Description
Fall Before Me!

Tomoko, the icy executioner of the Reaper’s Warning universe, is here to destroy the competition in Rivals of Aether. Bereft of her humanity, Tomoko shows no mercy in the use of her various disjointed weapons– a playstyle that makes her a “distance demon” able to easily dominate space through brutal, powerful attacks.

Special Moves

Down Special: Ice Wall

Tomoko’s down special has her create an ice wall– her primary form of stage control. Holding the SPECIAL while using this move spawns the wall further away from you. After the wall is created, it slowly moves in the direction opposite to where Tomoko was facing. Both Tomoko and her opponent can hit the wall, which pushes it away. The wall is a solid object, so it can be used to block an approach, give yourself cover, or simply menace an opponent. If a player is launched into a wall hard enough, they will “splat” onto it, temporarily rendering them immobile!

Neutral Special: Ice Gun

A projectile attack attack in which Tomoko conjures a gun made of ice and fires it. Normally, this is a quick but weak projectile, but charging the move up turns it into a powerful laser with a ridiculous amount of range! Both the uncharged and charged versions of this move can be reflected off of your Ice Wall, which sends the projectile flying upwards at a 45-degree angle as a trickshot.

Forward Special: Frozen Kiss

A short-ranged projectile in which Tomoko fires a shard of ice at a downwards angle. On contact with the ground, a wall, or an opponent, it explodes and hits multiple times.

Up Special: Ice Lift

Tomoko creates a platform of ice to lift herself and any opponents caught in the attack into the air. During the startup of this move, before the platform is created, PARRY be held to cancel it into pratfall as a feint. Pressing USpecial again while standing on the platform will cause Tomoko to ride it upwards before slamming back down into the ground– which can also be cancelled into pratfall with PARRY and gives you your Platform back.

Other Notable Moves

Tomoko’s DTilt, Zweihander, can be jump cancelled on hit. If you land the tipper, it can be jump cancelled even earlier.

The third part of her Knife-Tanto-Sword Jab combo will send aerial opponents out on hit, but spike them if they are grounded.

Is she from something? She feels like a character ripped right out of Guilty Gear and that's not an issue at all for me. She lowkey a baddie fr.

i dunno if turbo was tested, as not many play with turbo, but tomoko has a pretty unique bug. so, with turbo, all moves that hit repeat their frames as many times as you press the inputs, and the hitboxes also repeat along with those frames. so if i were to start u-strong, and then dash attacked, the u-strong hitbox is still active and travels with dash attack.

Thoughts on increasing Tomoko's wave dash distance? Since her speed is slow and her jump is average, a slippery wave dash ( similar to Luigi's) fits well with the ice powers and acts as a more mobile ground option.
