mod s are copied from workshop folder when you start the game
you can find them in workshop folder directly

but actually most of them are just scaled version from the original image

Where can I see the Achievement portraits? Can I even see them appart from when unlocking something? It would be nice to see them in the stats menu where custom ones also show up, if supported.

open console and click the "Benighted Soul" button on top left
you can disable the curses in options

Hold the drop key to open a chest. (in case some loss)

All benighted characters are surely overpowered so that winning a run in vanilla game is easy.
But we prefer to add challenging mods / contents to balance it than short down their abilities.
