It's the end of the 7th century, Europe is in turmoil.
Yet there is hope to bring back stability.
Protect the Saxons and Frisians against the Francs.
Keep the Roman empire and Visigothic kingdom from collapsing.

Or fight for domination over Ireland scotland and england

As it is important to give the ancient religions their flavor Polytheism reborn (Lite) will be required.

the pope doesnt go 'elsewhere' if you leave him landless, if you have him hold the papacy title and define it as being a vassal of the byzantines then he not only stays in rome, but stays as a vassal, not much different from the ecumenical patriarch in vanilla

-pope was in rome, I can't leave him in rome without any title, would mean he would go landless somewhere else

-Thrakesion is a duchy and Ephesos too so that's part of the journey to a kingdom title
there are as far as I know no real sources over who ruled which themes.

-I don't share the idea of Ravenna/Romagne, adding kingdom titles now is not in line with vanilla.
If I do that, I need to add all kingdom titles under the roman empire, that would mean almost nothing to do except rebuilding the empire etc. Yes in reality all exarchates still existed
even the African one as the romans only lost carthago a bit before the bookmark.

-Tangiers was already umayyad a few years before start of bookmark
-For central greece it's only possible to give thessaliotis and that is as far as I can go.
-Capua is indeed benevento territory
-Themes are the only way to group the grant amount of counts and isn't realistic in game
it would give way to much rebellions and fun would be gone before anyone knows.
So unless there are historical sources I leave it as it is for now, except for the errors where characters have territory in another duchy somewhere far from their own.

-Umayyad borders let alone rulers aren't finished it's an alpha a pretty early alpha

well, here is a couple things about the Byzantines (that's all i really know about this time period)
-there would be a lot less themes by this time:
-Armeniac should own all of Chaldia, Sebasteia and Charsianon
-Opsikion should have all of Optimatoi, Boukellarion and Paphlagonia
-Anatolikon should own Kappadokia
-Thrakesion should Control Ephesos

I suggest to not change the de-jure though

-All of the mainland italian states should be owned by the kingdom of Romagna (renamed to Ravenna when held by a greek)
-Cilicia would be arab already by this point
-The Byzantines own far too much of central Greece, I'm guessing you did that for the same reason Ravenna and Rome aren't connected
-They should own Tangiers
-Already talked about Capua
-The Pope shouldn't own any land directly by this point
-A bunch of vassals and sub-vassals are feudal when they should be administrative

I can't connect those two parts as ck3 hasn't the territory on the map, so it would mean taking
historical territory from either from the lombard kingdom or spolleto wont change that for now..

I need to check the napels capua part though

im pretty sure that the byzantine territories in ravenna and rome should be connected, also i dont think they owned capua at this point, just naples

Ow I get what you mean with that doctrines have no impact, that was intended as not everyone wanted the modifiers, let me get the link for you, this mod re adds the modifiers for the doctrines

You mean the part where titles become dejure of the historical titles like carthage ?

Yeah i understand, i just prefer the way that Paganism plus has it handled, tohugh it has some errors, and im currently using polytheism for a new save, and it seems they added a bunch of stuff, i just wish all the doctrines the polytheism had an actual impact, and my favourite religion, kemetism, it only has 4 holy sites(and one doesnt do anything) in polytheism. another is how the title creation works, ive had it split kingdom titles when it remakes a historical title(kingdom of carthage, and the gual kingdoms specifically)
