How to install mods in UNDERTALE

Have you got bored of undetale, but you still wanna play? Mods or fangames can be solution! Mods are addons to classic game, changing dialogues, gameplay or textures. Meanwhile fangames are all about other story that is connected to undertale. In this tutorial i'll show you how to:

Intro

Hi! undertale mods are pretty cool way to make game interesting again, implementing almost everytime funny twists, or changes in game itself. Theres one thing that you have to remember:

UNDERTALE Mods:

Undertale mods are used to modding files, causing thing already in-game to change. they won't add new character, but they can replace one with another. Example of mods:
"Undertale but frisk has gaster blaster"
"Undertale but its chat gpt generated"
"Undertale but its oneshot"

UNDERTALE fangames:

Undertale fangames are programs that wont modify your undertale game, and wont bring you some hours on steam. Usually they are focused on AU's (Alternate universes) or other timelines. Example of fangames:
"Dustbelief by Ari"
"Undertale: Yellow"
"Bad time trio"

Installing Delta Patcher/Data mod

Some of mods are using .xdelta file extension. Few of them have Deltapatcher already installed, but in other cases to launch them you need to install program called Delta Patcher. Heres safe link to

After installing and opening Deltapatcher you should see this (NOTE: Im on windows 11 so program look could look diffrent on windows 10 and older versions)

ORIGINAL FILE:

Go to your steam library, right-click on undertale, and select "browse local files". Find and select "Data.win" file as original file

XDelta PATCH:

Just select your mod, that has .xdelta extension

After that just click "apply patch" and if you've done everything correctly your undertale is modded!
(Example: Oneshot mod)

IF your mod is not an .xdelta file:

If your mod is not an .xdelta file, then it should be data file. Data files are easier to install, because to add them you need to go to your steam library, right-click on undertale, and select "browse local files". Find "Data.win" file, and replace it with the one from mod.

Downloading Mods

Okay. I know how to modify undertale. But where i can find mods? This section is all about that., to install safe mods its highly recommended to install those with has most of ratings, comments, downloads etc. This makes safer that, because many other players already played it, so its really small chance its a virus. Installing fangames

Okay, Now lets get to fangames. Fangames are diffrent programs, so they dont force you to browse in your Undertale files. I highly recommend downloading them from GameJolt, because theres most of mods location.

Some of fangames run on Create Your Frisk (CYF) program, for example Disbelief papyrus. If mod is requied to run on CYF, but it doesn't downloaded one, you have to download it from here:

How i installed a gun mod to undertale
1.find the mod
Downoald
2.open undertale file
3.find data file
4.raplace it whith the one in teh lod file
5.launch undertale
You should see a gun in your inventory
