Hyper Realistic Economy

Description
Hyper Realistic Economy transforms the entire economic system in American Truck Simulator. As a result, the game becomes significantly more realistic and consequently more challenging. This mod is designed for players who prefer the HRPG (Hard RPG) style, for whom realism and an accurate depiction of a professional driver's career are paramount.

Important: For the mod to function correctly, it is advisable to add it to your list when creating a new profile. The mod is not compatible with other mods of the same type.

- Improved System of Bank Loans - As a freshly minted truck driver who has just received their license, you'll face a unique challenge - lack of experience and stable income means your creditworthiness is limited at the start. Banks will look at you with caution, and getting a larger loan might be difficult. However, this is part of an exciting journey that adds realism and makes every earned penny more meaningful. You begin with small steps, relying only on what you can earn yourself and short-term loans for small amounts. As your career progresses, banks will recognize your potential and open new opportunities, offering higher credit limits. This challenge adds depth and realism to your road adventures. Are you ready to take on this challenge and rise to the top?

- Realistic freight rates and market conditions - While it's true that there is a global shortage of millions of truck drivers, this doesn't mean that the best contracts are just waiting for you. Experienced drivers and big companies have their own networks and know the right people, so transport offers appear and disappear in the blink of an eye. For newcomers, this means that finding jobs won't always be easy, especially in your local area. Realistic freight rates and job availability are dictated by market conditions, adding authenticity and realism. Prepare yourself for a real challenge – compete for contracts, build your reputation, and find your path in a world full of competition!

- Engaging Fines and Repairs System - Welcome to a world where every mistake can cost you! This mod emphasizes realistic repair costs and a fines system for traffic violations. Forget about leniency - every fine is a lesson in humility that can hit your wallet. Even if the officer doesn't note "reckless driving" next to your name in the system, you'll still feel the weight of justice. The fines are realistic, but not so lenient that you can feel at ease while committing further violations. Unless, of course, no police officer is watching. Just don't tell anyone!

- Extensive Used Truck Market - Dreaming of a brand-new truck straight from the showroom? Keep dreaming boy, because for now, you can only afford a used vehicle that's long past its prime. As your boss once said: "If you work really hard, one day, maybe, JUST MAYBE, you might afford one. Or maybe you won't. Now get back to work!" But don't worry. We've made sure that local dealerships and auctions are full of fresh lemons, I mean, well-maintained and serviced trucks from authorized service centers. Just do it!

Further and specific changes also include:

- New credit limits, dependent on the player's level:
Level 5: $5,000
Level 10: $10,000
Level 15: $70,000
Level 20: $100,000
The credit limit increases by $25,000 every 5 levels
- Realistic credits based on creditworthiness and payment methods: credit card, charge card, flexible credit, investment credit
- Decreased co-insurance level.
Insurance will cover a maximum of 75% of repair costs
The minimum deductible is $1,060 for basic services
- Realistic cost of purchasing and expanding a garage
Basic price for purchasing a garage with 3 truck slots: $359,000
Cost of expansion by 2 additional slots: $175,000
Passive income from each garage is lower, as it first serves the company’s drivers. Only afterward does it serve external customers:
Starter garage: $6,000
Basic garage: $15,000
Fully functional garage: $32,000
- Realistic driver working hours: 11-hours of work required 10-hour break
- Realistic fee for employment agency services for recommending AI drivers
Wages for AI drivers correspond to the rates players received when completing quick jobs
- Updated fuel prices in each state
- Realistic rates for each type of cargo
Special transports (especially with escorts) and hazardous materials have increased rates per mile, reflecting real-world rates
- Increased penalties for abandoning a job or damaging cargo
- Realistic rates and waiting times for truck assistance services
- Realistic fines
More realistic police response time to committed violations
Receiving a fine now depends on the presence of cameras or police patrols and the chance of third-party reporting

Who is this mod for?

I’ve spent many hours playing American Truck Simulator. As a fan of economic and strategy games, I always aimed to develop my company, accumulate capital, and build an impressive fleet. Unfortunately, the game often turned out to be too easy, and when I reached the point of buying the first few trucks for my employees, I started to feel a lack of challenge. Owning hundreds of trucks is cool but took away the thrill. I’ve found that the real fun comes from the process of achieving goals, not from reaching them too quickly.

Of course, everyone has their own play style. You might prefer buying your own truck and investing earned money into further modifications and upgrades. And that’s great! However, I find the most joy in slowly gaining experience and gradually achieving success. It’s the challenges and the satisfaction of looking back at the journey I’ve made that make the game truly exciting.

If you also want to experience a challenge, face real difficulties in striving for your market position, and take satisfaction in patiently working towards your success, this mod is for you.

Game Version Compatibility:
- 1.50 - 1.51

Last but not least, special thanks to Kris for his help, which allowed the work on the mod to progress more quickly.

Leveling up shouldn't be too hard. It becomes impossible after level 12

Hi does this mod also change ferry prices ? Ferry prices ate too much in the base game. If this mod does not have that what file needs to be changed ? Also is this mod good for 1.53 ?

Hopkins, it sounds like that's the point. The new driver is building his or her cash before they can get a loan big enough to buy a truck. I don't know of any new drivers immediately going out and getting a chonky big loan for a new truck, instead they work for a company for a time to build experience, reputation, and cash.

Wait.... while you seemingly get less xp and you only get 5k on lvl 5 you have to do quick jobs forever until you get a real loan where you can afford an used truck. That loan system is ridicilous, absolutely bs.

Gotta say this is an awesome mod and has really changed the way I play the game!
I would highly recommend it to anyone who finds the base game too easy. I started a new save with this mod and really enjoyed the grind of starting working for someone else and then I bought a used truck that was so awful that it was constantly breaking down and I had to sell it after 2 loads because the breakdowns were giving me late penalties.

I have would love to see this mod work with the special halloween and christmas delivery events. It worked with the Arkansas event but not these two so I had to disable it to get the World of Trucks rewards.

An error that they must correct is that at the moment of crashing, they do not charge me anything and that the truck is damaged very quickly.

FYI, I had to temporarily disable this mod in order to start the Happy Hauloween World of Trucks tournament.

ToxicNet, I've experienced the need to force an economy reset with different economy mods. It isn't this mod, but it seems, some changes to the economy can cause this to happen. I've seen it where by drivers have no loads to take with other mods too and the economy reset fixed it. :)

Ok small fix is pasting "uset g_force_economy_reset 1" and going back to title screen. But im not sure if that should be intended way to play with the mod
