Description
General Background
Life in City 14 is deeply worse than in City 17. The Civilian Protection is much more agressive, brutal and civilian-beating is commonplace.
You have been sent here by a mysterious man, in a weird building, and your only chance to survive is a "run and shoot" process. You have lost your memories and your escape will cause the resistance to wake up, and you will have to deal with the Combine force lead by the doctor Breen, the one who will later be seen in Half-Life 2.
Remember, "the right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world."
Before City 17, there is City 14...

Prequel to Half-Life 2?
In HL2's first chapter "Point Insertion", you meet two citizen who say that they are disappointed to find the doctor Breen in City 17, after what he did in City 14.
So, I tried to imagine what events did take place there...

Recommendations
To avoid CTD(Crash To Desktop) or frame drop, please follow these instructions:
  • Use the 'x86-64' branch of Garry's Mod if you are using 64-bit OS.
  • Disable or unsubscribe from add-ons you don't use.
  • (only if the game is still broken) Factory reset Garry's Mod.
I didn't experience any frame drops or CTD while testing this map, so if you experienced any, that might be your environment's problem.

I personally recommend you to also subscribe SC Tools for better experience.
Warning
The textures of the weapon spawned by the map are missing. The original mod didn't include any material or model for those weapons, so I don't know why this happens. You'll have to just bear it. This does not affect the weapon viewmodel or dropped or spawned weapons, so you'll only see this a very few times.

Although the original mod is marked as 'released', its story isn't finished. Expect the mod ends out of the blue.

I only test map(s) with Sandbox gamemode with Singleplay environment. I do not guarantee that this add-on will work with any gamemode or Multiplay environment.

I didn't make these maps. I just ported these maps to Garry's Mod. All credits should go to original author, Mangatome.

odd, I also randomly got a Half-Life: Source weapon (Specifically the .357 magnum)

I mention HL1 because the RPG at the end of C14_m2 looks like the RPG model from HL1.

Highly unlikely. This map is released as 'addon' of HL2 on ModDB, and compiled for HL2. It can't use HL1 weapons at all, because there are no HL1 weapon data in HL2 FGD.

Also, that can't explain why HL2 pistol also missing texture, because in HL1, pistol's class name is 'weapon_9mmhandgun' or 'weapon_glock', but in HL2, pistol's class name is 'weapon_pistol'.

Chances are the mod might have used the HL1 weapons which would explain the weapons having missing textures.

There was going to be a continuation of this mod, but since the original author was last active very long ago, it has been stalled (and implicitly, silently cancelled).
