Why translate Portal 2 into Hebrew?
It was a fun thing to do. Hopefully there are people who will have fun playing this.
Installation
It is recommended to run the game prior to installation, to make sure you have the latest version of Portal 2.

The files are here:
https://github.com/sigmagamma/portl/releases/tag/0.9.4

Windows Installation
download portal-2-hebrew-installer.exe . Choose the name for GLaDOS, and then choose the installation folder (should be chosen automatically).

Linux and Steam Deck Installation
For Linux or Steam Deck, Download either portal2-hebrew-glados-linux.zip or portal2-hebrew-mabsuta-linux.zip, and extract them to the main "Portal 2" folder, overwriting existing files.
The Linux\Steam Deck version is considered "functional", in the sense that it had very basic testing, and the font isn't much to look at.

If installation fails, or something else doesn't work, verify the game files for Portal 2 from Steam (the cog in the game page in your library-properties-installed files - verify game files), and try installing again.

FAQ
* Why is this not on the workshop?
Unfortunately, the solution for Hebrew alignment would not be supported there
* What about speech in Hebrew?
This would be a very large undertaking - we're specifically looking for someone to manage such a project, if you're interested, please find us in Discord: https://discord.gg/rPGDan8TGu
* Why are only some of the images translated?
Maintaining a high quality for this feature takes a lot of effort, so we didn't translate all of the images, but will possibly translate more in the future.
* Did you translate any other games to Hebrew?
Yes! you can find the entire catalog for the Hebrew Adventure games here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZCnoP14ewZ89ab_AdaUqHiWoGMyge4v8GjoZvjjZje4/edit?gid=0#gid=0
* Would this work for other RTL languages such as Arabic?
Yes, and we'd be happy to help with other translations. Black Mesa was translated to Arabic using the same solution.

Hello!
I am the lead dev of the mod Aperture: Salt Mines and would like to make the mod accessible to a larger language base than is offered by Steam, one of which being Hebrew! We have a translator for all our dialogue, so I was wondering if we would be able to use all of your translated Portal 2 content (not textures or voice lines) as a base for our mod's translation.
We would be happy to get extra help getting our game translated, but as we already have a translator, no worries if not :)

Cheers!
