Description
(This is an edit of the Preset Atlanta in the 1.0 beta please make sure you are using 1.0)

Hallowell was the first of 6 sister ships ordered from the USA by Fraser's sea army in Jan 1940 after they were hired by the British to help with convoy escort.
Based on the Atlanta Class Cruisers the ship were laid down in June of 1940 and when launched in Dec of 1941 The US refused the 5/38 guns to be fitted to the hallowell's and so spare 4.5 inch BD mounts were used instead.

Hallowell see service in the war against Italy Germany and japan as the Sea Army contract had extended to assisting the US forces.

Her biggest action was the battle of north cape where she was along side the British Light cruisers.

By the wars end only 2 of her class (Hallowell herself and Mercury) survived she would serve until 1982 receiving newer 4.5 inch guns in the 70's until her captain sailed her into a Hurricane where she would sink taking all hand with her.

she is seen here in the world war 2 layout
