How to survive: Bracken

This is a simple guide that explains the behavior of the Bracken and how to avoid him.

There is debate on the genus to which the Bracken belongs. It is a bipedal vertebrate with skin the color and texture of a red beet. The name is coined for what appear to be leaves protruding from its upper spine. The purpose of these is believed to be for intimidation, however not much is known about the specifics of bracken behavior due to its elusiveness and low population.
We know a little from accounts by wildlife experts who have encountered it. It is a lone hunter with high intelligence. Its behavior can seem aloof; it exhibits high aggression even when unprovoked, yet quickly backs off when confronted. However, brackens are known to up their hostility when cornered or simply watched for a long time. It's theorized that upon death their bodies undergo a rapid decomposition process which is unique from other large animals.

Bracken Behavior & How To Avoid

ORIENTATION & BASICS

If you find yourself in a yellow room with tapestry and a yellow carpet on the floor, similar to the backrooms...

Then you may be dead! Not really. A lot of people are misinformed about this and think that Brackens will 100% spawn if this room is in the facility, which, by the way, is called "Bracken Rooms." Well, this chance is misleading! Their chance of spawning does NOT increase if these rooms are in the facility. They are normal rooms. However, if these rooms exist in the facility and there is a Bracken, that will be the "favorite place" of the Bracken. The favorite place of a Bracken is a concept I’ll explain later.

The Bracken has a simple but deadly concept. He sneaks up behind you silently. And If you try to look back while he is technically touching your back, it will kill you. It's usually right behind you, and turning around at that exact moment will be your last mistake.

AVOIDING & PHASES

But, To spot it safely, you need to run forward a bit, then quickly glance behind you.

When you do, the Bracken will run away. But if you keep staring at it, it'll get angry and chase you, making rustling leaves sounds and a "roar." When that happens, run for your life! Get out of there, and lose sight of him. Or you can also run and run, In one moment his anger metter will decrease and he will calm. Then he will restart to Phase 1 and will start to "stalk" you again.

Now, About the chasing part. To avoid getting chased, just follow my instructions. If you need to look back to check if the bracken is stalking you, run forward a bit first, or you may get your neck snapped, then check behind you. If the Bracken is there, it will run away. Stare at it for a couple of seconds, no more than two if you don't wanna fricking die, then turn around and mind your own business. The only worry is the Quota, You work for the company, after all.

ANNIHILATION

This Bracken can be killed, but don't try it unless you have a shotgun or a whole team of experienced crewmates with shovels. Otherwise, You'll look like a fool swinging a shovel at a 2-meter-tall anthropomorphic creature. They'll also enter in Aggro mode if you hit them one time, If you kill them once, The Bracken will not spawn no longer. Still, don't worry too much, they aren't that big of a deal if you're smart. Be intelligent, you dumb employee.

TIPS

It's eyes are visible in the dark, so if you see them, What the hell are you doing?! Stop looking at that eyes and get away from there.

If the Bracken kills you, it will drag your body to it's "favorite place." The Bracken love places far from the entrance, They’ll take the bodies to the "Bracken Rooms", If there's one in the facility, Of course. Those rooms are the ones I talked about at the start, The rooms with tapestry that resemble the backrooms. So, before you get killed, make sure to tell your friends you're about to get your neck snapped and taken away by a Bracken. That way, they can enjoy the sound of your pleasant and loud scream over the walkie-talkie. If they have a teleporter, They can retrieve your body. or if they love you that much, They can try to find your body in the facility.

EXTRA

ATTENTION
Brackens are very sneaky and possess highly intelligent AI, making them difficult to spot. They can even hide around corners, preventing you from seeing them. They'll also hide in upper rooms, waiting for you to pass through the room so they can continue sneaking up on you.

- Door Opening Speed: 0.8s (It's recommended to ALWAYS close doors behind you so you can hear the sound of the Bracken opening the door)

- Shotgun HP: 1 shot to kill

Behavior
- Sneaking: Stalks or sneaks behind you to get close enough and snap your neck.
- Evading: Runs away when a player spots it.
- Threatening: Brackens have an anger meter. If you stare at them for too long, they will charge at you and attempt to snap your neck. You can escape if they lose sight of you or if the bracken's anger meter slowly decreases as their anger 'bar' is slowly decreasing. This stage is also often called "Aggro". And they will stop this phase when their anger meter/bar depletes.

Tips
The Bracken can be stunned for 1.88 seconds with a stun grenade. It can also be stunned for a very short time with the zap-gun. And he can also be slowed down with the Radar-Booster, but the effect is nearly significant.
