OEBB Rh 2143

The Class 2143 is a diesel-hydraulic locomotive of the Austrian Federal Railways. It was produced at the same time as the Class 2043, but by the Simmering-Graz-Pauker Werke.
77 units of this type were built.
The areas of application are non-electrified main and branch lines.
It was mainly used in eastern Austria.
It also ran trains to the Slovakian capital Bratislava.
The last locomotives were used from Wiener Neustadt for shunting on the line.
Currently, the last locomotives have already been parked and are waiting for retirement.
Some of them survived and are housed in museum associations.
Some locomotives have been bought from the company RTS and where fundamentally renewed. These are used on construction sites.
