[MOG] Nocturnal Beauty

Description
Nocturnal Beauty [MOG]
Making Nights look gorgeous.

Credit
This Mod has been heavily inspired by ice-design's Mod Darker Nights - NightOps Fix. Thanks go to them!

Features
Choose from a variety of mood-setting color palettes
  • Abyss of Darkness: as black as it gets while still allowing you to actually see what's what
  • Blood Moon: everything tinged a deep crimson
  • Dusk till Dawn: orange-red for that gloomy feeling
  • London Cheer: like a rainy night in the British capital
  • Melancholy Calm [default]: bluish tones that make it feel like a quiet night
  • Noir: if you want to feel like a 50s sleuth, this is your theme
  • Swamp Thing: it is green, and a sane person would dread it… you're gonna like it
  • Watery Grave: for those nights when you just want to stay under the surface of a calm body of water
  • Vanilla: …why did you even install this mod?!
  • Custom: allows you to set the tone just right, no limits… also no guarantees – you mess this up, it's on you. Enjoy!

Each palette is available in three different strengths, for more or less departure from Vanilla
  • Absolute: Fully replace the Vanilla Lightmodel
  • Light: Tinge the Vanilla Lightmodel with the new color palette but leave some of the original
  • Strong: Between Light and Absolute
Every environment in the game can have an individual color scheme based on terrain, time, weather.
This gradation allows you to keep some of that alive while still pushing towards a different aesthetic.
Additionally, the Absolute strength is usually quite dark and you may just not want to go that far.

Set a different color palette for each type of dark environment
  • Night
  • Fire Storm
  • Dust Storm
  • Rain Storm
  • Underground

Create your own color palette
  • Color gamma: dial red/green/blue channels up or down
  • Desaturation: as monotone or as colorful as you want
  • Exposure: make it brighter or darker
  • You can use this to create a new palette. Then send me a screenshot of your settings and I may just include it in the set of palettes

hey, is it possible to make mod that removes rain visual effect?

I assume that it makes sense to run this with ice-design's Mod Darker Nights - NightOps Fix

Can you see a pattern in when the setting does not get applied?
If you could provide a screencapture, that might help me debug the issue. You are welcome to open a ticket on github: https://github.com/my-one-god/JA3--nocturnal-beauty/issues

Hi! Sometimes the night setting doesn't applies after changing it in the mod option.

I agree with the removal of the highlighted silhouette, if possible, and as an option - that would even be better. But it's already great as it is.

You can remove the highlighted silhouette from the mercs when they are in the dark =) it will look even better

    @Sir Ni
    - Option to remove the mercs highlight
What do mean, exactly? The mercs are affected like the environment.

    - Shortcut to navigate thought all modes, like CTRL-SHIFT-N = "next" in this state
    I'll look into that.

    - Keep the good work, very good taste yours
    Thanks, appreciate it

They all are. The screenshots are from a nightly Dust Storm scene. The color palettes are intended to make darkness visually more appealing. Personally, I think that "Melancholy Calm, Strong" most resembles a natural night, which is why I made it the default.

I added a screen of the options. Hope that makes it clearer.
