// SUMMARY

UA: The Great Hunger: Trade Routes provide +3 Gold and +1 Food. Triple plunder from Cities and Barbarian camps.

UU: Irongut: replaces Knight. Slower, but stronger, and heals slightly with every kill.

UB: Maw Pit: replaces Temple. +1 Food, +5% Food, +1 Faith. +1 Food from Sheep and Cattle. Costs no maintenance.

// DISCUSSION

The Ogres are all about food and gold. The Maw Pit gives a tremendous boost to Food, especially if you have many animal resources nearby, and saves on gold, but will hamper your ability to generate Faith. If you can manage happiness, you should be able to grow tall, strong cities, and direct their energies to whatever victory condition you please.

Greasus Goldtooth is known for his understanding of the importance of trade, and so the Ogre UA reflects this; you should pursue trade routes aggressively and produce lots of units in the early game to raid Barbarian Camps for your bonus plunder. Transitioning from there to an attack on a neighbour is trivial, so a Domination victory is a clear possibility, but lots of gold and powerful cities can be turned to any victory condition you wish.

A good way to launch your push for Domination is to store up happiness before the Medieval era, when you spam Ironguts and launch your attack, aiming to cripple a couple of neighbours or rivals: compared to the Knight it replaces, the Irongut's extra strength, ability to heal after each attack and the fact that it neither costs Horses nor suffers the drawbacks of mounted troops make it a really dangerous unit.

As an AI, Greasus is a sneak and a bully. He loves to expand, grow and hoard gold, and can actually be quite cooperative: he's easily bribed into attacking others, quite fair in trade and reasonably easy to befriend. However, he has low loyalty and is quick to declare war if you give him an excuse. He loves to bully City-States.

Mostly working at the moment: For whatever reason, I've noticed a bug specifically with player 1 *not* being able to select them. Very very odd. Will test in multiplayer when I can.

Nice faction! Really interesting to play as it, with it and against it. My only concern is that in the "strategic resources view" of the map, the Ironguts are invisible, unlike other units. I see it happening in a lot of mods, and I don't know what causes it and how some other mods don't have this problem.

Hi there. I am the original artist for the ogre you are using as the picture for this mod. I don't mind you using it so long as you are not profiting from it, but can you please credit me? Mike Tenebrae

Can you upload a version of this mod with an additional UU or UB? I want it to be balanced against .chalaux's "Generic Fantasy Civs" and Oranos' Atlantean civ. Thank you!

i appreciate your hard work and support in that, its a shame steam is being diffikult sometimes as it creates more work for others. but when/if you uppdate your wonderfull mods and i learn of it they will be downloadet as fast as possible :)
RSJ-87  [autor] 20 JUL 2015 a las 18:03
@b-loeber: ah I see, and yes you're right, I'd have to manually re-upload the latest version of each mod to the Dropbox, and then you'd have to manually redownload and reinstall it. I'll be sure to announce when new versions of each civ are uploaded. Thanks for the kind words, glad you're enjoying the mods. :-)

only that if you add more stuff to the other mods i dont think steam would automatically uppdate them, as they vere downloadet from drop-box and not true steam-workshop, i could be wrong i have no idea how this works, my computer skill is minimal :P in any case i like your mods and enejoy playing with them. you are doing a good jobb and i lokk forword to see the other factions you have planed :)
