Terraria Boss Ideas 14 - Tomato Event [Extras]
By Okami Tomato
Boss Ideas 14 has ended up having many parts to it, from the main page of basic progression to the Lab subworld mentioned on the previous guide page, and here we are with a new and updated variant of the old Tomato Event.

As usual please note this isn't a guide but a place to store info, and is more focused around a modded experience than vanilla changes. This has been discussed prior many times, so I'll refrain from going into more detail again.

But, with that little fore-note sorted, on we go!

[Prior Notes]
Prior Parts:
As you might notice from the title, this is actually the third Boss Ideas 14 page. If you've managed to find yourself here without reading either the main page and/or the Lab, they can be found here:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3179224376
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3300037063
These pages also contain a broader explanation of some other things you might need to be aware of to enjoy these pages, which is also listed at the top of the Guides similar to this. Most of it should be self-explanatory though, so it should be fine either way.

Layout Changes:
Figured I'd address this for all the returning Boss Ideas fans, as this page has a different sort of layout to the usual ones since it's focused on the missions as much as the bosses. Thus, the page is broken down into descriptions of each mission that include the boss details at the end of each section. If you're looking for a boss you'll have to find its respective mission, which should be made more evident based on the mission name.

Also, when it comes to bosses, most of them will have two sets of stats, separated by a '|':
✦ The stats on the left are those of when the boss is first encountered, usually reflecting their position in progression.
✦ The stats on the right are those of its highest stats, as encountered in the Post-Game.
While bosses do get buffed throughout progression (e.g. entering Hardmode or defeating certain bosses) I figured it'd be too cluttered to name every stat change, especially for bosses unlocked earlier on.

Additionally, bosses do not gain further abilities in For the Worthy or GetFixedBoi in this event for the sake of simplicity. Expert Mode will still affect their attacks to an extent, however. Bosses do get stronger attacks later in progression as well, which is labelled on the page as needed.
[The 'Tomato Forest' Subworld]
Entry to the Subworld
The Tomato Forest subworld is accessible from the start of the game, accessed by using the Leafy Key item found in the underground jungle. It is found on a pedestal in a large, brightly-lit room built like a big house, though lacking chairs to prevent NPCs moving in.

There is a special crafting bench at its centre that allows the player to craft extra Leafy Keys using Vines should the original be lost, but the crafting station itself is unique and cannot be remade if destroyed. It is strongly suggested to keep it safe (e.g. in a chest) once picked up.

Simply using the item will warp the player to the subworld, and using it again will return them to the main world, spawning them back at their spawn location.

While in the subworld the Creative Shock debuff is applied, preventing the player from building or mining anything.

Subworld Contents
The subworld is mainly composed of a dense forest full of wooden structures, seemingly built by the tomatoes themselves. Houses, shops, and large special buildings can be accessed, with many extra places unlocked throughout progression. The most important area, in this case, is the Village Centre.

NPCs are found throughout the subworld that can be interacted with, with a few of them willing to provide the player items or trade with them at varying stages of the game.

The Village Centre acts as the entry point to most of the subworld's main content, mainly containing the Item Shop and the Arena Gate. The Item Shop will sell items to the player depending on progression for a mix of regular coins and Tomatokens, unlocked by completing missions. The Arena Gate acts as the entry point to the Arena, where the player can select missions to attempt.

Missions
Missions can be selected by talking to the Gate Keeper at the Arena Gate. Selecting a mission will allow the player to enter the Arena and attempt it, with each mission having a respective difficulty associated with them indicated through stars.

Missions are unlocked based on a few criteria, usually the player's progression through the game and based on the amount of other missions already completed.

Winning a mission will reward the player with a gold star next to the mission title, some money and Tomatokens, and sometimes special items often linked to the theme of the mission. Most of the items are sold at the shop to make obtaining them less RNG-dependent, but some are exclusive to this method.

Losing a mission by running out of health will not kill the player, but will instead return them to the Village Centre with half their max HP. Going back to the Arena Gate lets the player either retry or quit the current mission. Retrying will return the player to the 'Wave' that they lost on, but will cost a scaling amount of money based on attempts needed. Losing does not affect rewards, however winning without dying will increase the loot given.

The Arena
The Arena is a large room, several hundred blocks across, that all missions take place in. It has various levels to it that are accessible via platforms, and most of the structures are made of wood. There are a few isolated platforms higher than the others not connected through platforms, but these are scarce and hard to access without wings.

Flight time and speed are capped in this arena to prevent cheese strats. Similarly, grappling hooks do not work to prevent players grappling to the ceiling to avoid confronting enemies. The arena also cannot be teleported out of without immediately forfeiting the mission.

Enemy Types:
There are 5 'types' of enemy that appear throughout the event, summarised below:

✦ Tier 1: The most basic enemy types, and the ones that spawn most often. Usually don't have too many special abilities, and very few have ranged attacks.
✦✦ Tier 2: Stronger enemies that spawn less often. Have a wide range of abilities ranging from simple durability to support abilities like buffs.
✦✦✦ Tier 3: Very strong enemies that have a hard spawn limit of 1, meaning only one may be active at any time. They are often very strong and have powerful abilities that make them a major threat.
✦✦✦✦ Boss: A strong enemy that spawns on the final wave of a mission, usually alongside either few or no other enemies. They must be defeated to finish the mission.
✦✦✦✦ Mini-Boss: A boss-tier enemy that spawns in pre-determined waves on harder missions. They are nearly-identical to their boss counterparts, but with reduced HP. Like the bosses, they must be defeated to clear their respective wave.

Newly-encountered enemies will have a brief description on each mission. Bosses will obviously have a more in-depth description, while mini-bosses will not as they simply share boss' abilities but with less HP.
Mission 1: The Big Tomato Skirmish
✦ Unlock Requirements: Unlocked by Default
✦ Difficulty: ★
✦ Description: 'A simple skirmish to help you learn the ropes!'

The most basic mission and the only one unlocked from the start. Introduces the player to a large amount of Tier 1 enemies and a few Tier 2s, but generally keeps things simple.

Returning Enemies:
[N/A]

New Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato: A very basic enemy with low stats but a decent jump height. Moves via a bunch of tiny hops, but not much more to worry about.
✦ Tomato Guy: A humanoid tomato with better stats than the Small Tomatoes but a lower jump height. Still a fairly basic enemy.
✦ Tomarcher: A humanoid tomato armed with a bow. Fires slowly, but the arrows are quite fast. The arrows are affected by gravity and will fall after a short time.
✦ ToMageTo: A magic tomato, slow-moving and fairly frail, but its magic projectiles have a very slight seeking ability and deal decent damage. Will occasionally teleport after attacking, but walks most of the time.
✦ Knightomato: A Small Tomato piloting a suit of armour made of wood and metal. A bulky enemy with high damage, attacking by spinning its torso with its arms outstretched. However, it is very slow.
✦✦ Tomimic: The First 'tier 2' enemy encountered. Acts similar to the biome mimics, but has an extra 'attack' where it spawns 1-3 Small Tomatoes near itself. Lacks the ability to deflect projectiles in Expert Mode. Can only spawn Small Tomatoes if less than 20 are already active.
✦✦ Captain Tomato: A Small Tomato with a backpack and flag. Moves like the other Small Tomatoes, though a bit slower, but has much higher HP. Grants a special buff to nearby enemies that boosts their attack, defence, and damage reduction.
✦✦ Football Mato: A tomato in a football outfit, carrying a Small Tomato in a helmet. Runs fast and has boosted knockback resistance. When close to the player he will throw the Small Tomato at them, which becomes a regular Small Tomato upon landing. After throwing the Small Tomato it will resume running.

Boss: Big Boy

Appearance: A giant version of the Small Tomato enemies, carrying a shield and sword. The sword looks nearly identical to the Seedler sword dropped by Plantera.

Stats: [Pre-Hardmode | Post-Game]
Health: 3,000 (4,250) | 1,865,000 (2,350,000)
Attack:
-40 (60) | 265 (400) (Melee, Sword Slash)
-60 (98) | 300 (450) (Shield Bash)
-N/A | 250 (382) (Seeds)
Defence: 10 | 165 +10% Damage Resistance

Attacks:
Big Boy will usually try to stay reasonably close to the player, keeping his sword pointed forward and adjusting his position with short hops. He will use one of three attacks:
-He may dash forward a little and swing his sword in an attempt to hit the player.
-He may jump up and attempt to land on the player, then will jump to either side of the player to return to his sword-drawn stance.
-He may pull out his shield and hold it in front of him. He will then hop back a few times and, after a short while, dash horizontally in attempt to hit them with the shield. At the end of the attack he stumbles a little, giving a safe window to retaliate.

Expert Changes:
-Big Boy's slash attack will happen three times in succession, moving forward with each successive slash.
-The stumble at the end of the shield bash attack is removed.

Hardmode Changes:
-During the slash attack the sword slashes will spawn explosive seeds randomly, similar to the Seedler. The seeds, explosions, and fragments deal identical damage.
-Speed of the shield bash attack is faster.

Post-Plantera Changes:
-Gains all Expert attack changes.
-During the jump attack Big Boy will cartwheel through the air, spinning his sword around near the apex of the jump.
-Can jump during the shield bash attack to try to catch the player off-guard.

Post-Moon Lord Changes:
-Two Big Boys will spawn at the same time, and both need to be defeated to win.
--If one Big Boy is defeated, the other will gain increased attack speed for 30 seconds.

Defeat: Sent rolling away, with his weapon and shield being knocked away from him.
Defeating the boss variant will end the Big Tomato Skirmish, as well as:
✦ A Big Boy can now be found east of the Village Centre who can be spoken to. He will give the player the Seedler Jr. sword that acts as a weaker version of the Seedler, but his other interactions are all simple dialogue.
✦ The mission Huge Trouble will be unlocked.

Lore: A huge version of the Small Tomatoes, using their increased size to their advantage. While you might think a bulkier frame would slow them down, it actually seems to give them an extra spring in their step.

Extra Info:
-The Big Boy is named after the Big Boy tomato variety.
-The Big Boy was previously seen in the Boss Ideas 10 version of the Tomato Event, sporting a near-identical look. The version from Boss Ideas 5 was also similar, though had a rounded shield.
-Big Boy's design is rather ironic, given that it is literally a big Small Tomato.
[Added: 24/8/24]
Mission 2: Huge Trouble
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete 'The Big Tomato Skirmish'
✦ Difficulty: ★★
✦ Description: 'A tougher challenge with more unusual enemies!'

A slightly harder mission, intended to be fought later into Pre-Hardmode. Introduces new enemy types while bringing back some from the first mission.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato, Tomato Guy
✦✦ Tomimic, Captain Tomato

New Enemies:

✦ Hi-Jumper: A Small Tomato wearing a metal band with leaves attached at the sides and a cape. Acts similar to other Small Tomatoes, but has the ability to jump extremely high to catch the player.
✦ Bucket Tomato: A Small Tomato wearing a bucket. The Bucket shields it from damage until it is destroyed, where it becomes a regular Small Tomato.
✦✦ Shieldmato: Carries a shield that allows it to create a barrier that covers it and nearby allies. The barrier absorbs damage from them, destroys piercing projectiles, and bounces away melee minions. It takes a few seconds for a shield to regenerate once broken. Shieldmatoes' shields cannot protect other Shieldmatoes or Tier 3 enemies.
✦✦ Slimato & Rider: A Small Tomato riding a slime, each with its own health bar. The Slime is fast and can jump high, while the rider doesn't have any special abilities. Defeating the Slime first will drop a Small Tomato, while defeating the rider does not affect the slime's behaviour.
✦✦ Discomato: A dancing humanoid tomato that spawns in Backup Dancers; dancing tomatoes wearing the same outfit minus the afro. Spawns them in 3 at a time, with a max of 8. The Backup Dancers cannot spawn their own minions.
✦✦✦ Tomengineer: The first Tier 3 enemy encountered. Teleport in randomly and build three types of building. Teleporters grant the tomatoes an extra spawn point, Dispensers heal nearby tomatoes a set amount of health per second, and Sentries will fire at the player should they get close. A Tomengineer can built only 1 Teleporter and 1 Dispenser, but up to 3 Sentries, at a time.

Boss: Metamorph

Appearance: A big tomato with a strange appearance, propped up on 4 legs. Each leg is seemingly made of spherical segments, 5 in total, with the bottom one slightly squished in shape.

Stats: [Pre-Hardmode | Post-Game]
Health: 6,250 (8,500) | 3,135,000 (3,750,000)
Attack:
-55 (85) | 285 (432) (Melee)
-50 (78) | 260 (396) (Rocks)
Defence: 8 | 165

Attacks:
Metamorph will slowly walk towards the player, stopping to attack. He will also try to avoid cornering the player near the arena borders by attacking earlier if he and the player get to close to either wall. Metamorph's attacks are as follows:
-It may leap up and try to land on top of the player. His limbs are spread out slightly to increase the area he lands upon.
-He may leap and swing his front legs back, swinging them forward with force upon landing.
-He may swing his arms back and slam them forward without jumping first. Upon handing it also displaces some rocks from the ground that jut out a couple of blocks in all directions.
At 40% health he will slightly increase his movement and attack speed. He increases them further at 15% health.

Expert Changes:
-The rocks launched from the grounded slam attack are actively launched outward in all directions a moderate distance.
-Movement and attack speed is increased at 50% health, 30% health and 10% health instead.

Hardmode Changes:
-The leap attack is faster and can cover more distance horizontally with the leap.
-General movement speed increases.
-The leaping slam attack now creates rocks as well, which are launched in Expert Mode.

Post-Plantera Changes:
-Expert Mode attack pattern changes are in effect on all difficulties.
-Both slam attacks create more rocks and the rocks are launched higher and over greater distances.

Post-Moon Lord Changes:
-During both leap attacks Metamorph will perform a cartwheel in midair, increasing the chance of it hitting flying players significantly.
-Movement and attack speed buffed further.

Defeat: Staggers about and falls forward. Disappears into a big puff of smoke, similar to most of the regular enemies.
Defeating the boss variant will end Huge Trouble, as well as:
✦ Metamorph can now appear in the village in an area southwest of the centre. It does not do anything particularly special, and does not have any dialogue beyond '...'.

Lore: A large mutant tomato with a very strange appearance. Despite his size being rather daunting, he's actually big softy at heart and very curious, making him easy to get along with.

Extra Info:
-Metamorph is technically the oldest concept of mine to appear in Boss Ideas at this point, being roughly 10 years old as of writing this.
--This is because Metamorph originated from another project and was simply brought over when said project merged with Boss Ideas content. In Metamorph's case, the only real change involved making him a soft red colour and added the leaf tuft atop his head.
-Metamorph is one of the only two bosses that appear to be mute, given his lack of dialogue in the hub area. Of the two, it is also the only one to not make another noise in place of speaking.
-Despite being a primarily grounded boss, the fight actually becomes rather dangerous to attempt while flying, especially Post-Moon Lord where it gains the ability to cartwheel in the air to increase its hitbox size significantly.

Mission 3: Honey Garden
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete 'The Big Tomato Skirmish' and enter Hardmode
✦ Difficulty: ★★★
✦ Description: 'Flowers are blooming all over the arena, attracting some very strange bees!'

One of two missions unlocked upon entering Hardmode. Mostly focused on flight and flowers. The Arena itself is also slightly different, with flowers growing around the arena floor. Includes a mini-boss encounter roughly 2/3 of the way through the mission.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato, Hi-Jumper
✦✦ Captain Tomato
✦✦✦✦ Big Boy (Mini-Boss)

New Enemies:

✦ Flower Crown 'Mato: A Small Tomato variant with increased stats across the board, making it a generally more dangerous 'basic' enemy.
✦ Lil' Beemato: A flying enemy that simply flies towards the player. Low health and takes a while to turn mid-flight, but able to swarm the player in large numbers due to being a tier 1 enemy.
✦✦ Cheermato: A cheerleader that, as you may expect, cheers. Enemies in a large radius around her gain increased movement speed, damage, knockback resistance and health regen. Her buffs and Captain Tomato's are not mutually exclusive.
✦✦ Mowermato: A slow, tanky enemy that does heavy damage on hit. However, it cannot jump and it cannot use platforms to elevate itself, leaving it purely grounded at all times.

Beemato

Appearance: A humanoid tomato with long, yellow hair and a large sweater with a bee-like pattern. She also has wings on her back, granting her flight.
Alongside Beemato, the Beeslugs make a return using their usual design; a pill-shaped body with a black stripe down the middle and two wings on their back. Two Beeslugs follow Beemato around that cannot deal or take damage; acting more like pets.

Stats: [Hardmode | Post-Game]
Health: 35,000 (45,750) | 3,250,000 (3,875,000)
Attack:
-60 (92) | 265 (400) (Melee, Honey Ball)
-65 (100) | 290 (438) (Beeslug Ball)
-55 (86) | 255 (388) (Beeslug)
-50 (80) | 240 (372) (Honey Globs)
Defence: 25 | 185

Attacks:
Beemato will usually try to stay diagonally above the player, but only moves slowly to that position. She does move much faster to attack, however.
-She may fly up above the player and drop down, attempting to deal melee damage. Upon falling far enough or hitting a solid block the attack ends.
-She may call in a bunch of other Beeslugs that fly together and form a ball. She will then signal and the ball will fly towards the player, spinning as it does so. After a few seconds or upon hitting a block it explodes into a 'burst' of 16 Beeslugs launched in all directions, alongside a 17th that'll fly directly at the player.
-She may summon a large ball of honey that is launched toward the player. The ball is affected by gravity and leaves damaging puddles of honey on the floor with each bounce. After some time passes the ball explodes, launching globs of honey out in random directions. The honey globs are also affected by gravity.
-She may whistle and point to either the left or right of the screen. Depending on the direction she points, a wall of Beeslugs will fly in from the side opposite to where she's pointing and fly across the screen. The Beeslugs are spaced out well enough for the player to fly between them comfortably.

Expert Changes:
-All projectiles and attacks are faster.
-Honey puddles produced by the honey ball attack are noticeably larger.

Post-Plantera Changes:
-The slam attack now ends with Beemato bouncing up toward the player if the Beemato hits a solid block.

Post-Moon Lord Changes:
-Expert attack pattern changes are in effect on all difficulties.
-The beeslug ball is larger and, upon exploding, releases two bursts of beeslugs as projectiles instead of just one. The second burst has different spacing than the first.
-The beeslug wall attack happens twice in succession, with different spacing each time.

Post-Duality Changes:
-The beeslug wall attack has more beeslugs, making it harder to avoid.

Defeat: Beemato is sent tumbling away, falling down in the foreground, while the two Beeslugs that followed her fly after her.
Defeating the boss variant will end Honey Garden, as well as:
✦ A special garden room will open up in the hub area. In this room the player can find Beemato, some Lil' Beematoes, and some Beeslugs. The player can talk to Beemato to undertake tasks to earn items, usually linked to flowers in some way.

Lore: Beemato: A bee-like tomato who found herself in charge of a hive of Beeslugs. Upon returning to the tomatoes' homestead, it seems she garnered further fans that chose to cosplay as her and her new friends.
Beeslugs: Strange, bee-like creatures that have adopted the Beemato as their ruler, effectively their queen. Plants they visit have a tendency to grow strong and vibrant, which as you may expect means they got on with the tomatoes exceedingly quickly.
(Both lore entries are given by defeating Beemato)

Extra Info:
-While Beemato herself hasn't really appeared in a Boss Ideas page before, the Beeslugs have had some mention back around the time of Boss Ideas 4 and 5 due to loose ties with the Prodigious Defenderfly at the time. Aside from this, their design generally doesn't make them well-suited for Boss Ideas pages, so later appearances have been scarce.
-Defeating Beemato unlocks the first area in the tomato subworld that is initially inaccessible to the player: the flower garden.
-Beemato is one of very few enemies or bosses on this page that does not use the colour green anywhere on her design.
--The main reason for this is because most tomatoes' hair is naturally green, which means most use the colour almost by default, while Beemato's is yellow.
-Beemato is the only boss to summon a non-tomato enemy into their fight, as well as bringing the only enemy in the event that isn't at least in some way related to the tomatoes (the Beeslugs).
[Added: 24/8/24]
Mission 4: Riverside Rumble
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete 'The Big Tomato Skirmish' and enter Hardmode
✦ Difficulty: ★★★
✦ Description: 'Something fishy seems to be stirring beneath the water's surface!'

One of two missions unlocked upon entering Hardmode. Introduces water-themed enemies via the high tide; a recurring theme across any missions that have water-themed enemies present in the future. This mission also includes a mini-boss encounter roughly 2/3 of the way through the mission.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato, Tomato Guy, ToMageTo, Bucket Tomato
✦✦ Cheermato, Captain Tomato
✦✦✦✦ Metamorph (Mini-Boss)

*If this mission is attempted prior to Honey Garden then the Cheermato is introduced here instead

New Enemies:

✦ Fishmato: A small, fish-like tomato. Swims around for a while before leaping out of the water high into the air. Flops around on the ground for a while after the leap before returning to the water. Requires weapons that pass through blocks to attack it in the water, otherwise you have to wait for the leap.
✦✦ Matomarine: A submarine that will surface somewhere from the water, with the captain raising up on a platform afterward. Fires missiles that fly upward, then fly down from above the player's position. The captain is higher than the arena's floor allowing him, and by extension the submarine, to be attacked.

Boss: Mermato

Appearance: A mermaid-like tomato with long green hair and a green tail fin. Most of her tail is a deeper red than her body. She appears to be wearing kelp as coverings, alongside a starfish-like hair accessory.

Stats: [Hardmode | Post-Game]
Health: 35,000 (45,750) | 3,250,000 (3,875,000)
Attack:
-60 (92) | 265 (400) (Melee, Water Spears)
-65 (100) | 290 (438) (Water Ball)
-55 (86) | 255 (388) (Music Notes)
-50 (80) | 240 (372) (Rain)
Defence: 25 | 185

Attacks:
Mermato spends the entire fight inside a water bubble, though the bubble has no impact on the fight and acts only as a visual effect. Mermato floats diagonal to the player when possible, picking the diagonal closest to her current position after every attack. She will usually stop to perform attacks:
-She may sing, creating rings of music notes around herself. They start cardinal and ordinally to her, but the ring of notes rotates either clockwise or anticlockwise as they disperse. Many rings are created during the attack, though the rotation speed and direction varies with each ring.
-She may summon various rain clouds that disperse randomly around the arena and begin raining. They act similar to those summoned by the Nimbus Rod, dropping damaging rain, and linger for a while.
-She may summon multiple large balls of water near herself that she bats away. These will then bounce around the arena, affected by gravity, and pop after a while.
-She may summon spear-like formations of water to fall from the sky. They will appear evenly spaced across the arena ceiling, drop slightly, stop briefly, and then drop down. During this attack she also sings, sending slow-moving music notes toward the player until the spears drop.

Expert Changes:
-All projectiles and attacks are faster.
-Produces more clouds when summoning rain clouds.

Post-Plantera Changes:
-The water ball attack's projectiles are now unaffected by gravity and move faster.

Post-Moon Lord Changes:
-Expert attack pattern changes are in effect on all difficulties.
-During the singing attack, each ring of notes is composed of 12 notes instead of 8. The speed at which they are produced, rotate and disperse is also increased.
-The water spear attack happens twice in succession, with the second row of spears having different spacing than the first. Mermato also keeps producing notes until the second row of spears drops.

Post-Duality Changes:
-The water spear attack spawns more spears and they fall slightly faster.

Defeat: Gets knocked into the foreground, falling back into the water with a splash. Her bubble pops when she runs out of health.
Defeating the boss variant will end Riverside Rumble, as well as:
✦ A special room will open up in the hub area, mostly composed of a beach and a pier. Mermato and some of the Fishmatoes can be found there, and Mermato can be interacted with to unlock quests for special ocean-themed items.
✦ If both Beemato and Mermato have been defeated by this point Tomantha, a former boss from the Boss Ideas 10 version of the event, can be found in the Village Centre. Her dialogue mainly foreshadows some upcoming bosses, though is otherwise fairly standard. She will appear regardless of the order the two bosses are defeated, though is listed here for the sake of avoiding repetition.

Lore: A mermaid tomato? How unusual! Now there are a lot of sub-species of tomato out there, and I'm sure you've already encountered others yourself, but witnessing them firsthand is often a rarity. This one seems friendly, though, which is nice.

Extra Info:
-Mermato acts as a counterpart to Beemato in various ways. She is unlocked at the same point in progression, both have identical stats and the same number of attacks (atop some similarities between certain attacks), and the changes to attacks throughout game progression are similar.
--Both of them also unlock special rooms in the hub area once beaten, where they can both be found and spoken to in order to unlock quests to earn other themed items.
--Additionally, either of their stages can act as Cheermato's debut, and both of them debut a Small Tomato themed around another animal (Lil' Beemato, Fishmato). Additionally, both need to be defeated for Tomantha to appear in the Village Centre.
[Added: 24/8/24]
Mission 5: Tinkerer Tussle
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete at least two missions and defeat Plantera
✦ Difficulty: ★★★★
✦ Description: 'A meet-up of many mechanically inclined minds!'

A mission unlocked Post-Plantera that is themed around machines and gadgets. Most enemies seen either pilot some sort of machine, or are themselves mechanical. The background to the arena will be a sunset, and high tide is present again.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato, Tomato Guy, Tomarcher, Knightomato, Bucket Tomato
✦✦ Shieldmato, Captain Tomato, Mowermato, Matomarine
✦✦✦ Tomengineer

New Enemies:

✦ Tomatocopter: A flying enemy with a decent amount of health and defence. Will fly near to the player and fire at them periodically. A max of 4 can be active at any time.
✦✦ Explodomato: A sea mine on wheels. Quickly chases the player and primes itself when close, exploding shortly after, or explodes immediately on player contact. Does high damage and is extremely durable. Only two can be active at any time.
✦✦ Automato: A robotic tomato that has similar, though higher, stats compared to Tomato Guys. When spawning they will teleport in somewhere close to the player instead of the usual enemy spawn points.
✦✦ Jetomato: A flying enemy that will fly close to the player, and then dash at them. Prefers dashing diagonally downward.
✦✦✦ Tomanche Defence: A larger helicopter that will fire a missile barrage when the player is in range. Additionally, every few seconds it will call in a Mini-Tomanche; smaller versions of itself that fire a missile every second. Up to 3 Mini-Tomanches can be spawned at a time. At low health the spawn cooldown for the Mini-Tomanches is reduced.

Boss: 'Mato Mech 3000

Appearance: A round, red robot designed to look like a tomato. It has 4 mechanical legs that extend from the base and two arms that extend from panels on its sides. It also has a rectangular viewing window at the front with a small tomato pilot seen inside.

Additionally, the Mato Mech itself arrives on the back of a black truck, jumping out of the back at the start of the fight.

Stats: [Post-Plantera | Post-Game]
Health:
-62,500 (87,500) | 2,745,000 (3,000,000) (Mech)
-N/A | 775,000 (1,150,000) (Truck)
Attack:
-70 (114) | 275 (418) (Mech Melee)
-60 (100) | 260 (394) (Missiles, Mato Drones)
-85 (140) | 300 (450) (Deathray)
-N/A | 285 (430) (Truck Melee)
Defence: 30 | 200 +5% Damage Resistance

Attacks:
The Mato Mech will use jets in its feet to fly, usually attempting to stay somewhere on-screen when not attacking, but with no preference to any particular position. During attacks, however, its positioning changes and does so rather quickly:
-It may align with the player and fire missiles horizontally towards them every 0.8 seconds. These missiles accelerate rapidly as they travel.
-It may stay still but aim its arm cannons upward, firing missiles into the sky. These will rain down around the arena randomly over the next few seconds at varying speeds and with slight variations in the angles they fall at.
-It may aim its hands at the player and fire an inaccurate barrage of missiles while loosely mimicking the player's movement.
At 60% health it will add two new attacks to its arsenal:
-It may fly close to the player and begin charging energy, seemingly heating up as it does so. After a random delay anywhere between 2.5-4 seconds it will dash at the player at high speed.
-It may drop small radio-controlled drones from the green spikes on its head that fall to the ground. These will walk underneath the player, jump up, and explode upon reaching the player's height. Drones are spawned continuously for up to 3 seconds.
Finally, at 25% health, it gains one new attack:
-It may charge up and fire a deathray from one of its arms, aimed at the player, and after a short delay begin firing one from the other. The second arm moves, letting its deathray sweep, as it slowly follows the player's movement.

Expert Changes:
-New attacks unlocked earlier. The first 2 unlocked at 75% health and the 3rd at 40% health.
-More missiles are spawned during the missile rain attack.
-More Mato Drones are spawned during the drone attack. The attack also now takes 4 seconds to spawn them all.

Post-Moon Lord Changes:
-A new phase is added at the start of the fight, where the truck itself attacks the player. The truck drives back and forth along the arena floor, occasionally being boosted into the air while near the player in an attempt to hit them. Once the truck is destroyed the Mato Mech will dismount it and begin attacking.
-The horizontal missile attack fires missiles with a shorter delay of 0.6 seconds.
-The sweeping deathray moves faster.

Post-Duality Changes:
-Expert attack changes are in effect on all difficulties.
-The horizontal missile attack fires missiles with a shorter delay of 0.4 seconds.
-The dash attack now has a delay between 1.5-3 seconds.
-Both deathrays are larger and persist for longer.

Defeat: The Mech's arms explode and it begins smoldering. The pilot ejects as the main body of the mech explodes into gibs.
Defeating the boss variant will end Tinkerer Tussle, as well as:
✦ The factory will open up in the hub area, where some Tomengineers can be found and spoken to. The player can trade various ores and bars with them, and some will give the player quests to receive special items.

Lore: A small tomato with big dreams and a love of electronics. Inseparable from their machines, this tomato has been refining their 'Mato Mech' for a long time to make the perfect mix of silly and efficient. Credit to them, the machine packs quite a punch!

Extra Info:
-The Mato Mech is one of two primary bosses to appear across all versions of the Tomato Event, however its original iteration in the Boss Ideas 1 version lacked the tomato-like design the later models had.
-While this version of the Mato Mech is technically weaker than the older versions initially, due to only being a Post-Plantera boss, it does become the strongest version when given its Post-Moon Lord upgrades, and this gap widens with the buffs given after defeating Duality or entering the Post-Game.
-When dealing with the deathray attack, it is best to circle the mech slowly. Doubling back on yourself makes it significantly more likely you'll get pinned between its deathrays and take damage and thus is ill-advised.

Mission 6: Magical Misdirects
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete at least two missions and defeat Plantera
✦ Difficulty: ★★★★
✦ Description: 'A magical talent show, and it seems you've got a front-row seat!'

A mission unlocked Post-Plantera that is themed around magic. Most enemies present are magic-related in some way, whether they directly use magic, misdirection or summon other enemies. The background of the arena is a sunset.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato, Tomato Guy, Hi-Jumper, ToMageTo, Flower Crown 'Mato
✦✦ Cheermato, Tomimic, Discomato

New Enemies:

✦ Ninjamato: An agile small tomato that throws shuriken when close to the player. Is able to dodge attacks by jumping, throwing a shuriken at the apex of the jump in response regardless of player distance.
✦✦ Cupidmato: A flying enemy that launches heart-shaped arrows at the player. The arrows also inflict a debuff that reduces attack briefly.
✦✦✦ King Tomato: A royal tomato that spawns at the same time as the Candy Cleric. Every few seconds it will select 3 enemies to 'knight' over a large range, prioritising tier 2 and 3 enemies. 'Knighted' enemies are given a permanent buff to damage, defence, granted mild health regen, and granted knockback immunity. King Tomato cannot knight himself. Attacks the player with magic blasts from his staff if they get too close.
✦✦✦ Candy Cleric: Spawns at the same time as King Tomato, noticeably not a tomato. Has health regen and can attempt to heal enemies every few seconds. Heals all enemies over a large radius by 25% of their max health, or 40% health for Tier 1 enemies. Healing can be interrupted by attacking her, which resets her cooldown. Attacks the player with magical explosions if they get too close.
✦✦✦ Mummato: A ghostly tomato that flies after the player, dashing at them when close. When defeated it reverts to rags from which it will respawn after a few seconds. Disappears upon completion of a wave.

Boss: Bunmato

Appearance: A tomato with bunny ears. Wears a red waistcoat and a black top hat with a red band around it. Carries a squeaky hammer with a red and yellow head with a silver star sticker on it.

Stats: [Post-Plantera | Post-Game]
Health:
-55,000 (75,000) | 2,500,000 (2,785,000) (Bunmato)
-N/A | 700,000 (1,000,000) (Magic Hat)
Attack:
-60 (100) | 260 (394) (Melee, Squeaky Hammer)
-70 (114) | 275 (418) (Stars, Spotlights, Magic Rings)
-85 (140) | 300 (450) (Playing Card Attack)
-N/A | 270 (412) (Hat Melee)
Defence: 15 | 155 +5% Damage Resistance

Attacks:
Bunmato will usually be stationary when not attacking but is capable of teleporting, usually via her magic hat, to reposition herself:
-She may jump into her hat and disappear. After a brief moment the hat will appear near the player, Bunmato will jump out, and she will try to hit the player with the squeaky hammer. Afterward, she disappears back into the hat and re-appears elsewhere.
-She may jump into her hat and disappear. Over the next few seconds she will emerge from the hat in various random places, each time throwing an arc of three star-shaped projectiles toward the player. After the final stars are thrown she won't return to the hat.
-She may disappear into the hat and re-appear in various places around the arena. Each time she emerges she will throw a star projectile, though these ones will chase the player. After a few seconds each star will gradually lose their seeking properties.
At 60% health she gains access to two new attacks:
-She may disappear into her hat and re-emerge in various places around the arena. Each time she does so she will throw a large golden ring toward the player. These rings move quickly and ricochet off the arena walls, floor and ceiling. After the final one is thrown it will take about 4 seconds for them all to suddenly disappear.
-She may pull many smaller hats out of her hat and throw them to random positions near the player and at various angles. After a delay damaging spotlights will emanate from the inside of each hat depending on the direction they are facing before disappearing.
At 25% health she gains access to one more final attack:
-She may shuffle a deck of cards and randomly select a card from the pile. There are 5 different effects depending on the card pulled:
--Diamonds: She will create a 4-armed spiral of diamond projectiles from herself that rotates clockwise.
--Spades: Spade-shaped projectiles will rain down from the sky diagonally, shattering on contact with the ground.
--Clubs: Club-shaped projectiles will rise up from the ground vertically, shattering on contact with the ceiling.
--Hearts: Creates rings of heart projectiles that she then launches toward the player.
--Joker: Looks disappointed, nothing happens. Less likely than the other outcomes.

Expert Changes:
-New attacks unlocked earlier. The first 2 unlocked at 75% health and the 3rd at 40% health.
-Homing star attack spawns more stars.
-More rings are spawned during the magic ring attack and they move faster.

Post-Moon Lord Changes:
-A new phase is added at the start of the fight, where Bunmato's hat will chase after the player. The hat takes a while to change direction but moves quickly. When defeated, Bunmato will emerge and begin her part of the fight.
-The star arc attack projectiles are faster, as is her attack speed.
-The card attack now happens more frequently, Joker is slightly less likely to be drawn.

Post-Duality Changes:
-Expert attack changes are in effect on all difficulties.
-All of her original three attacks are faster.
-The spotlight attack now creates more hats and releases the spotlights faster.
-She can now chain together two of her card effects at once by drawing two cards. Drawing the same suit twice simply increase the intensity of the attack.

Defeat: Bunmato's hammer is knocked into the air and then lands on her head. Falls down in the foreground, dropping a bunch of playing cards as she falls.
Defeating the boss variant will end Magical Misdirects, as well as:
✦ A circus tent-like room is unlocked in the hub area, where Bunmato can be found. Depending on player progression she may give them gimmicky items usually themed around magic tricks, as well as her squeaky hammer Post-Moon Lord.
✦ Once both Bunmato and Mato Mech are defeated, Tomato and Mia from the Boss Ideas 10 Tomato Event will appear in the Village Centre. They can be interacted with and will give the player a pet, but are otherwise just there for conversation.

Lore: A magical bunny 'mato with a love of theatrics. Has a talent for magic but utilises it with a 'magic trick' theming. Stopped doing disappearing tricks due to losing too many things, like her old hammer, her leggings, and Marvin.

Extra Info:
-Bunmato and the Mato Mech, like Beemato and Mermato, act as counterparts to each other due to being unlocked at the same time. Both have similar changes across progression including gaining a new first phase, new attacks unlocked at the same health percentages, and similar stats.
--They are not identical, however, as the attacks themselves are very distinct, and Bunmato has significantly less health to compensate for her teleportation.
-Bunmato was originally a secret variant of the Catomato from the Boss Ideas 10 version of the event, though had a different appearance. While Catomato doesn't appear here as a boss, she can be found in the circus tent area alongside Bunmato after her boss fight.
-The chance for her to pull the Joker card starts at 1 in 10, but becomes 1 in 27 (or 2 in 54) Post-Moon Lord in reference to a deck of cards (52 'suit' cards and 2 jokers).
-Marvin, mentioned in her lore, is a scrapped 'joke' enemy that was just a small tomato in a hat.

Mission 7: Well-Rounded Tournament
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete at least three missions and defeat the Moon Lord
✦ Difficulty: ★★★★★
✦ Description: 'A celebration of the lil' guys, small and round!'

A Post-Moon Lord mission themed around the Small Tomato enemies and their many, many counterparts. Most of them make some sort of appearance here, as do the two mini-bosses that fit the criteria. Two Mini-Bosses are present during the mission, though only one will spawn, chosen randomly. It is now nighttime, though the arena does not become noticeably darker.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato, Hi-Jumper, Knightomato, Tomatocopter, Ninjamato, Flower Crown Mato, Bucket Tomato, Beemato, Fishmato
✦✦ Cheermato, Shieldmato, Captain Tomato, Slime Rider, Cupidmato, Mowermato, Jetomato, Matomarine
✦✦✦ Tomanche Defence, Tomengineer, Mummato
✦✦✦✦ Big Boy or Mato Mech 3000

New Enemies:

✦✦ Soldiermato: A small tomato with a rocket launcher. Additionally, if he gets close to the player, he will shoot a rocket beneath him to launch himself and attempt to hit the player with a shovel mid-jump.
✦✦ Tomato Battalion: Spawn in groups of 4-8, with 1 slightly larger 'leader' among them. Every few seconds they will rush and jump around, swinging their swords wildly, before calming down around 6 seconds later. If the leader is still present they will all return to him and repeat the cycle, but if not they will simply rush from their current position next time instead.

Boss: Behemato and Obsidian

Appearance: The Tomonster from the previous event, renamed, but still very much the same in terms of appearance. A large tomato with a somewhat pill-shaped body and 4 powerful limbs ending on claws. It has a visible mouth lined with pointy teeth seen in its smile, and the leafy tuft on its head is large and unkempt.
Obsidian, the rider, is a small tomato with a scar over his left eye. His leaf tuft is also larger and more unkempt than average as well.

Stats: [Post-Moon Lord | Post-Game]
Health:
400,000 (565,000) | 3,225,000 (3,800,000) (Behemato)
100,000 (128,500) | 825,000 (1,000,000) (Obsidian)
Attack:
-200 (305) | 300 (450) (Behemato Melee)
-180 (270) | 278 (422) (Behemato Deathray)
-140 (200) | 230 (338) (Obsidian Melee)
-160 (225) | 265 (400) (Obsidian Chain Knife, Behemato Junk)
Defence: 55 | 172 +5% Damage Resistance

Attacks:
Phase 1:
Behemato is the only boss attacking at this point, with obsidian staying on his back. Only Behemato can be damaged at this point.
Behemato mainly specialises in melee attacks, but is surprisingly agile; often using rebounds and bounces to further enhance his mobility:
-He may leap toward the player with a lunge. At the end of the lunge, when Behemato hits a wall or the floor, he will curl into a ball and bounce once, uncurling and stopping himself upon landing again.
-He may jump into the air and spin once before diving toward the player. After the dive he curls into a ball and bounces around the arena for a few bounces before uncurling and stopping himself.
-Behemato may close his eyes and clench his teeth. After a few seconds he releases a giant laser from his mouth, aimed toward the player. The laser then sweeps upward for roughly a second before Behemato closes his mouth and cuts it off.
-Behemato may spit up a large cluster of junk in one of two ways:
--It may be a large inaccurate barrage. The pieces are affected by gravity, but only barely. The attack is very inaccurate and the pieces can be launched anywhere in a wide, 120-degree cone.
--It may be a large ball that travels only a short distance before hitting the floor, exploding and launching junk in all directions at high speed. This junk is also affected by gravity, and to a more noticeable degree.
At roughly 50% health, Obsidian will jump off Behemato's back and enter the fight himself.
Phase 2:
Behemato and Obsidian attack independently of one another, with Obsidian's attacks offset slightly to always begin roughly halfway through Behemato's. Both of them are vulnerable to damage and have their own health bars.
Behemato retains its original attacks, but gains one more:
-Behemato may roll into a ball and spin up to high speed before launching at the player. Behemato will ricochet around the arena walls. Near the end of the attack he will start being affected by gravity before eventually uncurling and stopping himself.
Obsidian has his own set of attacks, too, usually involving a chain knife. The chain itself is also red-hot and cannot be touched or the player will take damage:
-He may throw a chain knife-like weapon from himself that attaches to the arena walls. After the first one he will throw a second, wait around 2 seconds, and detach them both.
-He may throw a chain knife toward the player and pull himself toward it, then throw another at the player mid-flight, detach the first one, and pull himself toward the player again.
-He may jump up and grapple back to the floor with a chain, slamming down. The chain is roughly aimed towards the player, but always aims to hit the ground.
-He may throw the chain knife into one of the upper corners of the arena and drag it across to the opposite corner.
Defeating one of them will cause the other to increase their attack speed by ~25% for the remainder of the fight.

Expert Changes:
-Obsidian, upon landing, creates a shockwave that travels out from either side of him, dealing damage identical to his contact damage. These travel until they reach the walls of the arena.
-On top of the permanent 25% boost to attack speed, when one of the duo is defeated the other will receive a temporary 40% attack speed boost. This gradually decays down to the 25% boost over 30 seconds.

Post-Duality Changes:
-Expert mode attack changes are in effect regardless of difficulty.
-Behemato has increased movement speed across both phases.
-Obsidian's chain knives move significantly faster when thrown.

Defeat: Behemato's smile fades and he falls sideways before disappearing into a huge puff of smoke. Obsidian, meanwhile, will fall forward and try to catch himself with one of his chain knives, disappearing the same was as Behemato shortly after.
Defeating the boss variant will end Well-Rounded Tournament, as well as:
✦ Obsidian and the Behemato can be found in the factory area. Tomonster mainly just sleeps, but Obsidian will give the player items based on bosses they've defeated.

Lore: A giant tomato, monstrous in appearance, but more akin to a large dog that any sort of wild beast. Many have tried to tame it to varying degrees of success, and now the job falls to Obsidian; an old adventurous tomato with some history of encountering all sorts of strange and brilliant monsters. It seems the two of them get on excellently.

Extra Info:
-The Behemato, formerly the Tomonster, is another one of the major recurring bosses across all three versions of the Tomato Event. Unlike the Mato Mech, however, he has undergone few base design changes; instead simply getting small refinements and improved sprites in the past.
-Obsidian, similar to Metamorph, comes from the merger of another project. Unlike Metamorph, however, Obsidian went through significantly more changes during the merger.
-Obsidian, despite having a scar and using chain knives as weapons, was funnily enough not inspired by Kratos, as funny as it would've been.

Mission 8: To The Stars
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete at least three missions and defeat the Moon Lord
✦ Difficulty: ★★★★★
✦ Description: 'Tomatoes? In Space!? Truly absurd!'

A Post-Moon Lord mission themed around stars, space, and a little bit of magic and machinery. Two Mini-Bosses are present during the mission, though only one will spawn, chosen randomly. It is now nighttime, though the arena does not become noticeably darker.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Tomato Guy, Hi-Jumper, ToMageTo, Matocopter, Ninjamato
✦✦ Explodomato, Shieldmato, Captain Tomato, Robomato, Mowermato, Jetomato, Footballer Mato
✦✦✦ Tomanche Defence, Tomengineer
✦✦✦✦ Metamorph or Bunmato

New Enemies:

✦✦ UTO: A flying enemy that alternates between firing lasers and flying above the player and releasing a damaging spotlight.
✦✦ Orbitomato: A flying enemy that features three smaller orbiting minions. When close to the player it will launch the mini orbitals toward them that fly forward for a while before returning to Orbitomato.

Boss: Cherry Nebula

Appearance: A tomato girl with pink hair wearing a red and white outfit. Her outfit is composed of an open front dress with a white trim, red boots and red gloves that extend to the elbows. She also noticeably has a faint pink glow at all times.

Stats: [Post-Moon Lord | Post-Game]
Health: 385,000 (500,000) | 3,000,000 (3,450,000)
Attack:
-140 (200) | 230 (338) (Melee)
-160 (225) | 265 (400) (Stars)
-200 (305) | 300 (450) (Vortex)
-180 (270) | 278 (422) (Giant Stars)
Defence: 50 | 165 +5% Damage Resistance

Attacks:
Phase 1:
Nebula's attack style is somewhat similar to the Lunatic Cultist, where she will teleport to reposition herself between attacks. When she teleports pink sparkles are created which zig-zag to her destination, and a shower of harmless pink stars are created at both the start and end of each teleport. Most of her actual attacks involve stars as well:
-She may summon large amounts of stars far from the player that converge inward on their location. Once they all converge they release a burst of 16 stars out in all directions.
-She may appear wielding a Star Cannon-like weapon and fire a continuous dense stream of stars at the player. At the end of the attack she will sweep the cannon ahead of where the player is dodging, though the amount of stars launched during the sweep is significantly reduced.
-She may summon rotating rings of stars around the player. The stars start far away but converge inward, attempting to trap the player. The rotating direction and speed varies with each ring created.
-She may create a large bubble around herself and launch a star upward. After a short delay stars will rain down across the entire arena, too dense to dodge normally, though the area beneath Nebula herself is protected.
-She may summon a vortex that chases the player. As it does so stars will spawn far away that are pulled into the vortex over time. At the end of the vortex's lifespan it will expand and then explode.
At 50% health Cherry Nebula will spawn a Nebula Clone; an invulnerable pink clone of herself. She will then enter her 2nd phase.
Phase 2:
Nebula gains a single new attack in this phase, with most of the changes coming from the addition of the clone.
-The new attack has Nebula spawn giant stars in the background that, after a short delay, fall into the foreground and create large explosions. They fall downward as they travel slightly as well by a few blocks each.
The Clone's actions primarily serve to make Nebula's own attacks stronger. She will act alongside Nebula to indirectly enhance her attacks.
-During the 'star convergence' attack the Clone will teleport around and knock stars into the centre faster than they normally would have gone.
-During the 'star cannon' attack the Clone launches a few stars at the player herself as well.
-During the 'star ring' attack the Clone summons a large star and rides it, attempting to ram it into the player through a series of dashes.
-During the 'star rain' attack the Clone hides under Nebula and will try to 'shoo' the player away when they hide under her as well, though moves very slowly.
-During the 'vortex' attack the Clone is sucked into the vortex, being launched at the player when it explodes.
-During the 'giant star' attack gained in this phase, the Clone simply hides.

Expert Changes:
-All projectiles are faster, and in the case of the star rain attack the time taken for the stars to fall is reduced.
-The vortex will pull the player towards it as it chases them. It also moves faster.

Post-Duality:
-Expert mode attack changes are in effect regardless of difficulty.
-The Clone generally performs her actions faster in Phase 2.
-The vortex explodes into a burst of 12 stars upon expiring.

Defeat: The clone dissipates and Nebula will look angry, teleport away, and return with her Star Cannon-like weapon. However, the weapon malfunctions and explodes, launching Nebula into the sky.
Defeating the boss variant will end To The Stars, as well as:
✦ Nebula will appear in the circus tent area. She will ask the player to collect a few items dropped by rare Post-Moon Lord enemies in exchange for a couple of items, but aside from that mainly sticks around to chat.
✦ If both Nebula and Behemato are defeated the Mechamato from the Boss Ideas 10 event will appear in the factory and can be spoken to for a mount based on his hover-bike.

Lore: An otherworldly tomato said to have originated from the stars. Some wonder if she misses the world she came from, though she claims to not remember it well. She does, however, often look to the stars and wonder...

Extra Info:
-Cherry Nebula was first seen in the Boss Ideas 10 event, originally donning a modified set of Nebula Armour. She did, however, still have pink hair even then.
-She, like some other characters from the event, is named after a type of tomato; the Cherry Nebula.
-Nebula acts as the Behemato's counterpart for the same reasons as Beemato & Mermato and Mato Mech & Bunmato; having their missions unlocked at the same time.
--In her case, both missions introduce two Tier 2 enemies and have 2 mini-bosses each based on prior bosses. Both have similar stats in regards to damage, though shuffled. Both have 5 attacks in the first phase, and in the 2nd phase gain a 6th attack alongside a partner who fights alongside them.
[Added: 25/8/24]
Mission 9: Stormy Horizons
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete at least four missions and defeat Duality
✦ Difficulty: ★★★★★★
✦ Description: 'The skies have greyed and thunder is roaring! Someone powerful must be nearby!'

One of the late-game missions, bringing a lot of rushdown-focused enemies, flying enemies and magic users in an attempt to imitate the storm's ferocity and power. Two mini-bosses are fought here, roughly 1/3 and 2/3 of the way through the mission. The sky is dark and cloudy, it rains constantly, and lightning can be seen flashing in the background periodically.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato, Hi-Jumper, ToMageTo, Matocopter
✦✦ Explodomato, Tomimic, Captain Tomato, Soldiermato, Robomato, Jetomato, Matomarine, Tomato Battalion
✦✦✦ Tomanche Defence, King Tomato, Candy Cleric
✦✦✦✦ Mermato, Bunmato

New Enemies:

✦✦✦ Vortexmato: A small tomato that summons a dense vortex of storm clouds around itself. Flies after the player slowly, trying to pull them into the vortex. Surprisingly tanky.

Boss: Thundering Chimera, Stormato

Appearance: A strange tomato with an almost horse-like body structure. Wears a set of white and gold armour on its body, the tips of its feet, and the top of its legs. It has a long, flowing tail and a large mane that almost looks like a long unkempt beard at the bottom. Sticking out from the top of the mane is a horn, akin to a unicorn.

Stats: [Post-Duality | Post-Game]
Health: 2,400,000 (2,865,000) | 3,750,000 (4,200,000)
Attack:
-240 (364) | 280 (422) (Melee)
-220 (333) | 265 (400) (Lightning Bolt, Lightning Orb)
-260 (387) | 300 (450) (Lightning Pillar, Electrical Explosion, Electrical Shockwave)
-280 (412) | 320 (500) (Lightning Cutter Blade)
Defence: 105 +5% Damage Resistance | 175 +10% Damage Resistance

Attacks:
Phase 1:
Stormato will dash to varying positions around the arena and attack, usually preferring positions relatively close to the player. His attacks are all lightning or electricity focused in some way, usually indicating an attack will begin by his horn glowing:
-He may create a ball of lightning around his horn. Several lightning bolts will strike from this orb towards the player over the next 1.5 seconds before he throws the orb itself towards the player. The orb has a weak homing effect and moves quickly, exploding on contact with the player or a block.
-He may disappear for a moment. Shortly after, Stormato will begin performing horizontal dashes across the arena, telegraphed by a faint harmless lightning bolt to indicate his position. The dashes are aimed toward the player but are predictive. Usually he will perform 3-5 of these dashes in succession.
-He may perform a series of three jumps, each progressively getting higher. At the apex of the third jump he will coat himself in electricity and slam his front legs into the ground. This will create a huge explosion around himself and send shockwaves through all the arena ground, platforms included. Additionally, a diagonal pillar of lightning is created a few blocks in front of him that leans slightly back towards him.
-He may launch a volley of lightning orbs from his horn by swinging his head around. These orbs will decelerate at varying rates and, upon stopping, release 4 lightning bolts each. The directions the bolts are released are telegraphed.
When reduced to 50% health Stormato will stagger back and release a small explosion of electricity around himself. After this he will enter his 2nd phase.
Phase 2:
Retains all Phase 1 attacks, but noticeably has an increased attack speed. Gains a few extra attacks in this phase as well:
-He may shoot a bolt of lightning into the sky from his horn. After a short delay lightning bolts are dropped from the sky in 3 volleys. The first are evenly-spaced, the second are also evenly-spaced but fall in different places, and the third set has a slightly increased delay and fall randomly. The places the lightning strikes are telegraphed.
-He may disappear and begin dashing horizontally across the arena, starting from the top and working his way down. The frequency of the dashes reduces the further down the arena he gets, with the attack only becoming possible to dodge starting from around halfway.
-The arena may become increasing dark until everything is obscured. Stormato's horn will then light up in the darkness and he will dash at the player, slashing at them with his horn and creating a large crescent-shaped slash as he does so. When the slash is created the darkness immediately fades.
When reduced to 10% health he will stagger back again before launching a bolt of lightning into the sky and entering his third phase.
Phase 3:
The top 30% of the arena is now entirely coated in thick grey clouds. Entering these clouds will cause the player to be periodically struck with lightning until they leave.
While Stormato does not gain new attacks in this phase, his movement between attacks changes. The arena is filled with harmless after-images of Stormato dashing across the platforms and floor, with Stormato himself occasionally appearing in various places. The after-images disappear while he attacks, however, making it more clear where he truly is.

Expert Changes:
-Enters Phase 2 at 60% health and Phase 3 at 20% health, respectively.
-His dash attacks across both phases are faster and have a shorter telegraph.
-All telegraphs are less visible and appear slightly later than normal.
-Roughly 40% of the arena is now covered by clouds in Phase 3.
-Stormato's Lightning Cutter Blade is significantly faster and has a larger range.

Defeat: Shoots a continuous stream of lightning into the sky from his horn for a few seconds, then seems to suddenly disappear. The clouds also fade once he vanishes.
Defeating the boss variant will end Stormy Horizons, as well as:
✦ A new area is unlocked in the subworld; a high-up cliff. Stormato can be found at the top of this cliff and spoken to, but he does not grant any special items.
✦ The Tomamazon, seen alongside Stormato in the Boss Ideas 10 version of the event, can be found near the Village Centre. She can be spoken to and will provide the player a special item on your first interaction.

Lore: A powerful tomato with mastery over lightning. Stormato was originally a man-made chimera, created in an attempt to harness the natural magic abilities some tomatoes seemed to have. After the project was scrapped Stormato broke free and found his way back to his people, where he was quickly accepted amongst them. Despite this, he still seems bitter and justifiably cautious around humans.

Extra Info:
-Stormato is another returning boss from the Boss Ideas 10 version of the event. The original one, named the Tomatocorn at the time, lacked any proper lore and thus was redesigned much more significantly.
-The Tomamazon, seen alongside Stormato in his original fight, is no longer part of his boss battle and instead simply makes a cameo in the Village Centre instead.
-Attempting to use items that grant immunity frames by dashing into enemies (e.g. Shield of Cthulhu) will not protect you from Stormato's dash attacks, as he creates a damaging lightning trail as he moves. While you won't take contact damage, you will still be hit by the lightning itself, so it is best to simply play cautiously during the attack.
-It is technically possible to dodge the Phase 2 dash attack while he is still near the upper portions of the arena, but it is hard to do and generally not worth doing compared to simply waiting near the bottom for a safer opportunity.

Mission 10: Force of Nature
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete at least four missions and defeat Duality
✦ Difficulty: ★★★★★★
✦ Description: 'A crowd of many creatures are gathering! Someone powerful must be nearby!'

One of the late-game missions, featuring minion-spawning enemies or ones that work with or look like other creatures. Two mini-bosses are fought here, roughly 1/3 and 2/3 of the way through the mission. The air is filled with floating leaves and fireflies and flowers adorn much of the arena.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Tomarcher, Flower Crown Mato, Beemato, Fishmato
✦✦ Tomimic, Captain Tomato, Slime Rider, Discomato, Cupidmato, Mowermato
✦✦✦ King Tomato, Candy Cleric, Mummato
✦✦✦✦ Big Boy, Beemato

New Enemies:

✦✦✦ Half-Dryad Mato: A humanoid tomato covered in flora, has many abilities. She can summon an aura around herself akin to Dryad's Blessing that provides enemies with increased contact damage and defence and grants health regen. If the player gets close she can summon vines that extend toward them to damage then. She can also summon 2-4 Flower Crown Matos near herself if less than 20 are present in the arena already.

Boss: Grand Dryad, Mito

Appearance: Essentially a larger, more powerful version of the dryad enemies. Has long hair full of flowers and plants covering her body. Some of the plant life on her body also extends down to form something akin to a dress or skirt. Flowers appear around her frequently, floating in the breeze.

Stats: [Post-Duality | Post-Game]
Health: 3,000,000 (3,650,000) | 4,500,000 (5,250,000)
Attack:
-200 (320) | 250 (380) (Melee)
-260 (387) | 300 (450) (Flowers)
-240 (364) | 280 (422) (Vines, Lil' Beemato Swarm)
-220 (333) | 265 (400) (Petals, Leaves, Pollen Balls)
-280 (412) | 320 (500) (Solar Beam)
Defence: 50 +5% Damage Resistance | 120 +10% Damage Resistance

[Note: The Lil' Beematoes spawned by her attacks are considered projectiles and thus to not exhibit their usual properties.]

Attacks:
Phase 1:
Mito stays sat on a large flower at the centre of the arena in this phase. The flower itself does no damage. Mito's attacks are all projectile-focused, therefore:
-She may cause various giant plant bulbs to grow near the player. They will then open up to reveal teeth-like spikes on their petals before lunging at the player, snapping shut, and withering. Many are spawned throughout the attack and from varying angles, able to spawn from all sides of the player.
-She may summon vines beneath the player that rapidly grow upward to the top of the arena. 5 are summoned in succession, with them withering away after a few seconds. This attack can trap the player if they are too close to the arena walls or move sloppily.
-She may summon a large flower above herself and push it upward, causing it to fly off-screen. Petals will then begin travelling in from one side of the screen, all travelling in a slight sine wave motion. After a while the petals stop spawning and the pre-existing ones will begin accelerating to clear the arena faster.
-She may raise her hands, causing lots of large spinning flowers to fly from the bottom of the arena to the top, slowly accelerating as they go. After flowers begin reaching the top of the arena some will begin floating down slowly, all moving either left or right gently as they fall. Again, at the end of the attack, pre-existing flowers will begin accelerating to clear the arena faster.
When taken to 50% health she will flinch and her flower platform will lose some of its petals. The flower will then close up to indicate the beginning of phase 2, opening up again once the phase begins.
Phase 2:
In this phase Mito has the ability to teleport to one of three places in the arena, indicated by her flower platform closing up, sinking into the ground, and sprouting elsewhere before opening up again. Mito cannot take damage not attack during repositioning.
Mito retains her previous attacks, but gains a few new ones as well:
-She may create many large flowers around the arena that open up to reveal Lil' Beematoes inside. Each of these will either throw a fast, gravity-affected pollen ball at the player or an arc of 3 leaf projectiles.
-She may cause it to rain seeds randomly around the arena that sink into the ground. After a 2-second delay from the final seed sinking, vines will begin to rapidly extend to the arena ceiling from wherever the seeds dropped.
-She may create a large flower somewhere near the centre of the arena that attracts swarms of Lil' Beematos to swarm it from off-screen. Once all the Lil' Beematoes reach the flower they will all disperse rapidly in all directions faster than they approached.
-Mito may raise her hands and charge energy for a few seconds. Her flower platform's petals all fold inward, but after a second shoot open as a large beam of energy shoots into the sky. Once Mito stops firing the beam it will fire down from the sky from above the player, widening over the next second before dissipating.
At 10% health Mito will flinch again before hiding in her flower and repositioning herself to begin her final phase.
Phase 3:
In this phase Mito does not gain attacks, however at the start of the phase she will put both hands on her flower platform, causing vines to grow across much of the arena. The arena walls, ceiling and floor are covered in damaging vines, as are most of the platforms; only leaving the 4 isolated platforms in the upper half of the arena for the player to land on.

Expert Changes:
-Enters Phase 2 at 60% health and Phase 3 at 20% health, respectively.
-The 'snapping flower' attack flowers grow and attack faster.
-Both vine attacks' vines sprout and grow faster.
-The projectiles from both the petal shower and floating flower attacks are faster.
-The Solar Beam attack has a significantly shorter delay between Mito stopping firing the beam and it landing atop the player. The beam also increases width faster and expands out much further before disappearing.

Defeat: Wearily hangs her head so her hair covers her face as her flower platform loses its petals and wilts. The vines covering the arena also wither away rapidly.
Defeating the boss variant will end Force of Nature, as well as:
✦ Mito can now be found in the flower garden room in the hub area. Occasionally she will reward the player with rare materials, usually related to plants.
✦ The Atominationn from the Boss Ideas 10 version of the event can be found somewhere in the village as well, who will give the player a reward when spoken to for the first time.

Lore: The eldest of the half-dryads and the most skilled with her abilities. Described as gentle and soft-spoken regardless of the situation, Mito is said to be quite easy to get along with... that is if you like flowers, of course.

Extra Info:
-Mito is one of the only characters from the event to not have ties to any characters from either of the old versions of the event, nor from the merger of other projects. Of the bosses, only Mito and Mermato fit this criteria.
-While Mito acts as a counterpart to Stormato in terms of progression, some similarities other counterparts share are absent, such as their numbers of attacks and the post-fight rewards.
-Mito's fight is heavily built around the use of wings, especially in her final phase. Currently it is uncertain if her fight is realistically possible with double jumps from the Bundle of Balloons, however the final phase's arena changes combined with the functionality of certain attacks makes it unlikely.
-During the Lil' Beemato attack, Beemato herself has a rare chance to also show up amidst them. This does not affect the fight or attack functionality, however.

Mission 11: Test of Might!
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete both Stormy Horizons and Force of Nature
✦ Difficulty: ★★★★★★★
✦ Description: 'You seem to have gained the attention of a powerful warrior! He must be nearby!'

One of the hardest and longest missions, only unlocked by completing both of the other Post-Duality missions. A variety of strong enemies appear here, including a lot of enemies that can buff allies. The sky is cloudy and a strong wind seems to be blowing...

Returning Enemies:

✦ Tomato Guy, Knightomato, Ninjamato, Bucket Tomato
✦✦ Cheermato, Explodomato, Shieldmato, Tomimic, Captain Tomato, Jetomato, Football Mato, Tomato Battalion, Orbitomato
✦✦✦ Tomengineer, King Tomato, Candy Cleric, Vortexmato, Half Dryad Mato
✦✦✦✦ Metamorph, Mato Mech 3000

New Enemies:

✦✦ Beefeater: A large, tanky tomato; slow-moving but powerful. Usually carries some sort of melee weapon that it uses to attack with an overhead swing. If the player is entirely out of range it will throw one of the small tomatoes at them that normally sit on his back. He can throw up to 3 of them before running out, with the small tomatoes becoming regular enemies upon landing.
✦✦✦ Draconic Gigantomo: A huge, bulky, and incredibly powerful tomato. High health, high damage, decently mobile and capable of flight. Will fly at the player and attempt to melee them, but can also fire seeking fireballs from its mouth to attack from a distance.

Boss: Virtuous Warrior, Goliath

Appearance: A large tomato with a refined muscular build. He wears a pair of ragged white bottoms that seemed to be the lower half of a gi, complete with black belt tied at the waist. He wears no shirt, but does have wraps around his wrists and lower arms made of vines. He has a large beard and his leaf tuft atop his head is very long and flows freely.

Upon entering the arena he will briefly speak, congratulating their strength and telling the player he will only hold back a little, before beginning the fight.

Stats: [Post-Duality | Post-Game]
Health: 2,650,000 (3,125,000) | 3,875,000 (4,500,000)
Attack:
-260 (387) | 300 (450) (Melee)
-240 (364) | 280 (422) (Radiant Energy, Rocks)
-255 (380) | 290 (435) (Energy Blasts, Energy Pillars)
-280 (412) | 320 (500) (Radiant Fury Orb, Radiant Fury Explosion)
-320 (75%) | 400 (75%) (Shooting Star) [Inflicts Dazed - 100%]
Defence: 100 +5% Damage Resistance | 180 +10% Damage Resistance

Attacks:
Goliath will usually stand stationary between attacks, but moves into position incredibly quickly when he prepares to attack. His attacks usually involve him performing a melee attack of some sort, though this is often done to release energy attacks as a result:
-He may dash at the player three times and punch toward them. A large wave of energy is created that travels in the direction Goliath dashed for a short time for each punch, and with the third an additional explosion of energy is created around him.
-He may move to the far left or right of the arena and punch the ground. Energy pillars will then erupt across the arena. All the pillars reach the ceiling for the first 2/3 but any pillars beyond that point gradually become shorter.
-He may move to the far left or right of the arena and slam both fists into the ground. Energy pillars will erupt across the arena, evenly-spaced out. Once these fade he does it again to produce a second set of pillars in the gaps left by the first wave. Finally, he punches the ground with one fist that creates energy pillars that travel across the arena with no spacing, but these only reach 2/3 of the way to the ceiling and can be flown over.
-He may create a huge ball of energy above his head, called the Radiant Fury, and throw it down towards the ground. On contact, it will explode, releasing several bursts of energy blasts in all directions.
At 60% health he will strike a blocking pose and a faint glisten can be seen from his eye. He will then take a wide stance as red energy can be seen radiating from him. He will then begin Phase 2.
Phase 2:
Goliath now has an aura of red energy throughout the fight, though this is purely visual. He will gain 2 new attacks in this phase:
-He may fire a barrage of energy spheres near, but not directly at, the player that stop midair suddenly. After enough of them have been created Goliath will detonate them all in unison.
-He may go to punch the ground, where a glisten can be seen in his eye before the punch lands. Rocks will be launched upward from all around the arena floor at high speed. Larger, slower-moving rocks are also created.
The other major change in this phase is that Goliath enhances all his Phase 1 attacks, too:
-The 'dash punch' attack is faster and adds a 4th punch.
-Both 'pillar' attacks make wider energy pillars.
-Goliath can kick the Radiant Fury towards the player before it hits the ground.
Once taken to 20% health Goliath will assume the same defensive pose before standing completely upright and facing away from the player. He will turn around and a green glow can be seen from his eye, complete with glisten on the initial turn-around. He will then enter his final phase.
Phase 3:
Goliath effectively teleports between attacks and attacks faster, leaving little downtime. He retains all previous attacks, but enhances the two new ones from Phase 2:
-The energy sphere barrage is denser as Goliath fires more of them at a faster rate.
-During the 'rock' attack Goliath will teleport around and punch the larger rocks directly at the player.
-His only new attack this phase, dubbed the Shooting Star, has Goliath take a wide stance with one arm pulled back. After a short delay he will rush at the player and attempt to land a monstrously powerful uppercut, complete with star-like visuals and a rippling effect in the air around Goliath as he performs the uppercut for visual effect.
There is a slim chance in this phase that the player will see Goliath re-appear cross-legged, sipping tea calmly between attacks. It does not affect the fight, however, as the gag only lasts roughly 1 second before he disappears and attacks again.

Expert Changes:
-All of the Phase 2 changes to his Phase 1 attacks are in effect from the beginning, besides the Radiant Fury kick.
-Phase 2 begins at 65% health and Phase 3 begins at 30% health.
-The Shooting Star, if it lands, deals 75% of the player's max health on hit if it connects, rather than a set damage number. The duration of the Dazed effect is also doubled.
Mission 11: Test of Might! (Continued)
Defeat: Goliath will fall on one knee, his red aura will fade and his eyes return to normal. He will stagger back to his feet and bow, congratulating the player on their strength, before disappearing.
Defeating the boss variant will end Test of Might, as well as:
✦ Goliath can now appear at the cliff face area near the village and will invite the player to sit with him. He will award the player with a lot of Tomatokens by speaking to him the first time, useful for purchasing items from the shop.
✦ Speaking to Stormato again will have him grant the player a quest, which rewards them with a special item if completed.

Lore: A warrior with skills honed throughout many years of dedication. Well-honed in both body and mind, his training regiments are not for the faint of heart. When he isn't training, he's usually helping out in the village and giving out nuggets of wisdom to those who are willing to sit with him and listen.

Extra Info:
-Goliath, named after the 'bush goliath' variety of tomato, is another recurring character for Tomato Events. Originating from the same place as Big Boy and Tomantha, he has undergone the most drastic design changes since his introduction.
--Goliath had further ties to Tomantha specifically throughout their appearances, though it is not reflected here as strongly outside of some dialogue that can be seen by speaking with them in the tomato village.
-Goliath's attack, the Shooting Star, is the only attack from the event to deal percentage-based damage, and one of the only attacks in all of Boss Ideas 14 to do so as well.
-Dragon Ball obviously had a lot of inspiration on Goliath's redesign, ranging from the damaged gi to the 'ki' energy blasts, the radiating energy aura to the rapid movements akin to teleportation.
--The Radiant Fury is also a very obvious nod to the Spirit Bomb in execution, being generated above Goliath's head and thrown downward.
-The 'tea time' gag in Phase 3 has a roughly 5% chance to happen initially, though this is halved every time it occurs during the fight.

Mission 12: The Ultimate Challenge!
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete all other missions and enter the Post-Game
✦ Difficulty: ★★★★★★★★
✦ Description: 'The ultimate challenge! Go forth, for your final mission lies ahead...'

The single hardest mission, and by a significant margin. All enemy types are present, tougher enemy combinations are used, and no single wave is remotely easy besides the first wave that consists of just Small Tomatoes used to lull you into a false sense of security. There are also a total of 6 mini-bosses scattered throughout, usually picking between one of two counterpart bosses, save for a guaranteed fight against Goliath on the second last wave. The sky above the arena is full of glass-like fragments reflecting rainbow colours.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato, Tomato Guy, Hi-Jumper, Tomarcher, ToMageTo, Knightomato, Matocopter, Ninjamato, Flower Crown Mato, Bucket Tomato, Beemato, Fishmato
✦✦ Cheermato, Explodomato, Shieldmato, Tomimic, Captain Tomato, Slime Rider, Soldiermato, Beefeater, UTO, Discomato, Robomato, Cupidmato, Mowermato, Jetomato, Matomarine, Football Mato, Tomato Battalion, Orbitomato
✦✦✦ Tomanche Defence, Tomengineer, King Tomato, Candy Cleric, Mummato, Vortexmato, Half Dryad Mato, Draconic Gigantomo
✦✦✦✦ Big Boy or Metamorph, Beemato or Mermato, Mato Mech 3000 or Bunmato, Behemato & Obsidian or Cherry Nebula, Stormato or Mito, Goliath
That is, to say, all of them.

There are no new enemies left to add, save for the boss...

Boss: Radiant Guardian, Tomathena

Appearance: Tomathena, returning once again, now wearing a red dress with a gold trim and a golden belt around her waist. She wears a golden circlet on her head with a red gem in the centre. Her wings are larger, especially the bottom two, and her hair appears to be longer also. She is seen carrying a large, two-headed spear-like weapon with golden edges on the blades and a red handle.

Stats:
Health: 5,000,000 (6,750,000)
Attack:
-288 (430) (Melee, Spear)
-275 (412) (Spacial Rift, Reality Fragment, Energy Explosion, Giant Flower)
-265 (400) (Stars, Rocks, Lil' Beematoes, Small Tomatoes)
-300 (450) (Deathray, Vortex, Giant Energy Ball)
-400 (600) (Overload)
Defence: 150 +15% Damage Resistance

[The Lil' Beematoes and Small Tomatoes created are projectiles, not NPCs]

Attacks:
Phase 1:
In between her attacks, Tomathena will fly above the player, repositioning herself by teleporting when she goes to attack. She is stationary while attacking most of the time, though the speed of her attacks and her attack frequency mean she still moves often:
-She may spin her spear and throw it at the player, still spinning. The spear will stop at the player's location, creating a lingering spacial rift as it travels. Once it stops Tomathena will teleport, grab it, and then dash towards the player and slash at them. The slash creates another rift, as well as creating two bursts of star projectiles; the first burst dispersing faster than the second.
-She may teleport to the arena floor, usually in one of the outer thirds, spin her spear and throw it toward the player, with the spear creating a spacial rift as it travels. The spear will fly to the player's location, then down to the floor where it will continue spinning. The spear then moves across the arena floor back to Tomathena, creating more spacial rifts and launching a large amount of rocks upward that are affected by gravity.
-She may summon Lil' Beematoes to fly across the screen in evenly-spaced rows. Two rows are summoned at a time and may pass by horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. This attack can be used 2-3 times in succession.
-She may create two different 5-armed spirals of star projectiles from herself; one set rotating clockwise and one rotating anticlockwise. The rotating speed of each spiral increases slightly as they are created.
-She may call upon several small tomatoes that line up above the ceiling along some vines. These tomatoes jump down from above in evenly-spaced rows, with some tomatoes jumping down wrapped in flower-covered vines that cover the space between them. This attack happens 3 times in succession, with different spaces the tomatoes drop down from each time.
-She may spin her spear and collect a cluster of 'reality fragments' above her head; the glass-like fragments seen in the arena background, and split them into two groups. One group moves to one of the arena's top corners and the other moves to the bottom corner at the opposite side. After a brief delay one group launches horizontally across the arena, followed by the other group shortly after.
At 67% health Tomathena lets out a pulse of energy that creates a glowing ring of light around her. After this she enters her 2nd phase.
Phase 2:
Tomathena abandons her Phase 1 attacks and uses a new set in this phase:
-She may ready her spear and, after a random delay, dash at the player and slash. The dash creates a spacial rift and creates two bursts of stars; the first a set of 8 launched cardinally and ordinally, and the second a ring of 12 that disperse while rotating clockwise slowly.
-She may teleport around, firing arcs of star projectiles at the player every few teleports. The arcs consist of 3-5 stars each. The stars also accelerate gradually as they travel.
-She may spin her spear above her head, creating a large deathray-like laser that she then sweeps 360 degrees across the arena. As this deathray travels Tomathena also releases rotating rings of star projectiles from herself with varying rotation speeds and angles.
-She may create a vortex that chases the player, pulling them towards it. Stars are dragged in from off-screen as the vortex continues to grow. Once at maximum size the vortex explodes, launching star projectiles out in all directions at high speeds and creating a spacial rift where it was.
-She may summon bubbles that all contain small tomatoes, which all rise up from the bottom of the screen at varying speeds. After some of the bubbles make decent progress towards the ceiling all the bubbles pop in unison and the small tomatoes within them jump toward the player, though their jumping range is limited.
-She may call forth more 'reality fragments' that appear around the arena and begin spinning her spear. The reality fragments will begin moving, essentially rotating around the arena with Tomathena at the centre of the rotation. The rotation will speed up gradually for a while before the fragments all disappear suddenly.
At 33% health Tomathena will let out another pulse of energy, creating two light rings, teleport around frantically, and begin her third phase.
Mission 12: The Ultimate Challenge! (Continued)
Phase 3:
Tomathena will again make an entirely new roster of attacks for this phase.
-She may appear above the player and slam her spear down into the ground, creating a rift as she travels. Once the spear is embedded into the ground a large explosion of energy is created that expands outward for a while before stopping and shrinking. While it shrinks it releases frequent bursts of stars, alongside a random barrage of stars in all directions.
-She may create a large, star-shaped flower near the centre of the arena. Lil' Beematoes will fly from off-screen and swarm the flower. As more and more Lil' Beematoes gather, the flower releases random, scattered bursts of star projectiles that increase in the number of stars launched as more and more Lil' Beematoes gather. Once the Lil' Beematoes stop coming, they will all disperse over the course of roughly 2 seconds and the flower will explode into a burst of star projectiles that rotate clockwise as they disperse.
-She may create a giant energy ball and throw it at the player, with the ball having homing properties. After a while Tomathena will dash at the ball and slash through it, causing it to explode and creating a long spacial rift across her path. The energy ball explodes over the course of several seconds, and as it does so it releases a 4-armed spiral of star projectiles rotating clockwise, a 4-armed spiral of stars rotating anticlockwise, and frequent bursts of stars that don't rotate.
-She may teleport to one of the outer thirds of the arena and slam her spear into the ground. She will then charge up energy for a moment before unleashing it, causing the energy in the spear to 'overload' and create a massive green explosion that expands rapidly until it engulfs ~80% of the arena. Afterward the energy fades and Tomathena briefly appears to be asleep, though a small tomato runs in and nudges her to wake her back up, where she immediately flares back to life.
-She may summon several 'reality fragments' around the arena before firing several random bursts of stars from herself. These stars ricochet off the fragments in random directions and can also ricochet off the arena walls. After a while the fragments disappear, as do the stars shortly after.

Expert Changes:
-Phase 1 ends at 75% health, and Phase 2 ends at 50% health.
-At 25% health she will enter a new, fourth phase, indicated by a pulse of energy that creates three rings of light:
Phase 4:
Tomathena regains all her attacks from Phases 1, 2 and 3 in this phase. She does gain one new attack on top of these, though uses it rarely:
-She may summon a small tomato wearing a football helmet. She will nod to it, it will nod at her, and she will throw it toward the player. The tomato travels at insanely high speed and is only very slightly affected by gravity.
This attack is used incredibly rarely, with roughly a 1% chance to happen. Most of the time she will use her more 'serious' and dangerous attacks.

Defeat: Large white cracks appear behind her and she folds her wings inward, covering herself. A white light begins glowing that gradually intensifies, and after a while fades away. When it fades Tomathena will be gone, though in her place are tiny reality fragments and sparkles that fade away after a few seconds.
Defeating her ends the Ultimate Challenge, as well as:
✦ Tomathena can now appear in the village. When spoken to for the first time she will reward the player with her spear as a weapon. Despite its appearance, it actually operates as a magic weapon.
✦ Confetti will slowly fall while the player is in the Village Centre to indicate the player's victory.
✦ The Bonus Shop will open; a shop that sells a large amount of tomato-themed vanity items such as vanity costumes and transformation items that turn the player into a tomato or a small tomato.

Lore: A tomato with powers unrivalled by her peers. Her abilities even seem to warp reality itself to an extent. Some tomatoes wonder if this is the reason they feel more invigorated as you progress despite not being that strong normally - perhaps her subconscious desire to protect her friends acts out on its own...

Extra Info:
-Tomathena's design is still very similar in concept to her previous two designs, retaining the long hair, dress and 4 wings in each iteration. The biggest differences between this version and the Boss Ideas 10 version are the red dress and additional spear.
-Tomathena's attacks across her normal phases follow an interesting pattern. She will have a few attacks that essentially act as enhanced or modified versions of other bosses' attacks, then an attack featuring small tomatoes, and then an attack utilising reality fragments.
--Phase 1's use the Pre-Hardmode and early Hardmode bosses' attacks (Big Boy, Metamorph, Beemato, Mermato)
--Phase 2's use the Post-Plantera and Post-Moon Lord bosses' attacks (Mato Mech, Bunmato, Behemato, Cherry Nebula)
--Phase 3's use the Post-Duality boss' attacks (Stormato, Mito, Goliath)
--The only phase not to follow this pattern is Phase 4, since it only adds a single 'joke' attack
-Despite Phase 4's attack addition being a 'joke', it is still surprisingly dangerous. The speed the tomato is thrown at makes it incredibly difficult to dodge at even long range without the player already moving, and is practically impossible when close.
-Tomathena's spear cannot be given as a reward for mission completion, making the one rewarded for beating her totally unique. It is one of the only items related to the event and subworld in-general that is one-of-a-kind.
-This mission is the only 'main' mission to use all enemy types and to not introduce any new enemies, as all of them are already present.

✦✦ Cheermato, Explodomato, Shieldmato, Tomimic, Captain Tomato, Slime Rider, Soldiermato, Beefeater, UTO, Discomato, Robomato, Cupidmato, Mowermato, Jetomato, Matomarine, Football Mato, Tomato Battalion, Orbitomato
✦✦✦ Tomanche Defence, King Tomato, Candy Cleric, Mummato, Vortexmato, Half-Dryad Mato, Draconic Gigantomo
✦✦✦✦ Big Boy or Metamorph, Beemato or Mermato, Mato Mech 3000 or Bunmato, Behemato & Obsidian or Cherry Nebula

Boss: Stormato

Mission I: Endless
✦ Unlock Requirements: Complete The Ultimate Challenge
✦ Difficulty: ★★★★★★★★
✦ Description: 'An endless wave with no continues. Score as many points as you can!'

A mission where defeating enemies grants points, and defeating stronger enemies grants more points. The mission consists of a single wave that gets progressively harder the more points the player collects. Because this is a single-wave mission, no boss is present. All Tier 1, 2 and 3 enemies can spawn, though tier 3s spawn sparsely at the start.

Returning Enemies:

✦ Small Tomato, Tomato Guy, Hi-Jumper, Tomarcher, ToMageTo, Knightomato, Matocopter, Ninjamato, Flower Crown Mato, Bucket Tomato, Beemato, Fishmato
✦✦ Cheermato, Explodomato, Shieldmato, Tomimic, Captain Tomato, Slime Rider, Soldiermato, Beefeater, UTO, Discomato, Robomato, Cupidmato, Mowermato, Jetomato, Matomarine, Football Mato, Tomato Battalion, Orbitomato
✦✦✦ Tomanche Defence, King Tomato, Candy Cleric, Mummato, Vortexmato, Half-Dryad Mato, Draconic Gigantomo
✦✦✦✦ Big Boy, Metamorph

Because this wave is endless, the mission simply ends when the player runs out of health. Their best scores are saved and can be seen by clicking on the mission before you enter the arena. Rather than just being a regularly-structured wave, the endless wave has special properties:

-All enemies also receive small buffs over time to their stats, usually through small increments based on points the player has accumulated. The boosts' caps are +900% HP, +4900% attack, and a +25% damage resistance.

-While no truly 'new' enemies spawn, a special variant of enemies called 'Empowered' enemies can rarely spawn. Empowered enemies have a golden glow, increased move speed, and massively increased health. All non-tier 1 enemies can potentially spawn Empowered besides Explodomato.
Empowered enemies only begin spawning after the player has accumulated a decent amount of points, and initially only 1 can be active at a time. However, if the player progresses far enough, the spawn cap for empowered enemies can increase up to a max of 5. The first few that spawn will all be tier 2s, though tier 3 and even tier 4 empowered enemies can begin spawning later.
Defeating empowered enemies grants tons of bonus points.

-Big Boy and Metamorph can begin spawning after the player accumulates enough score. Only one mini-boss can be active at a time.
[Bestiary Entries]
All Bestiary entries for the regular enemies. As bosses have been already covered they will not be covered again

✦ Tier 1s ✦
Small Tomato: The little guys, small and determined. Don't let their small stature fool you; they're highly capable with all manner of fancy gadgets.

Tomato Guy: Humanoid tomatoes have a tendency to look fairly similar to the untrained eye, however they are easily able to identify each other based on chemicals released from the base of the stems from their head that act as unique identity markers, so they can easily tell the difference.

Hi-Jumper: A small tomato with an enthusiasm for jumping. Putting in as much practice as they have, they mastered the ability of jumping to insane heights and landing as gently as a feather.

Tomarcher: A tomato skilled with a bow and arrow. You'd think they'd upgrade to more generally-effective weapons given the tech available to them, but they don't want their years of practice to go to waste. Archery competitions between them can sometimes get very intense.

ToMageTo: Tomatoes seem to have a natural talent for magic, leading to a lot of them pursuing the craft and becoming mages. The robes they are seen with are the most popular because they are the comfiest, though the hat is admittedly just a modified party hat.

Knightomato: Tired of being seen as the 'little guy', these small tomatoes have had elaborate mech suits fashioned for them from wood and metal. The suit's mace-like hands give it a lot of power behind its punches, though the suit is fairly useless outfit of battle.

Matocopter: A helicopter, fashioned to look tomato-esque. While you'd think the theming was becoming excessive, the pilots actually find it kind of funny.

Ninjamato: A tomato trained in the art of ninjitsu, or at least that's what they claim. In reality, they simply hand-made the outfits after getting the idea from reading manga.

Flower Crown Mato: One might wonder exactly why these guys seem stronger than their flower crown-less counterparts, and the answer is simple; maaaagiiiiic.

Bucket Tomato: Sometimes you want to prepare yourself better for battle. Sometimes the only thing you have with you is a bucket. Sometimes you just have to make do with that.

Lil' Beemato: Fans of Beemato, these lil guys adopted a bee costume and asked the ToMageTo to enchant them a set of wings. Sometimes they get a little too engrossed in the bee roleplay and can be found sleeping in flower beds after failing to collect pollen.

Fishmato: A fish that looks like a small tomato. Unlike the Lil' Beematoes, this isn't a costume; these are straight-up fish.

✦✦ Tier 2s ✦✦
Cheermato: A tomato who really enjoys cheerleading, rallying on her allies even in the heat of battle. Her secret? Headphones and happy tunes.

Explodomato: A sea mine on wheels, created by the engineers when they had too much free time. Ended up proving effective, so they just kept making them by taking sea mines the Matomarines find on their travels.

Shieldmato: Wanting to defend his allies, Shieldmato approached the engineers to ask if they could help. They created a shield that, when wielded, creates a barrier to protect those fighting alongside you. How helpful!

Tomimic: A tomato by dubious categorisation. Nobody really knows where the small tomatoes it spits come from, not even the tomatoes themselves.

Captain Tomato: A tomato who enjoys supporting his team. In fact, he's so dedicated to the role, that he appears in every mission! Now that's dedication!

Slime Rider: A slime that was determined to tame a powerful monster, ended up having to downsize a few times. Ended up, at the very least, taming a slime.

Soldiermato: Patriotic and dedicated to the cause. Carries a rocket launcher and a shovel and has many strange ideas about how rockets could be used. How he hasn't blown himself up is nothing short of a miracle.

Beefeater: A giant mutant tomato. Despite their grumpy visage, they are actually very friendly and give the small tomatoes piggyback rides when he has the time.

UTO: A tomato with a desire to explore space and meet aliens. Given the lack of tech available to them, and the Martians' hostility, they compromised with a UFO-inspired flying machine.

Robomato: A mechanical tomato, built by the engineers just to 'see if they could'. Accepted amidst the other tomatoes without question when it showed signs of intelligence and, perhaps, sentience.

Cupidmato: A tomato that loves love. Flies around, trying to shoot 'love arrows' to help people fall in love, but the sight of a winged creature firing projectiles at you from high in the air usually causes people to panic instead, so her bow is often confiscated.

Mowermato: Groundskeepers of the arena, using their lawnmowers to keep the grass cut short. Got a little too carried away with the whole 'battle' thing and drove the mowers into battle to... limited success.

Jetomato: A high-flying tomato with a love of flying fast and performing stunts. The jetpack is actually magic, as trying to maintain a regular jetpack simply didn't work given how often he uses it.

Matomarine: Naval captains, in charge of well-armed submarines packed with missiles. Likes seeing the impact of the missiles firsthand, which is a decision that always goes badly.

Footballer Mato: American Football. Football. Rugby. whatever you call it, this guy loves it. The small tomato loves it, too, so they banded together to become a powerful duo aiming to land that game-winning touchdown.

Tomato Battalion: A group of tomatoes that, despite being well-armed and armoured, aren't exactly trained well for battle. Their strategy usually involves just running around a lot, swinging wildly toward their opponents.

Orbitomato: A tomato of strange origins, believed to come from another world. Wants to help Cherry Nebula find her homeworld, but space is perhaps too expansive for them to truly ever find it. Their presence does help her calm down when she's feeling homesick at least.
[Bestiary Entries] (Continued)

✦✦✦ Tier 3s ✦✦✦
Tomanche Defence: Apparently inspired by some sort of 'monkey army' trying to fight evil balloons. Pilots an armoured helicopter that automatically calls in remote-controlled mini-helicopters during battle. Only 3 can be controlled at a time, but it seems they keep many backups stocked up. Who knows how many drones exist.

Tomengineer: A skilled engineer that tinkers with gadgets big and small. Their team are responsible for the creation and maintenance of most of the machines you see other tomatoes use.

King Tomato: Husband of the Candy Cleric and ruler of the tomatoes. Not above getting his own hands dirty and willing to join in with these skirmishes as he enjoys how invigorating they are. Can empower his allies in battle with his magic sceptre.

Candy Cleric: Wife of the King Tomato and queen of the tomatoes. Despite being a queen she prefers her original title of 'Candy Cleric' as she enjoys the alliteration. Uses a magical lollipop mace to heal her allies and defend herself.

Mummato: A spooky, ghostly tomato. In reality, he's simply messing around with potions and trying to spook his friends. Invisibility potions for the transparency, gravitation potions for the flight, and healing potions to create his revival effect. Often feels a little sick from all the potion-drinking and so has to sit-out after a spooking.

Vortexmato: A tomato with mastery over electricity, creating a swirling mass of stormclouds to protect himself. This vortex has a habit of pulling things into it, including other small items used by the tomatoes and, rarely, the odd small tomato stood too close. They are fine when released, if a little dizzy, but will have a potent static charge built up for quite some time.

Half-Dryad Mato: Half-dryad, half-tomato. Born long before the Moon Lord's invasion and absent from the battle due to the isolated homestead of the tomatoes, they don't realise they're some of the last dryads left. If you spend any amount of time near her you will end up smelling like sweet-smelling flowers, and may even find many flowers on your person afterwards.

Draconic Gigantomo: A large, monstrous creature vaguely related to the tomatoes, and seemingly to dragons as well. Borderline feral, needlessly violent, and hungry for battle; they live high in the mountains, far from the other tomatoes. However, they can smell battle from miles away and will trek down from the mountaintops during great clashes in order to fight strong opponents.

[Final Notes]
And with that, the third part of Boss Ideas 14 is up and ready. Wanted to bring back the tomato event with the changes to the art and hope this rendition proves even better than the older ones. 'v'

I'd apologise for everything being so wordy, but that's basically a guarantee for Boss Ideas stuff in-general, so I'm hoping it's alright. Did manage to compress the segments this time, so hopefully navigating through the chapters is also smoother this time.

If you liked this and got here without reading the original page, or have yet to read the Lab page, or you just need the links for any reason, those can be found here:

Anyways, to avoid making this section too wordy too, I hope you enjoyed, and I hope to see you next time for the fourth and final page of Boss Ideas 14 whenever it is finished.

See you next time 'v'
