Stephenson's Rocket 1829 | Early Experimental Steam Locomotive

Omschrijving
EARLY EXPERIMENTAL STEAM LCOCOMITVE "ROCKET" 1829

(Historical Recreation)
From Wikipedia:
"Stephenson's Rocket is an early steam locomotive of 0-2-2 wheel arrangement. It was built for and won the Rainhill Trials of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway (L&MR), held in October 1829 to show that improved locomotives would be more efficient than stationary steam engines.

Rocket was designed and built by Robert Stephenson in 1829, and built at the Forth Street Works of his company in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Though Rocket was by no means the first steam locomotive, it was the first to bring together several innovations to produce the most advanced locomotive of its day. It is the most famous example of an evolving design of locomotives by Stephenson that became the template for most steam engines in the following 150 years.

The locomotive was preserved and displayed in the Science Museum in London until 2018, after which it was briefly exhibited at various sites around the U.K. until it came to rest at the National Railway Museum in York. Since 2023, it has been based at the Locomotion Museum in Shildon."

SPECIFICATIONS

LENGTH: 7 Meters
WIDTH: 2.25 Meters Apparent Width, 3.25 Meters Actual Width
TOP SPEED: 35 MPH without carriages
FUEL CAPACITY: 108 Coal

FEATURES

-Simulated steam system
-A whole lot of moving parts
-Electric connector on the rear

HOW TO START/OPERATE

1. Fill up the firebox with coal
2. Light boiler
3. Once steam pressure is up, you're good to go
4. This loco does not have any brakes. To stop, you need to reverse the engine while moving, the Reversing switch is on the footplate.

NOTE: Though it can handle low physics, at least medium physics is recommended to reduce wobbling.

EXTRA NOTES

-I tried my best to get it as close to 1:1 as I could, though it's of course not perfect due to limitations.

-There are many invisible pivots and connectors and blocks in unexpected places, so the actual size of the whole build is significantly larger than what it seems. This won't be much of a problem in the normal game, but it could potentially be an issue if you're using addons/mods. Just press F2 to see the debug, and thus how large it actually is.

-I did intend to include appropriate carriages for the loco, but I quickly found I could not accurately make them at the correct scale.

-No, it's not actually steam powered, it's unfortunately too small for that, so it's simulated steam. No you don't need infinite electric.
