Main difference between irony and sarcasm is that sarcasm is intended to verbally ''attack'' someone.
Irony : There's nothing like a good war to put global economy back on track !
Sarcasm :
- Damn it, John was late again this morning.
- Yea well, you know how serious John is at work anyway.
and on your previous point it is almost as though sarcasm is a function of the words being spoken by intonation, and spoken phrasing meaning that unleass the words are being heard. sarcasm is not something that works in pure test situation. look at things like "A Modest Proposal" a high majority of people thought that the author was being honest, but unless you actually thought about how absurd it was that you realize it must be sarcasm. your posts seem like they could be taken genuine, and asnine meaning that just looking at them I would have to agree they must be honest.
