Buildable Items

Description
This mod allows you to build items just like furniture in your own buildings and enables you to create the same environments like you see in buildings around the world of Kenshi. Give character to the interior of your buildings and make them more interesting to look inside.

INFO
There's a mod in the Workshop, that is simular to mine called the Clutter Mod:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1783761373

The Clutter Mod offers more variety in items than my mod, but those items will only be accessable after research, while my mod allows you build items without research. You should be able to subscribe to both mods without any issues. I just wanted to mention it, since they were the first ones to bring it out and people (like myself) might miss it.

What do you get with this mod?
  • Get access to up to 740 new buildings.
  • Build almost every item, that is avaiable in this world! Food, drinks, materials, weapons and clothing!
  • Display meele weapons of all kind and in each quality. From Rusty Chunk to legendary Meitou grade!

Do I have to research those buildings or buy construction plans?
No! All decorative, buildable items are available from the start. No research, no paying.

Do I need materials to build those buildings?
No! All buildings are for free and will be build instandly.

Do I have to work with the ingame mod tools?
It's not necessary, but do to collision and other restrictions that will be explained later you should use it, if you want to position the items more precise for instance on shelves. Make sure to inform yourself how to use the tool, before using it.

Will this mod conflict with other mods?
No idea. Technically it shouldn't, but I have to wait for the first reports on this behaviour to be sure.

Do I need other mods to run this mod?
No, this mod only needs the base game to run.

Known issues
  • Some items aren't available. Either because of a missing mesh in game, problems to display the building right or coloring issues. For instance shirt items like Leather Shirts, Cloth Shirts, Chainmail and Chainshirts don't have a mesh file. Riceweed and Cotton have display problems and look like garbage. Especially Riceweed looks like it's from the 4th dimension and only parts of it show up in our 3D plain. Also some clothes are just recolored versions of other cloths, that need a color map to be created, something buildings don't use. Maybe I look deeper in those issues, create own textures and meshs to counter that, but this is not a promise.

  • Because of the way building works in Kenshi you are only able to rotate buildings on one angle, which is sadly quite restricting, especially if it comes to placing weapons. In this case the mod tool is the only option to achieve more freedom while placing.

  • The models of some items like weapons seem to be stuck in the ground, while other items like hats are hovering over the ground. It should be fixable, but since I expect people to work with the mod tool anyway and even think that in some cases like clothes the hovering helps, I didn't bother to fix it. If enough people are annoyed by it, I might change it tho.

If you found some issues, some items are missing, you found some spelling mistakes or something is bothering you then feel free to send a message or leave a comment.

Have fun.

Maybe you unbind the game editor or it's binded under another key combination. Go into options, go to controls and scroll down until you're in the tools section. Check if you binded "Toggle game editor" under Shift+F12.

My guy, im searching for this like 2 hours but i can't find any solutions. The Shift+F12 thing is not working for me. When i press the buttons it does not makes anything at all. Do you know anything about how can i open the editor?

You can't really build on shelves or tables. You need to build it on the ground first and then move it with the ingame mod tool. Build the item you want on the ground, press Shift + F12, click on the item, move it with the help of the arrows shown on and then close the mod tool with Shift + F12 again.

I only made one mod for Kenshi. The two others are for Rimworld and Garry's Mod. Maybe you still have the Kenshi filter on?

Odd I'm not seeing any other mods released by you? Do you have it hidden?

Haha good to know that I'm atleast not alone with that :D Nah but I will keep this one up for the people who already subscribed to it and if new ones see this one, they have the link to the original and can decide for themself which one they want to subscribe to. Besides it was a nice learning opportunity in modding and script writing and it kept me busy for a few days. Also thanks for subscribing to my mystical prosthetics mod :D hope you have fun.
