It would be good to have a trigger requiring you to take the Senator and the Pilot to the island, soas the whole story can happen because of the twist... Just watched the film myself again. They don't have that sort of imagination anymore. Plus, it was a 'Murica' flex during the height of the Cold War. Those were the days... As a kid, I didn't know what a Cold War was, just that we had to practise bomb drills at school in the 80's.

I expect someone to eventually add ww2 planes and ships (its almost inevitable I would be doing so if I had the skills) if that happens might you rework this mission for that

Sunk everything and just lost one F14 (that I shot down myself by firing a Sidewinder from BEHIND my own plane... Well...).

Thanks for making it. Now I know where not to look for the fleet. I knew they were north historically and kept trying to get up there, even though the scenario put the Nimitz way south.

The Japanese fleet is there. The Nimitz is heading in the general location of the Japanese fleet. I know that the location is off, but being historically accurate was not one of my priorities when making this scenario. Simply wanted to make a fun Final Countdown scenario.

I have something to add to this mod or adjust. I just watch the movie and got some screenshots. The position of the carrier is off, it kind of felt off when I played before I watched the movie.

The first screenshot shows CVN-68 (USS Nimitz) north west of the islands and heading NW.

You can also see the EC-2 and the orbit it has in all the screenshots, as it has surface radar.

Second screenshot, CVN-68 turns towards the fleet and heads NE to intercept.

I have not got to the end of the scenario, so I do not know if there is a Japanese fleet to come across.

Too bad the game does not have the ability to rescue survivors, that would be nice to have and rescue the survivors of the Yacht. I believe Jane's Fleet Command you could rescue down pilots with the carrier helos, hopeful the Devs will add that feature someday.
