Southern Victory: The Great War

Description
Smarting from two defeats at the hands of the Confederate States of America—who were allied with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, as well as the French Third Republic—the United States sought an alliance with the rising German Empire. The U.S. military was restructured along German lines, and the Republican Party, once led by Abraham Lincoln, collapsed under the weight of these defeats. Discredited, the party's downfall left the Democratic Party and the Socialist Party—whose growth was fueled by Lincoln and his supporters defecting to the Socialists—as the dominant political forces in the United States.

When the Great War erupted in Europe in 1914, both the USA and CSA quickly joined the conflict, siding with their respective allies. The U.S. found itself engaged in a two-front war, battling Canada to the north and the CSA to the south. In the east, the fighting quickly devolved into brutal trench warfare, while in the west, the battle lines remained more fluid.
