"Battlefield Triage!" Achievement Guide

This guide covers the basics needed for getting the "Battlefield Triage!" achievement. This achievement can be a tricky one.

Getting the Achievement

Achievement name: "Battlefield Triage!"
Description: "Collect 10 Medicrates in Zombie level"

Getting this achievement usually takes 3-4hrs worth of playing Zombie mode. Access Zombie mode from the main menu. You need 10 medicrates in total. This can be done over an unlimited number of plays. Medicrates are the ones in wooden boxes that drop occasionally by airplane.

A random crate drops every 2-3 waves (starting after wave 4 or 5), medicrates are the least common drop. Health packs that randomly generate on the ground do not count, it has to be the wooden medicrate box that drop from planes.

-The game doesn't have Steam cloud so uninstalling it and reinstalling it (or playing from a different computer/operating system) resets your crates.
-You shouldn't collect the crate and then immediately end the level or die, it seems to work best to finish at least one more wave and then let yourself get killed.
-Always quit by going to the main menu first and then using exit.
-At first I made the common mistake where I was counting health packs that appear. You need to count only the wooden "a crate has arrived" health crate drops from planes.
-I was off in my counting initially and had reinstalled the game. In the end I ended up pressing F12 (screenshot) before grabbing each health crate so that I had proof for each one and could go back through my screenshots to double check the number I was at.
-It takes about an hour of gameplay for every 2 health crate drops successfully obtained. So this achievement sometimes takes up to 5hrs. Make sure not to uninstall your game either since there is no Steam cloud backup for your game save.

-@"Frank ain't nothin but trouble!" contributed this great tip:
"You can get one Airdrop per wave by having each round last long enough. The airdrop will happen after about 1 minute into the wave. Just kill everything but one of the basic slow zombies and then kite him until the airdrop happens."

Collect more than 10 medicrates and still no shit achievment...i follow all tips and rules! Achievment is bugged...great!

Sorry, this comes really late. But one more thing I recently observed in my case. The game obviously only saved the number of crates I found during a run when I got a new highscore. If I didn’t, quit to the menu and pressed exit, it didn’t save (I checked my files). But I found a solution for this. After finishing a run and going to the main menu, for example shortly enter the campaign screen, then go back and quit, then the game will save your new crates along with the other data. Worked in my case. I lost 4 crates due to the game obviously not saving, but when I used this workaround trick, the achievement popped exactly when taking the 10th saved (in my case 14th) crate.

Seems to be broken. I followed the guide precisely and collected 14 medicrates (wooden crates from airdrops) and still no achievment. Perhaps I have to be injured while picking them up? I have cut it up between sessions though so maybe I can't 'quit' the game.

Not connected to internet, we had a thunderstorm that knocked it out for about half a day.

Thanks for adding that. The comment may help some when they're having trouble. Was your steam in "offline mode" or just not currently connected to the internet?

Apparently it also counts the Medicrates u get when u play Offline too 'coz i'm pretty sure i didn't get 10 while online, but i was playing this offline when we were having issues with our internet connection.
Just thought i'd let u know.
