- Toilet Formula (Rare) added to game (10.17.24)
1. Introduction
In Once Human, furniture formulas are essential blueprints that allow players to learn how to craft a variety of furniture and decorative items to enhance their houses in-game. These formulas come in different rarities and types, enabling players to create everything from basic furnishings to more intricate designs. Acquiring furniture formulas is crucial for progressing in the game, as they not only contribute to base aesthetics but also provide practical benefits, such as improved resource management and increased player comfort. Farming furniture formulas is one of the few long term goals/grinds in the game so it is important to understand how to do it efficiently.

Tip: If you're new to formula farming, Once Human, or haven't explored all of these areas before be sure to spam your Q button while you're running these routes so you don't miss anything! Keep in mind pressing Q only shows certain containers (weapon/gear crates) through walls so make sure you fully explore the rooms in all the areas you're looting.
2. Formula Types
One-Time Use Furniture (Facilities): These can be used to create temporary furniture pieces or "facilities" that serve specific purposes but cannot be reused after their initial placement unless picked up again. Finding these does not allow you to craft more of them like formulas do.

Common Formulas (white): These are the most basic blueprints, easily found and worth the least amount of fragments (1). They include simple furniture and decorations.

Uncommon Formulas (green): Slightly harder to find, these formulas offer more variety and may include more functional items worth (3) fragments.

Rare Formulas (blue): These blueprints are less frequently found and often include more advanced furniture that may offer additional benefits or increased aesthetics. These are worth (10) fragments.

Epic Formulas (purple): Unlike other formula types, epic blueprints must be obtained through gambling at the designer workbench using either 6 or 15 fragments or traded among players. These blueprints feature unique designs and are extremely rare, making them highly sought after. These are worth (30) fragments.

Note: The wall/floor print rarities follow these same guidelines and are worth the same values.
3. Container Types

Small dressers (cabinets) - These containers generally provide decoration formulas such as vines, clocks, paintings, and wallpaper/floor prints.

Tables (cabinets) - These containers are variants of cabinets and generally also provide decoration formulas similar to the small dressers.

Green Dumpsters (trash can's) - These containers generally provide couch or chair formulas but can sometimes contain generic formulas or other rare formulas as well.

Yellow Recycle Bins (trash can variant) - These containers can also provide couch or chair formulas but can also contain decorative formulas.

Trash Bin - These containers generally can provide decorative formulas similar to small dressers.

Big Kitchen Cabinets - These containers are generally considered the best chance of obtaining rare formulas like tables or metal shelves but can also contain prints among other formulas.

Metal Cabinet (cabinet variant) - Generally can contain generic formulas.

Storage Crate - These containers can contain any furniture formula in the game (besides epics) making them well worth opening.

Storage Crate (variant) - These containers can also contain formulas, generally generic ones depending on your luck.
4. Best Farming Route
Main Route: Blackfell -> Grandma's Diner -> Graveyard -> Clifton -> Pollution Refinery

Note: You can approach this route in any order you choose but it is generally always best to start with Blackfell.

Map Overview:

Blackfell (4079.36,-1471.14) serves as the optimal starting point for farming routes in Once Human due to its strategic location and abundance of lootable containers. As one of the first major areas players encounter, it offers a variety of container types that yield furniture/print formulas. The area is densely populated with cabinets, dumpsters, and other loot sources, providing a reliable and efficient way to gather resources early on. Additionally, Blackfell’s layout allows for quick navigation to adjacent regions, making it a popular choice for both new and experienced players looking to maximize their farming efficiency. Its popularity stems from the combination of accessibility, diverse loot options, and the potential for high returns on each run.
Note: Due to the high density of loot in Blackfell it is generally a good idea to teleport home and breakdown and stash any materials after this initial stop to make room for more materials you will pickup.

Grandma Nina's Diner (971.73,-5879.89) is a key stop on any efficient furniture formula farming route in Once Human. The diner is known for its medium high concentration of lootable containers, particularly kitchen cabinets and dumpsters, which are prime sources for high-quality formulas. While smaller in size than other farming spots, the diner’s dense layout allows for quick and thorough looting, making it a valuable target for both new and experienced players. Its proximity to other loot-rich areas also ensures a seamless continuation of farming routes, helping players maximize their formula collection and overall efficiency on each run.

Ship Graveyard (3923.40,-7642.54) is another essential location on a well-planned furniture formula farming route in Once Human. Known for its eerie atmosphere, this area offers a wealth of lootable containers, including storage crates, cabinets, and other hidden caches, making it an ideal spot for collecting additional furniture formulas.

Clifton (6862.38,-2790.01) is a crucial stop in the Once Human furniture formula farming route, known for its large number of accessible loot containers and its mix of urban and industrial environments. This area is packed with cabinets, storage units, and dumpsters that frequently yield valuable formulas. Clifton’s spread-out layout might require more time to cover, but the potential for high returns makes it worth the effort. Its diverse range of loot sources, including rare formula drops, makes Clifton a vital part of any farming route. For players aiming to maximize their formula collection, Clifton serves as a high-reward location that complements the efficiency of the overall route. Just be warned, Clifton has one of the highest density areas of enemies so come prepared.

Refinery Pollution Plant (5249.05,-3679.33) is a high-value location on any furniture formula farming route in Once Human. Known for its industrial setting, the refinery is packed with large storage containers, cabinets, and a significant number of dumpsters, all offering solid chances of yielding both common and rare formulas. While its layout can be more complex and challenging to navigate compared to other stops, the abundance of lootable areas and potential for high-quality drops make it an essential destination for experienced players.

Note: This full route should net you well over 120+ containers.

Bonus POI's:
1. Evergreen Vineyard (1397, -3283 Chalk Peak)
2. Shoal Park (6263, -4295 Iron River)
3. Throughville (6372, -5188 Dayton Wetlands)
4. Unnamed POI (1192, -3812 Chalk Peak) (Copy of Graveyard, East of Securement Silo Alpha)
5. Refinery Pollution Plant Bunker (5430, -3751 Iron River) (East of the lower half of Refinery Pollution) This bunker contains extra cabinets as well as Recycle bins which could net you extra formulas
6. Holt Town (3791, -4450 Chalk Peak) This town has buildings with various cabinets, kitchen cabinets. Only worth the time if you've exhausted all other options.
7. It's also worth mentioning that Silo PHI and Silo Alpha can provide decent odds of finding formulas as well. While not as consistent as running these full routes some players report finding rare formulas in these silos.

If it is easier for you to follow along with a video this will cover a majority of the route described above:

Tip: If you are having trouble finding any of the named locations of this loot route while in-game press M > press X > press D > Then in the search bar type the name of the POI.
5. Average Returns Per Run
On a good run, players can typically expect to find a total of around 7 to 9 furniture formulas, facilities, or prints (total combined) depending on your RNG. On a average run you might expect a lower yield (around 3-4) or less. Most of these formulas are generic and worth a single fragment each, while rare formulas can also be found in the world. However, higher-tier epic blueprints must be obtained through gambling at the designer workbench using 6 or 15 fragments rather than being found directly in loot. Just keep in mind that not every single run will yield maximum formulas or sometimes few or none at all due to the RNG nature of the game as well as the potential soft cap in the game.
6. Formula Soft Caps/Loot Resets
A soft cap indicates a daily threshold where the probability of obtaining additional furniture formulas drops significantly, although players can still find them. This mechanic seems to be tied to a "luck" system, where initial runs yield higher drop rates. Players often theorize that after collecting around 7 to 9 formulas, luck diminishes dramatically (though this is unconfirmed by developers), leading to fewer valuable finds in subsequent runs.

Loot resets occur approximately every 4 hours, typically at the following times: 12 AM, 4 AM, 8 AM, 12 PM, 4 PM, and 8 PM (server time). Generally, after around 2 resets or 2 runs of the full formula route, you’ll start to see diminishing returns. A clear sign you've hit the soft cap is thoroughly looting all main buildings in Blackfell/Nina's without receiving new formulas or facilities (one-time use furniture pieces). If, after a formula run, you find no additional items dropping, it's likely you've reached your daily soft cap. This experience often leads to players feeling that their luck has run out, reinforcing the importance of waiting till the next day before attempting another run. By recognizing these signs you can minimize wasting time. One theory is that this mechanic is in the game for the purposes of balancing the formula economy and increasing player retention.

Note:
Players also theorize that after hitting the soft cap, waiting anywhere from 24 to 48 hours can dramatically boost your luck, allowing you to approach your next loot runs with fresh chances of obtaining the most formulas and potentially more rare ones.

7. Designer Workbench Overview

The Designer Workbench is a crucial feature in Once Human for formula farming, enabling players to gamble (6) formula fragments by disassembling duplicate formulas you discover for the ability to receive (1) random formula from the entire formula loot pool in the game, which includes all rarities and prints—common, uncommon, rare, and epic. The (15)-fragment option, on the other hand, eliminates the chance of receiving any common rolls, focusing on higher rarity formulas guaranteeing at minimum uncommon formulas. While the 6-fragment rolls generally yield a greater number of formulas or potentially more fragments, players specifically targeting uncommon formulas or higher may prefer the 15-fragment option. However, community feedback has been mixed, with many players disappointed in the results of the 15-fragment rolls, while others report more luck. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on what is more important to you: quantity or quality.

Note: I do not believe it is possible to obtain any of the paid or monetized formulas in the game either via looting or through the Designer Workbench.
8. Alternate Methods to Obtaining Formulas

NPC Vendors:
One of the easiest ways to initially obtain new formulas or prints when playing Once Human is by going to all the different NPC Vendors at Blackfell, Greywater Camp, Deadsville, Meyer's Market and Tall Grass Inn and purchasing them directly by using EL. This is a great early game method of at least having some different options to work with.

Season Shop:
Another method to obtain new formulas or prints is by hitting ESC while in-game, clicking the banner in the top right and going to the season goals tab. From there you want to go into the Season Shop where you can purchase various prints and formulas with starchrom.

Toy Formulas:
After each wipe in Once Human, if you've already collected all the Toy Formulas on the map you can go back through the map and recollect them. There is one of the best ways early in a wipe to get fragments. Each toy formula is worth (10) fragments each, for a total of (90) fragments for all 9 toy formulas. You can either use Map Genie to find these or the video provided below:

Treasure Chests:
Some of the treasure chests on the map in Once Human contain decoration formulas. Various neon signs, etc. The best way to find these is using map genie, hide everything on the map except for treasure chests and start hunting!

Season Events/Mistuko Marks:
Sometimes during the various events in Once Human some of the rewards include furniture formulas. You can also use mitsuko marks to purchase territory decor like the manibus statue.

Territory Bundles:
The only other way to obtain furniture or print formulas in Once Human is by purchasing them in the Once Human shop.

Note: Earning memetics is one of the more obvious/main ways to obtain certain temporary formulas you unlock in the game. You lose these along with your level after wipes so it was not focused on specifically in this guide. However, the main way memetics are obtained is by earning ciphers which you earn by leveling, doing story tasks or completing Seasonal Goals.
9. Efficiency Strategies/Time Estimates
Running a formula farming route efficiently can be a good strategy if you're wanting to focus on other activities in the game.

Estimated times to complete formula/loot run route:

New player (lower level gear, weapon, new to the game): 1-2 hrs
Average/experienced (mid level gear, weapon, familiar with the game): ~40-45 minutes
Advanced/Speed runner: ~30 minutes or less

Note: Times may vary significantly depending on if you only target lootable containers which can contain formulas or if you also open all gear and weapon crates along the route. The amount of enemies you decide to engage or ignore will also impact your run time.

Recommended Foods:

Stardust Ratatoullie - Increase movement speed by 20% and reduce stamina consumption when sprinting by 50%

Malt Ale/Corn Ale - Helps deal with sanity drops in certain areas like Blackfell.

Canned Meat (for shrapnel builds) - Improve shrapnel damage by 20% for taking out enemies faster. (Make with rabbit or deer meat to improve stamina.

Recommended Inventory Items:
Backpack Expansion (+80 carry capacity or max prefered)

Recommended Gear/Mod Loadout:

It's recommended to have either a shrapnel souvenir/shrapnel carnage build or some form of infinite ammo build if you plan on taking out enemies along the way for gunpowder, materials, and acid. It saves a lot of time not having to reload as frequently.

Recommended Deviation:

Lonewolf's Whisper deviant remains one of the best to take with you on your loot runs or farming journeys. Main reason being, the Lonewolf can take agro off of you and distract and take out a lot of enemies if you just want to focus more on looting.

Recommended Calibration:

The following melee calibration is great by itself or combined with the stardust ratatouille increasing your total movement speed to 32.5% while you have your melee weapon out!

[Light-striker Style] Movement Speed +12.5%, Light strikes continuoussly increase Melee Attack Speed, up to +30%

Mechanical Tricks for increased movement/looting efficiency:

10. Trading Strategies/Formula Economy
When trading formulas in Once Human, it's essential to understand the different strategies players commonly use and the market values of various formulas. The most straightforward approach is to advertise in world chat that you want to trade formulas of similar rarity, such as common for common, uncommon for uncommon, rare for rare, epic for epic which helps ensure a fair trade.

In terms of market pricing, Energy Links (EL) serve as the in-game currency for buying formulas. Typically, in the early stages of a wipe, players will be more willing to buy and sell formulas for EL; however, as the phases progress, trading becomes more common than outright sales. Some players may choose to trade shiny deviants or rare calibrations for formulas, but generally its formulas for formulas. Prices vary significantly from server to server, but here are some general price ranges for key formulas:

Note: Generally, as the phases progress and players earn more EL, the cost of formulas can increase quite significantly
  • Common Formulas (White): 1,000 to 20,000+ EL depending on your server’s economy, current phase and player wealth.
  • Uncommon Formulas (Green): Generally worth around 20,000 to 100,000+ EL, depending on their usefulness and demand.
  • Rare Formulas (Blue): Generally worth around 150,000 to 500,000 EL, depending on their utility and rarity.
  • Epic Formulas (Purple): These are extremely rare and are almost never sold, typically being traded instead. If an epic formula is listed, it could fetch anywhere from 1,000,000 to 2,500,000+ EL, depending on its value and demand, though trading is often preferred due to their scarcity.

Honorable Mentions:
  • Metal Shelf Formula: 800,000 to 1,000,000+ EL due to its high demand, rarity and utility for placing either storage containers or planter boxes on them.
  • Twin Street Light Formula: 250,000 to 750,000+ EL, influenced by availability and demand.
  • Desktop Electronic Alarm Clock Formula: 30,000 to 75,000 EL
  • Desktop PC Formula: 99,000 to 150,000 EL
  • Wall Vines (I) Formula: Highly sought after due to being the largest vine formula, generally valued between 30,000 to 60,000 EL, reflecting its demand and rarity.

Some players also prefer to hold onto specific print formulas they find, saving them for trades between other players. The only downside to print formula trading/buying/selling is you cannot trade or sell them in vending machines nor can you trade or sell them via the trade mechanic in the game. You have to physically drop them in the world so make sure you're somewhere safe or private if you decide to trade or sell prints with other players.

Keeping a diverse collection of formulas, especially rare or high-value ones, can be a strategic move, allowing you to trade or sell when the demand is high and tends to be one of the most reliable methods of obtaining furniture formulas or prints you don't currently have. In other words, DO NOT DISASSEMBLE MORE RARE DUPLICATES such as metal shelves, twin street light, especially epic formulas. You're better off holding onto them or trading them!

@Mr. Cash - okay thanks, also appreciate the post, love it, got some blue formulas thrice in 4 days in grandma diner, rest places never drop blues thou.
Mr. Cash  [skaper] 2. nov. 2024 kl. 15.19
@Ezra I didn't have any luck getting any formulas from them.
Erza 30. okt. 2024 kl. 15.32
@Mr. Cash- any luck with beavers? I’m wondering if they really bring back formulas and if we need lucky logging platforms for it?
Jack Dritz 7. okt. 2024 kl. 6.45
So, idk if there's any influence, but i seem to get a lot more facilities with the lucky Logging Platform memetic specialization, i usually get 2 a day on an average of 3 weeks so far,
Mr. Cash  [skaper] 1. okt. 2024 kl. 9.37
@llewyne Appreciate it. Once I can confirm that, I will add that to the guide. I only ever recall receiving wood furniture facilities not formulas from the beaver, but I'm happy to add that to the guide once I get a formula drop from the beavers.
llewyne 30. sep. 2024 kl. 3.02
Great guide!

Some deviants, like the beaver, can also come back with formulas.
