More Capacity for Inventory (fka Limitless Inventory)

Kuvaus
[B41]:
With this mod, you can freely adjust your inventory's max capacity, which is set to 50 kg by default, and the base inventory capacity, to virtually any value you desire.

While this may sound like a cheat mod, you can also use it to create a more challenging gameplay experience. For instance, you can set the base capacity to a value below the game default, such as 5, and the max weight to something like 15. (With such settings, you won’t even be able to pick up a TV while wearing clothes!)

Although there are many mods available for increasing carry weight, none (as far as I know) allow you to adjust the 50 kg max weight limit. This mod allows you to change both:

  • Base Inventory Capacity: Adjustable between 5 and 10,000, overriding the vanilla game's default of 20 or less (which depends on factors like strength, hunger, etc.).

  • Max Allowable Weight: Adjustable between 15 and 30,000.

But, FYI, although this mod itself doesn’t affect performance, carrying too many items (how many is "too many" depends on your PC's performance) can cause problems due to how the vanilla game engine handles item searches.

Potential issues include:

  • Vehicle performance: Cars behave based on the total weight you’re carrying, so an extremely heavy inventory will slow your vehicle and worsen handling.

  • Game lag: Carrying a massive inventory may reduce FPS, increase the time it takes for pop-up menus to load, or cause significant delays when opening menus like the first aid menu.

This mod works for both existing saves and new games, and doesn’t impact performance.

If you use mods like "Change Sandbox Options," you can adjust inventory capacity mid-game. However, you’ll need to restart the game for changes to take effect.

[B42]:
In Build 42, this mod is limited by the game engine, which caps the max capacity of all containers, including inventory, at 100. Any sandbox option values set above 100 will default to 100.

  • Base Inventory Capacity: Maximum 60.

  • Max Inventory Capacity: Maximum 100.

This limitation is due to changes introduced in Build 42.

Note: If you want a higher maximum capacity, please disable this mod and subscribe to my new mod, Carry Even More! [B42] - Expanded Inventory Capacity: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3408066578.
With this new mod, you can carry up to 30,000.

does this untie the extra capacity from perks, such as strong or organized or added onto of the base number you set..

I have to say, I REALLY hope that they revert the 100 max capacity thing before B42 releases in full, it's... really frustrating.

Just wanted to thank you so much for this. I've been looking for something like this which allows me to adjust the base inventory capacity according to how I want it to be. Its made the game so much better for me~

I have been searching high and low for something like this, and finally, here it is. It works perfectly so far, even on an existing MP server. I needed something to help offset the higher weight that some new bags provide in various mods and to compensate for the heavier clothes. Rather than messing with item weights, I hoped to simply adjust the inventory capacity without it granting +20 like every other mod I tried! This fine-tuned it perfectly. This mod needs more attention!

@The Ozzie Jedi Can you share your logs.zip file located in C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Zomboid? You can use any file-sharing website of your choice, or a temporary one like limewire.com , for example.

@The Ozzie Jedi Have you verified the integrity of the game files through Steam?

@Jaelee1111 - Still no joy. I made sure to only use this mod and disable all others, only have this mod loaded in the mods tab as well. It just doesn't want to work for me. I am definitely running B41 since it says welcome to B41 when I load the game. So I'm a little lost at this point.
