Become Shieldmaiden

Description
Updated for 1.14.X

A simple mod that grants a decision to landless adventurers or landed dukes, and above, that allows them to declare themselves Shieldmaidens, or Shieldswain. They must meet the default cultural and personal requirements for being a shieldmaiden or shieldswein. The decision costs 100 prestige and 100 piety.

AI may use the decision if they are arbitrary, brave, wrathful, or have a 3-star or better martial education, and are not craven. AI will use the decision, if they meet the may criteria, and are brave, or have a 4-star or better martial education.

This mod is safe to add to and remove from games at any point.

That's an odd one, but as long as it's working, I won't complain.
Thank you @Dreamer for letting me know.

It let me become a shieldmaiden with a county as well as a vassal. But I think it is perfect like that.

Love you

@Dreamer Yes. As long as you control a duchy or larger, or are a landless adventurer, you can use the decision.
Dreamer Mar 4 @ 3:18pm
Hey. Does this mean you can now take it as a vassal as well? :3

Apologies everyone for the extremely long downtime and broken mod.
It has now been fixed, and updated to account for landless adventurers. The requirement has also been changed from being an independent ruler to holding a dutchy, or higher, ranked title.

@Lemon I believe so, yes.

Hi, if I want to mod your mod for personal use to make the decision possible for vassals, would I just have to delete the "is independent ruler = yes" from the text file?

Making any decision Major or Minor is literally a yes no in the files. The difference is that people generally want to be playing a historically-plausable (ish) sandbox, that has interesting choices and motivations for the nations that undertake them.
It's not the actual decision that is hard to create, but the AI weights, motivations, thematic texts, balance effects, new casus beli, etc., that go with it.

Since you you dabbled in modding CK3 if I may ask a slightly unrelated question to the shieldmaiden mod: for me and I saw reddit post that made me believe I'm not alone with this is that major decisions are great to have and the more the better. It gives you something to work towards, they have RP value etc. I thought that when I come to the CK3 workshop and check the decisions mods that there'll be at least one grand mod that like give 100 different major decisions. To my understanding the only one that gives major decisions really is cultures expanded. Idk somehow I thought that there would be more and that I could overwhelm myself with decision mods. This makes me believe that either they are not as important/popular as I thought or that they are actually hard to mod in to the game. What do you think?
