By Caliber-Calibur
The Arcade Hero Achievement may seem impossible, but with the right timing you can get it Solo.

Intro
After Ubisoft added Steam achievement support to Far Cry 5, many of us are hopping back in to finish the achievement grind and get that 100%. Unfortunately, FC5 includes several multiplayer achievements and one of them (big surprise) doesn't work as intended. The Arcade Hero achievement is very difficult and seemingly impossible to get. However, I was able to unlock it last night after several hours of trial and error. I'll share what I found out about this achievement as well as two methods for getting it. I'm going to explain the achievement but if you are already familiar skip to the bottom for my method.
Background Info
The Arcade Hero achievement says "Play the 'Arcade Hero' mode 5 times". By play it means complete a map. To complete an Arcade mode map you can either beat it (win) or die (lose); you don't need to be successful. You can do this in either Solo & Co-Op or Multiplayer in any order. The multiplayer requires 6 people to start a match and the chances of you finding a lobby naturally are basically impossible. The Solo & Co-Op version is just as difficult. Every map in the Hero playlist will either crash (back to main menu or crash your game entirely) or the map will be impossible to complete. The reason is due to how the Hero playlist works.

The Hero playlist randomly selects a map with no or a very low number of ratings (I don't know what the cutoff is and you can't see how many people have rated a map). The problem is the only maps left with a low number of ratings are maps that are impossible to complete. NOTE: If you are playing Hero and get a crash map send the crash log to Ubisoft. Also report the maps that can't be completed. I hope that if Ubisoft gets enough spam they will actually fix this.
Methods
Method 1 - Multiplayer:
If you have 5 other players (minimum of 6 total) you can head into the multiplayer Hero playlist and get the achievement that way. You'll need to coordinate ahead of time since no one plays that mode.

Method 2 - Solo & Co-Op:
This is how I got the achievement. When a map is first published it goes into the Hero playlist until it gets enough ratings. You just have to find one that has a low number of people who've played it and enter the Hero playlist until you get it (this may take a while but will work). First search the Solo and Co-Op maps by newest (you can do this online: https://far-cry-arcade.ubi.com/en-us/ ). Check the dates on the newest maps. If it wasn't posted the day you're searching or if they have a lot of people who've played the map don't try to enter the Hero playlist. If it was posted recently and has low played counts enter the Hero playlist and keep searching until you get the map (since the map it selects is random it's just a matter of trial and error). Once you get the map DO NOT back out. Simply die or complete the map. Then on the end screen select retry map. Do this 5 times. Also, please don't rate the map. The less people that rate the map the longer it stays in the Hero playlist for others.

I tried experimenting with publishing my own maps to get them into the Hero playlist but they all went into the Workshop category which don't show up in Hero. If anyone knows how to publish maps you could try adding a bunch of new maps and then entering the Hero playlist.

Just a reminder guys if you get Far Cry 1 titled map it's best to stick with that as it's shorter and does not crash.

I just kept trying.. after a number of crashes one map finally loaded it and I replayed it 5 times - seems they don't have to be distinct maps which is a bonus!

Make sure you play the maps through the Arcade Hero playlist and have it randomly select a map for you. If you play the maps from the map browser it will not count.

If you completed 5 maps in the Hero playlist and still didn't get the achievement it could be a bug on Ubisoft's end. Ubisoft's servers are notoriously buggy.

don't understand - i've played over ten maps now that were only published a day ago, both with play counts below 500, but the achievement didn't pop? they're literally the two most recent published maps too

an important note id like to add is, once you find a map and do the achievemenet, PLEASE DONT BE A D**K AND LIKE/DISLIKE THE MAP!

people are f**king dumb, they find a working map after hours of searching because there are not many working new maps, they get the achievement, they like/dislike it which then makes it gain enough votes so it gets taken out of arcade hero and thus other people cant find it anymore...

dont be a d**k and skip voting

Unlocked this achievement with the solo method after about an hour of the game repeatedly crashing, on the map "Shanath Withdrawal". Just keep replaying the map, if you can get it, and dying to the first soldiers ahead. Thanks for the guide!

After 3 hours of searching and crashing or getting troll maps I managed to get a map and got my achievement. Thank you for the guide!
