How to get past 8,000 points for Sky Chase Act 1 and how to get past 20,000 points for Sky Chase Act 2 easily (Steam version only). Other info on fishing, mission emblems, and chao raising included.

Sky Chase: Turn Down Your Resolution!

That's all there is to it. When booting up the Steam version of this game, choose to "Configure Sonic DX" and set the resolution as low as possible (640 x 480 @ 60Hz). The aiming reticle for the Tornado will cover a lot more area and won't have to be as precise. Getting these emblems is barely possible when playing in 1920 x 1080 as I tried that for hours and hours without thinking to lower the resolution. It also helps to lock onto multiple enemies by holding down the shoot/attack button and releasing it to shoot enemies for more points. Also, shoot the projectiles the turrets launch at you for extra points. http://youtu.be/LtzDLY8ciL4 If you are not given the option to "Configure Sonic DX" when clicking the Play button in your Steam Library, make sure that the game is up-to-date.

Fishing >_<

• Constantly tugging on the line with the control stick (when reeling in the fish)
  
• Constantly pressing (not holding) the jump button instead of attack for faster reeling
  
• Getting as close to the fish as possible when casting
  
• Firmly pressing and holding down on the control stick to land the fish on the hook
  
• If the fish starts swimming towards you, stop reeling and let it swim towards you.

Also, for the IceCap zone, you need to aim your lure just past the water and on the ice to make it land in the water (weird, I know).

Remember that the Run stat is almost always the most important stat! Having a Chao with an A rank in running from the start can save you a lot of time. Also, using the animal glitch (for Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle) will save even more time. However, I find it way easier to do the animal glitch in the Gamecube version than in the Steam version. In the Steam version, Sonic seems to get pushed around more and is harder to keep in place when he goes to regrab the animal.

For anyone still struggling with Skychase's emblems I found turning the frame rate down helped me get 20,000 points for some reason. I don't know what it changed or if it even actually made it any easier but I found myself with 19,000 points by the time I got to the boss.

Turning down the screen resolution is such an incredibly ridiculous tip. Even more ridiculous is that it WORKS. I could barely break 3000 points on Act 1 in 1920 x 1080, but cranking down to 640 x 480 got me over 8000 on my second attempt. Not something I would have ever thought of, so thanks a ton for putting that in your guide!
