How to Get Both the Hat and Pizza Box through the Gargantua Chase in Surface Tension

Are you stuck trying to ferry both the Hidden Hat and the Pizza Box through the Gargantua Chase in Surface Tension? Struggle no longer with this easy trick! Works on all difficulties

Before Starting the Chase

You will want to make sure that your health and suit are reasonably high. Depending on how fast you move the items you may need to tank some damage from the gargantua



Before starting the chase, throw one of the items into the room first. I recommend the hat because it will travel farther.

Reaching the Hiding Spot

Once you start the chase you will need to quickly ferry both items a short ways. Depending on how fast you move the items you may need to take some damage.

The items need to be moved to at least as far as the bottom of the ramp in the screenshot below.

Once you get both items to at least the bottom of the ramp quickly duck behind the white car in the corner.

Just like in the original game, hiding in that corner behind the car confuses the gargantua and makes it go back towards the other room.

Finishing the Chase

Once you hear the gargantua move away, you can leave the hiding spot and retrieve your items


As long as you don't get too far up the ramp the gargantua shouldn't spot you. Although sometimes its patrol path moves it closer to the ramp which can re-initiate the chase. If that happens just hide behind the car until it goes away again.

Once you get the items just ferry them to the end door and the chase will be over!


Once you get outside the gargantua will be triggered and teleport to the end of the corridor you just left. You then have a few seconds to stash your items somewhere safe and get ready to blow the gargantua up with the missile launcher on the tower.
