Before we start
You can fast travel between chapters at any time from Keeper’s Shrines.

There’s still free-roam after the story. After the end-boss you are put back in the Title Screen, here choose to Continue, it will spawn you before the final boss. You can still revisit all places from this point. Just don’t “Enter a New Cycle” in the Title Screen as this starts New Game+ and overwrites your save with no way back.
Tips & Tricks
General Tips

Harvest everything you see.
You'll find plants to harvest early in your adventure, but they won't have much use until you reach Chapter 2 and find someone to teach you how to craft your own medicines. Don't wait until then to begin harvesting though—it's still worth grabbing any you find so you can craft as much as you need when the option is available. The more supplies you have in stock, the more advantages you can bring into a fight, including buffs to attack power, damage negation, and resistance!

Experiment with different playstyles and stances. Since you can reset your skills at any point when resting at a Shrine, try experimenting with different playstyles

Upgrade and customize your gourd.
Your healing gourd can have a lot of customisation the deeper you get into your adventure. You'll be able to find different Gourds that can have a certain amount of use or extra effect, Drinks that can heal you all at once or over time, and Soaks that provide additional effects along with the health boost. Try tailoring the Soak or Drink to your current challenge: a higher health boost at the cost of healing over time is better when exploring versus going against a fast-paced boss, and certain soaks may allow you to gain resistance to a certain enemy attack.

Once your Gourd has been upgraded to absorb Spirits,
You can gain an additional benefit: Absorbing Green Wisps. Not only does this get you Will, but replenishes an additional use for your Gourd.
If you defeat a tough enemy or Miniboss that leaves behind its Spirit, you'll replenish your entire Gourd once it's claimed!

Not every enemy respawns when you rest at a Shrine.
Certain unique enemies or encounters, or those who grant a Spirit when killed won't respawn. The same goes for very tough enemies like the Bandit Chief in the Forest of Wolves, and the Wolf Assassins in the Black Wind Cave.

Upgrade your staff when you can.
The staff is the only weapon you'll need to use, but you'll be able to follow different branches and upgrade it to have certain effects and buffs from your Keeper's Shrine. Always check what you're running with if you're struggling with bosses. Some staffs will give you buffs to stances or spells. But if you're not using those particular ones, you might as well swap to another version of the staff.

You should watch for side paths
While your overall progress is quite linear, the routes between the shrine checkpoints do have branching paths that are almost always worth exploring. You’ll usually find at least a chest or even an optional boss fight.
Those boss fights will also give you plenty of XP and usually some rare upgrade materials as well. If nothing else, you’ll find some ingredients. Which will be useful… eventually.

Embrace running away
you’ll run into an enemy called a Wandering Wight. The first time you meet it, you can’t beat it. (Well, it’s possible, So they say)

Resting at checkpoints isn't automatic - or necessarily a good idea
Finding a checkpoint shrine for the first time activates it as a respawn point and somewhere you can fast travel to, but you won't get your health and gourd refilled until you choose specifically to rest at it from the checkpoint menu.

Build your focus for Heavy Attacks, not Varied Attacks
Focus points are largely used to perform high-power strikes, but there's two significant versions: Varied Attacks, which are mixed into ongoing light attack combos, and standalone Heavy Attacks which can be charged.
It's the latter that do HUGE damage, and the ones you should be trying to do more often, especially in boss fights. Varied attacks are quick to use,
but if you can fully charge a heavy attack in the Smash Stance, you'll do an unbelievable amount of damage: it's just the better investment in combat.

Don't craft every weapon and armor you unlock
New recipes for crafting weapons and armor in Black Myth Wukong usually unlock along with certain milestones for defeating certain bosses, getting some key crafting component from them that can forge new equipment or upgrade existing stuff. However, unless you're willing to spend a while farming Will and components, you probably don't want to craft everything that's put before you.

But do craft Medicines whenever you can
Wukong undersells the importance of Medicines, the consumables that grant temporary buffs, but these unassuming potions are game changes when used right. You can buy potions from the fox merchant that appears in chapter 2, but also craft them yourself from many of the plants you find around. Keep in mind that certain plants are limited to certain regions, so you may want to head back to the locations of previous chapters to stock up on the necessary materials.

The Smash Stance is the first, and best stance
Wukong introduces several stances that determine the nature of what Varied and Heavy attacks you do - and the best of them is the first one the game gives you, Smash Stance. The fact it can be charged while moving, is straightforward, and integrates fluidly into combat with few upgrades means that while the other Stances work, there's rarely anything as effective as bashing an enemy's skull in.
  • Chapters have hidden Vessels that can be game-changers in boss fights
  • Invest in Foundational Skills first, as you'll get the most out of them
  • Spells should be used sparingly, and more for defence than offence
  • Equipping a Spirit isn't just about using their attack.
  • Each Spirit also provides a passive buff when you aren't using the Spirit Attack.
  • Check-in at Shrines regularly to see new stock.
  • New items become available after clearing areas of taking down bosses.
Combat & Exploration

  • Know when to use your Heavy Attack in a combo vs when to charge it up or unleash it on its own.
You can upgrade each stance to have your Varied Combos behave differently which can be helpful in certain fights, but expending all your Focus Points at once to unleash a charged hit can easily stagger tough bosses.

  • Sometimes you'll have to face off against archers or ranged attackers on high ledges with no easy spot to reach them.
In fact, there is a way to close the distance -- you can jump and perform a heavy attack in midair to gain extra height before slamming down, which can often give you the boost you need to reach their platform.

  • Alternatively, Cloud Step will get you past ranged attackers without being spotted.
If you prefer a stealthier approach, or you're just trying to get beyond a row of archers, using the Cloud Step spell can help massively. Enemies will focus on your replica and leave you to sneak past.

  • You'll know when you've performed a perfect dodge, because replicas of your character will appear.
You'll even see multiple of yourself if you can perform chains of dodges. If you're finding that you're good at evading attacks, invest in skills points along the Stamina tree that will allow you to dodge without having light attacks interrupted, increase the focus you gain from dodging, and even create an illusion of your character that will explode.

  • Enemies with shields have a separate durability bar for their shield above their health.
In order to waste less time breaking it down, bait out attacks that leave them open, get behind them, or use Immobilize and Cloud Step to pierce past their defense.

  • Don't forget that the Destined One has jump attacks, too!
A light jump attack can be a safe opener to spring you toward an enemy with a kick while leaping back to avoid danger. A heavy jump attack on the other hand can instantly expend all your Focus Points for a very quick smash attack -- and can often be used to defeat regular enemies before they can react.

  • Understanding the difference between Spirit Attacks and Transformation Spells is vital to surviving tough encounters.
Spirit Attacks will temporarily transform you into a Yaoguai to unleash a single attack before returning to your form. During this time, you can't defend yourself, and can still take damage. When under the effects of a Transformation Spell, you'll have an entirely different health bar - which includes status effects - meaning you can transform to get out of danger or get hit with a status effect that won't stick around when you transform back.
Follow the golden path.
If you're not sure where you're going at any point, when you're close to a shrine, a golden trail will appear. This will take you to the nearest Keeper's Shrine, so let the light lead the way.

There are treasure chests and boxes to find along the way.
Some treasure chests are golden and obvious, while others are harder to find and look like wooden logs. On top of this, you'll find smaller boxes near altars where you can collect essential upgrade items, Gourds, Soaks, and more.

Look for gaps and holes in the walls. It's not always easy to see all the hidden paths and places that you can explore in Black Myth: Wukong, but if you see a crack in the wall, it's worth investigating. Sometimes, these will lead you to hidden treasures, key items, and spirits that would otherwise be out of reach.

Prisoner Quest
There’s an NPC in the prison cell at Pagoda Realm > Lower Pagoda. It’s not yet known how to solve his quest. There’s also a big empty hall to the right of the shrine Pagoda Realm > Snow-Veiled Trail, it could be related to this quest or the Captain Spirits Quest.

Captain Spirits Quest
During the Chapter you can get the 4 Spirits of Captains. Unlike regular Spirits that go in the equipment menu, these spirits go in the Key Items inventory.

The description in the inventory says to offer them to the Silkworm Deity. It’s not yet known how to do this.

Another key item you earn in Webbed Hollow is the “Proto-Amourworm”, it’s dropped by the Elder Amourworm boss.
He’s found at Webbed Hollow > The Verdure Bridge: To the left of this shrine go over the green bridge, then turn left, then turn right to get a cutscene with the lady, then go through the treasure room on the right (5 golden chests in it).
Behind the treasure room is this boss. This key items says it’s used in the metamorphosis of Amourworms but it’s unknown how to use it.

List of known Purple Altars (there might be more):

Chapter 5: Flaming Mountains

Five Element Carts Quest
Quest Start: Woods of Ember > Ashen Pass I: From this shrine go to the next corridor where a lot of bulls and undead soldiers are fighting. A miniboss will spawn here called “Pale-Axe Stalwart”. Defeat him, then talk to him until he repeats the same line of dialogue. He gives you the quest to find all Five Element Carts in Chapter 5.
Five Element Cart Locations:

1)Brown-Iron Cart – Woods of Ember > Ashen Pass I: From where you fought Pale-Axe Stalwart go up the stairs to find this boss. Story-related, unmissable.

4) ??? (unknown)
5) ??? (unknown)
– there is a cart stuck in the Lava Lake at Furnace Valley > Valley Entrance. When coming from the shrine it’s on the right side of the lava lake. Talking to this cart only results in the same line of dialogue, someone is stuck in the cart and wants to be left alone. It’s not yet clear how to solve this step.

Old Man Quest
Quest Start: Furnace Valley > Rakshasa Palace: From this shrine go upstairs and over the bridge. Then take the left path to reach a room with the Old Man NPC. Exhaust all dialogue with him.

(Chapter 1) How to Reach Secret Area Bell Locations
In Chapter 1 of Black Myth: Wukong you can find 3 Bell Locations. Ringing all of them will bring you to the Chapter 1 Secret area called “Ancient Guanyin Temple”. In this area you find the boss “Elder Jinchi“, beating him unlocks the Temple of Taint achievement.

Bell 1: Behind Guangzhi boss
Forest of Wolves > Outside the Forest: from this fast travel point take the left path, go across the wooden bridge and follow the torches along the path to reach the boss arena at the end. He looks like a big wolf with a flaming staff.

Bell 2: Behind Guangmou boss
Bamboo Grove > Snake Trail: when facing this shrine, jump over the cliffs on the left to get to the lower area where a river is. Then turn right, go past a snake enemy, it leads to a big bamboo wood area. Follow the paved path to the end of the area past two torches to reach this boss.

Bell 3: Behind Whiteclad Noble boss
Bamboo Grove > Marsh of White Mist: after the Whiteclad Noble boss take the left path before entering the big cave.

Upon ringing the third bell you are immediately teleported to “Secret: Ancient Guanyin Temple”. Here you find the secret boss Elder Jinchi. Defeat him, afterward you can interact with the body hanging from a tree in front of the third bell to obtain the Vessel Fireproof Mantle. This will be very helpful in the fight against the Chapter 1 endboss, it protects against fire damage and lava on the floor.

Elder Jinchi (King) – Secret Boss
Strategy: Elder Jinchi is a stronger version of the Wandering Wight boss from earlier. His basic moveset is identical but he does longer combos and has more health. He is surrounded by his minions. After he falls below half health, he will float in the air and his minions will walk towards him. Kill them before they reach him, otherwise he will absorb them to heal himself. Sometimes he will make the minions glow golden and they will run towards you and self-detonate. Simply run away from them and they won’t pose a threat. Just like Wandering Wight, the Elder Jinchi is prone to staggering from quick-attack combos (particularly from the last hit in the combo). Start by using Immobilize spell, land some quick-attack combos, then use the transformation spell and use heavy attacks with it. Now mostly focus on dodging his attacks, they are easily avoided by running away and keeping your distance. When Immobilize has recharged, use it again. After he misses long combos, get close and do a quick-attack combo, if you can finish the combo you may be able to stagger him. Also use running heavy attacks, they deal decent damage against him while you wait for Immobilize to recharge. When transformation has recharged use it again too.
Reward: 2000 Will, Fireproof Mantle (vessel) *looted from the corpse that hangs off the tree in front of the 3rd bell, after beating the boss and being teleported back there.

(Chapter 2) Buddha’s Eyeballs Locations
The 6 Buddha’s Eyeballs. This is required to trigger the secret boss fight against “Shigandang“.

Buddha’s Eyeball #1
Fright Cliff > Squall Hideout: Directly in front of this shrine, the head will call out to you. It looks like a Buddha head made of stone with glowing yellow eyes. Hard to miss as you’ll walk right past it when entering the Fright Cliff for the first time.

Buddha’s Eyeball #2
Fright Cliff > Squall Hideout: From this shrine take the path on the right and go up the wooden stairs where some enemies are shooting projectiles at you. On top of the stairs you find this head, it will be calling for you and the eyes are glowing yellow.

Buddha’s Eyeball #3
Fright Cliff > Squall Hideout: From this shrine go right and then immediately turn left, where a walking rock enemy is. Walk past this enemy and head up the path (don’t go down into the lower area). Along the path leading up is this head.

Buddha’s Eyeball #4
Fright Cliff > Squall Hideout: From this shrine take the left path until you can go up into a cave. There you find the Buddha head, it will call for you (you can hear it from a distance) and it has yellow glowing eyes.

Buddha’s Eyeball #5
Fright Cliff > Rockrest Flat: Enter the cave opposite the altar (before the altar), when entering the cave immediately turn right and go up the path. Follow the path to the end, there you’ll find the Buddha Head. Past the Mother of Stone boss.

Buddha’s Eyeball #6
Fright Cliff > Rockrest Flat: To the immediate left of this altar in plain sight.

Deliver the Eyeballs to the rock with faces on it where you fought Stone Vanguard to trigger fight against Shigandang.

Strategy:
This boss is very similar to the Stone Vanguard. You have one advantage, after defeating Stone Vanguard you unlock a new armor set for crafting which will make this fight easier. Pretty much the same tactic that applied to Stone Vanguard also applies here. Use Immobilize spell whenever it’s recharged, consume medicine before the fight to buff yourself, dodge the melee attacks and only use quick-attack combos. By dodging to the back of the boss he will often miss you with his attacks and you can safely land some hits. If he jumps in the air dodge away. If the floor becomes lava get away.

Reward: 1374 Will, 2x Yaoguai Core, Heart of Stone (material), Mind Core (material), Skandha of Feeling (Key Item)

Dropped by Boss: Poison Chief 1 – Foothills > Verdant Path: After you unlock the spell to fly on a cloud, stay on the upper plateau and fly left until you reach a small pond area with a quadratic rock sitting on a meadow. Dismount the cloud and go near the rock, it’s a boss. Looks like a rock that throws poison balls after you go near it (initially just looks like a quadratic rock). This is on the left/west of the upper plateau, BEFORE flying down to the big lake area.

Dropped by Boss: Poison Chief 2 – Foothills > Verdant Path: After you unlock the spell to fly on a cloud, stay on the upper plateau and fly right, stick to the right wall/edge of the area, stay on the upper plateau (don’t fly down to the big lake). You will reach a brown soil area (no green trees like the rest of area). There you find a quadratic rock, approach it to reveal this hidden boss.

Dropped by Boss: Water-Wood Beast – Foothills > Verdant Path: After you unlock the spell to fly on a cloud, this hidden boss is found in the back left corner of the lower lake area (the side from where you come from Verdant Path, not the far corner in the distance). Fly to the left/west of the area and you will see a disturbance in the water, the boss pops out of there.

Dropped by Boss: Son of Stones – Foothills > Verdant Path: After you unlock the spell to fly on a cloud, fly straight forward to the cliffs at the end of the area past the big lake. On the cliff sits a big monster, its head is glowing green which makes it easy to see from afar, it’s this boss.

Dropped by Boss: Gold Armored Rhino – Foothills > Rhino Watch Slope: After you unlock the spell to fly on a cloud, stay on the upper plateau and fly right until you reach the edge of the area, looks like a brown area without trees. When you approach you automatically get a cutscene, this is one of the mandatory story bosses that you must defeat to collect all armor pieces, so can’t miss him. This is BEFORE flying down to the big lake area. It looks like a big rhino with gold armor on its back, has a lot of health.

Dropped by Boss: Cloudtreading Deer – Foothills > Deer Sight Forest: after unlocking the flying cloud, fly forward over the big lake and to the right, where you see red trees.

Dropped by Boss: Emerald-Armed Mantis – Foothills > Mantis-Catching Swamp: After you unlock the spell to fly on a cloud, fly to the top left corner of the lower lake area. There is a big yellow tree. When you approach you get a cutscene that triggers this boss fight. If it doesn’t spawn, make sure you defeated the other 3 story bosses in the area for their mythical armor pieces (Gold Armored Rhino, Cloudtreading Deer, Feng-Tail General).

New Game Plus
How to Unlock New Game Plus Beat the Final Boss and Start a New Cycle

To unlock New Game Plus, you'll need to finish Chapter 6 and beat the final boss. Once the credits end and you're back on the start menu, clicking on "Enter a New Cycle" will start New Game Plus.

Unlock the Secret Ending Before Starting NG+
Before starting New Game Plus, it's recommended to head to Chapter 3's Secret Area and defeat the bosses there to unlock the Secret Ending. Once you've beaten the Final Boss a second time, you can go ahead and start New Game Plus!

What's New in New Game Plus?

The 6th Relic: Freed Mind

Freed Mind is the sixth and final relic in the game. It's only available in New Game Plus, and it has some very powerful effects that make replaying the game much easier.

A New Spell: Life-Saving Strand

In New Game Plus, you get a new spell called Life-Saving Strand. This is a passive that you can't cast, but it will revive you whenever you drop to 0 HP.

This shares the same slot as A Pluck of Many, so you'll have to decide between one of the best spells in the game and the ability to resurrect after dying.

New Character Journal Entries

You get two new Journal Entries, The Great Sage's Broken Shell and Yuan Shoucheng, when you start New Game Plus for the first time. If you want to unlock all achievements and get every journal entry, then you will need to play New Game Plus first.

Increased Difficulty and Rewards
Enemies and Bosses are slightly harder in New Game Plus, and they give more EXP and Will. However, because of all your upgrades and the new relic that you get, fights will still be a lot easier this time around.

What Carries Over in New Game Plus?
Items, Levels, Equipment, and More!
Most of your items, level, and equipment will carry over into New Game Plus. This includes any of your Spark and Armour upgrades that you've made.
Some Items Don't Carry Over
As a note, some items like the Ruyi Scroll and Key Items don't carry over. Thankfully, it looks like most other items like consumables and crafting materials carry over!

Again, you can use an Immortal Blessing Gourd for an attack increase, but you'll have lower Health recovery. Also, you can replace any of the Spirits, Curios, Soaks, and Spells if you wish.

Reliant on the Deathstinger Curio
This build is extremely reliant on the Deathstinger Curio since it's the main way to poison yourself. It's obtained from defeating the Scorpion Prince Spirit in the Verdure Bridge area during Chapter 4.

For All Armor achievement you need Venomous Armguard from the Chapter 4 Daoist in the cocoon, by only hitting his back to cut his arms off.

Yah I'm not gonna do NG++ for that so I guess I'll be 2 achievments short of perfect ;_;
