Changelog:
- v1.1: Improved clarity on the two modes in the opening title. Remaining game stays untouched.
- v1.2: Fixed the background not scrolling horizontally, changed the jumping sound to be less egregious over time, and also made the win condition an OR rather than AND statement.

-----------------------------------

What is Sonic at its core? A jump-and-run. So, why not create a Sonic game where you do nothing but jump and run... for eight hours straight?

Presenting the hack nobody asked for, inspired by the game nobody asked for. Desert Bus is a "mini" game originally released as part of Penn & Teller's Smoke & Mirrors (an unreleased Sega CD game) in which you drive a bus to Las Vegas through the desert IN REAL TIME. That's eight hours of uninterrupted gameplay to earn a single point, with the bus deliberately steering itself to the right to keep you from cheating.

Translating this to a Sonic game turned out to be simpler than I expected, aside from the surreal scenery, which I admit was quickly thrown together from Scrap Brain Zone assets because I was too lazy to draw an actual desert. :V

Music: Mega Man X3 – Intro Stage (lifted straight from Sonic ERaZor because it was already the perfect song to set the ambience lol)

And for the cool people who actually read the whole description, here's a secret: Hold ABC as you press Start on the opening disclaimer screen to turn the game into eight MINUTES instead of hours! Just make sure you reach at least 360 miles before time over. It's a bit more reasonable than the full eight hours but still insanely mind numbing, trust me.
