Shader Compilation FIX (13 + 14 GEN INTEL CPU'S)

Fix for 13900K and 14900K processors.

The Problem

Unreal Engine 5 causes issues with Intel 13th and 14th gen CPUs most notably 13900K and 14900K processors. This is caused when the game is ran in Directx12 mode. But for First Descendant, you can't use directx11 or older, so here is a general fix on this so you can play the game.

The Fix

1) Download Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) . (Can't link here, use search engine to find on intel website)








2) Head to the Advanced Tuning Section




3) Scroll down to Per Core Tuning


These are my defaults for my intel 13900k. YOURS MAY VARY

3) Lower your cores Ratio Multiplier


4) HIT APPLY


5) Launch the game and see if the instability is gone.

NOTE: IF LOWERING TO 54X DOES NOT WORK, TRY GOING LOWER TO 53X OR EVEN 52X.

Author Notes

THIS MAY NOT FIX ALL ISSUES. This is what worked for ME after multiple hours of troubleshooting and days of suffering with other UE5 games . In other UE5 games you can used -dx11 as a launch option in steam to make the games work.

FIRST DESCENDANT DOES NOT SUPPORT ANYTHING EXCEPT DX12. This is a known issue with these CPUs. They degrade after only months and the normal clock speeds become unstable.

I fixed the issue by disabling overclocking in the BIOS on my MSI Godlike and just went standard turboboost (default). It was smooth sailing after that.

its funny i have been doing this on all games since i got the cpu . I just turn it to 5.0 and i nver have any issues on any game . cuz it even crashes like cod games . and even league of legends new vanguard anti cheat with vgk.sys bsod .

I have an older i7-6700K and this is still happening. But can't use this program on it sadly even though it is an unlocked CPU.

I set my pcore ratio to 52X to even get my PC running and I set my pc power plan to power saver mode.
