960-1987, when it was absorbed into NdeM. FCP was one of the first purchasers, buying them in Apirl 1964 just weeks before another railroad in this mod purchased theirs! They were purchased in two lots, 1964 and 1968.
  • The Ferrocarril Chihuahua al Pacífico (CHP)is a major rail line in northwest Mexico, linking the city of Chihuahua to Los Mochis and its port, Topolobampo. It crosses the Sierra Madre Occidental, part of the range that in the United States is called the Rocky Mountains. Needing 6 axle road power themselves, they bought into the C628s early as well in December of 1966.

One more harsh thing.
You're American too, and yes, I think American hand-drawn mustaches are really weird. People like me are attracted to that, but beards are super weird.

thank you

If there is a hand-drawn picture that fascinates me like this, I will open the link.
You are good at winning people's hearts.
