USRA Heavy Pacific 4-6-2

Description
Thank you so much to Lskeetskeet, TheIntern, and Kilroy for their fantastic screenshots!

Chonky Pacific

Hello folks, and welcome back to the USRA era! Today we have a heavier passenger locomotive! The 4-6-2 heavy Pacific!

READ THIS PLEASE!!!!
As a heads up folks, you will find this locomotive in your buy menu under "multiple unit" under the steam category. The reason you see it under the multiple unit category is the Random numbers mod. In order for it to work the locomotive must have a cargo space. That cargo is 1 passenger. So no, you are not crazy if you see this on your freight trains. This is the workaround for getting the random numbers to work. Honestly well worth it! Normally I'd say you must have a dependent mod active for the random numbers to work, but Meatballhero has allowed me to include the files! No dependents necessary for this one! Also you may want to set a max timer for your trains you want to sit and wait for full at stations.

Slight history

During the first world war the federal government enacted the USRA as an experiment to nationalize the railroads during a wartime emergency. This lasted from December of 1917 to March of 1920. They introduced standardized locomotive and rail car classes known as the USRA Standard.
Changes occurred quickly as once President Wilson issued the order for nationalization. All the railroads were organized into 3 divisions, East, West, and South. A reduction in passenger service occurred to help with decongestion of freight. The current number of locomotives and rolling stock was augmented by new production of up-to-date and standardized types/designed to be the best that could be produced to replace outdated equipment.

These locomotives are great express passenger service!

Whats next

This one like the Light Santa Fe has been sitting for a bit while I worked on other projects. namely the NH R series and the C&O J2's... This clears my backlog. So I moved my modding schedule around a bit as I didn't actually have these set to come out so soon. While this clears me out I have other projects ongoing. So what's in the shop? The Florida East Coast Class 801 Mountain, and the Heavy Santa Fe. From there the B&O P5 & P7 and Southern PS-4.... at least that is my intention. There may be a few more usra based locos, but undecided. I'm really starting to irk and want to move onto my Turn of the Century Alco pack that I wanted to do almost 2 years ago... I'll get there at somepoint and maybe for the next game. We shall see.

The USRA locomotives are also ones in which if you simply google USRA and the type of locomotive you get so many hits on model locomotives. So if you are wanting to reskin these into your own road you can ask me on the TPF American Modding discord for the PSD's and create a dependent mod if you wish for the community.

HEADS UP-

From this point, please understand that my mods are rather heavy in poly count. Sorry I enjoy the detail. I put a lot of effort into these, to make them as best I can to be enjoyed. Sorry if you don't have enough disk space or computer power to run these. The models have LOD's on them to help reduce poly count as you zoom out.

Also in regards to screen shots. About 95% of the time friends take the screenshots for me. So any questions regarding them is best directed toward them at the discord below.

I heard of that kind 3d software, that's why I'm going to take 3d modeling classes this year to learn how 3d modeling works.

Oh, so there are USRA 0-6-0's switchers?
Neighbor Kid  [author] Oct 6, 2024 @ 6:17pm
the switchers are not being done unless the next game gives a reason for them

You better not forget the smaller (and larger two) ones.

I guess that's me in the first photo. I wonder if the 21st photo is from when he was in prison? Well, of course, there are no people reflected in the image.
And is the current photo the 8th photo in the "CNJ Blue Comet Train Set"?
To be honest, I'm not that knowledgeable about steam locomotives, so I don't know the difference between the individual steam locomotives, but they are certainly cool. Thank you.
