NEW Way to Farm Gold Material! v 1.4 and higher

The fastest, cheapest, most brain dead way to farm all the precious gold you need by the endgame.

Gold and what you need it for

Gold is a material used for several shard upgrades and weapons throughout the game. Unlike most materials, there are no monsters that directly drop it, it's rather time consuming and expensive to transmute it, and breaking down Ayamer weapons for it cost 12,000 gold worth of Alkahest to extract even one portion of it for the absolute tons of gold material you need to get the best endgame weapons and several shards fully upgraded. Fortunately, there is a bit of an oversight I found to roll the dice for a low chance at getting a portion of Gold, but rolling it 20-30 times in a single minute!

The Process

To begin, it's important to repeat, this is a fairly endgame method. By endgame, I mean this process opens up once you reach the Den of Behemoths for the first time. Once you reach that area, another area opens up that isn't well announced. Once you get to this point and said your goodbyes to Alfred, turn away from your primary quest and bring your attention back to the Hidden Desert, around the area where you fought him.


You should notice in the bottom chamber, there is a symbol that wasn't there before. Enter the room, walk around the spire, and collect and take note of the blue chest you find. Spoiler alert, we will be abusing the absolute Hell out of this chest.


Going a bit further up, you will discover...


Ok, I don't know what this thing actually is, but what it functions as is a transition to another area from the Hidden Desert to...


This area is known as The Tunnels. It's a reference to a 2012 game called Journey, and it's full of more chests worth picking up and elementals worth killing, but later. We don't really care about the area itself, but that it's a transition to another area. Because it's a transition, that means the blue chests in the Hidden Desert have been replenished! Just hit up to leave, move a short distance to the chest, and recollect it to find... Probably not Gold, as there is only a low chance to find it in any one chest in the Hidden Desert. That said, we aren't going to check this chest once, but multiple times! Go back and forth between The Tunnels and Hidden Desert, and eventually...


Use the power of the Accelerator Shard to boost back and forth, and you will be able to hit this chest 20-30 times in a minute, and you will get all the previously unreasonable Gold Material you need in a rather reasonable amount of time. No tedious routes through the desert, no spending hundreds of thousands in Alkahest, and certainly no making 10 Dark Matters for ONE Gold Material! Enjoy!
