M1 Combat Car

The M1 Combat Car also known as T5 Combat Car or M2A1 was supposed to be an anti infantry tank but was turned into a training tank. The M1 had been built by Rock Island Arsenal in 1935 in favor to the National defense act of 1920 which says that tanks will support infantry.

The name M1 Combat Car seemed redundant for a tank so they renamed it the M1A1 and only 113 were built because soon after the Spanish civil war engineers came to the conclusion that they needed bigger cannons not machine guns as main armament.
