Kingdom of Rizia DLC Achievements
От Tricky Dick
This guide outlines help for and how to get the 53 achievements for Suzerain: Kingdom of Rizia*.

These achievements, apart from the chapter progression achievements (which were introduced with the DLC), first appeared on Steam prior to the 3.0.8 update, after which they were enabled for this patch. Keep in mind that everything here was first written for that patch, so some details may change due to updates.

Some of these achievements are relatively easy to obtain through regular playthroughs. However, some are either less straightforward or are somewhat convoluted to get. Seeing I loved playing through Suzerain, I thought I would put together a guide explaining how to obtain them all.

Although technically most of the information here counts as spoilers, where information regarding certain endings or secrets isn't outright stated in the descriptions of said achievements - some details may be hidden and so need to be moused-over to read them. I don't want to spoil every detail of the game for you, especially if you're only after a little bit of help for one achievement!

I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of those who have already created guides for specific achievements regarding this DLC. I have linked to those for the relevant information where that already existed when (and where) I could not figure them out on my own.

Obviously disclaimer, but although following the advice/steps should result in getting an achievement, subsequent patches may introduce unintended bugs/errors or other narrative changes which could prevent the unlocking of an achievement/s. For instance, after the 3.0.9 patch, some changes altered the way in which certain achievements could be unlocked. If this happens, please post a comment here flagging that and tell others elsewhere where relevant (sharing on the Steam discussion boards, the Suzerain Discord, Subreddit, the Torpor Games website, etc., if you believe an achievement or part of the game to be bugged) as doing so should hopefully help to clarify/fix the issue faster.

*Note that currently two achievements I have not yet completed, so I have marked these with an *asterisk as incomplete (along with not displaying what the achievement art looks like). If you would like to help with completing those, feel free to reach out or point myself and others in the direction of information I can include to complete this guide. If you write a guide for the more complicated ones that I haven't pieced together myself, or wish to correct/clarify some information, I would be more than happy to link that in this compendium of Rizia achievements!

War with Pales Achievements
These achievements specifically pertain to warring Pales. While some other achievements can involve a war with Pales, those are included in the Alliance/Territory section.

Father’s Son (Invade the Grand Duchy of Pales and suffer a humiliating defeat)

This achievement requires us to purposefully lose a war with Pales quite badly and to sign a punitive peace deal.
For this I manually directed the few troops Rizia had into certain death during the first phase and lost both Fort Ales and Terador. The same outcome could probably be achieved by having an inadequate army if you weren't directly managing the war (though I'm unsure what inadequate counts as, so probably don't build up the military in any way if you're trying to let the generals manage the war themselves).
When the Azaro’s ask what to do in phase two after the territory losses, continue to push hard, but don’t try to recapture the cities and do not accept the peace negotiation via Rumburg when Queen Beatrice offers to mediate a peace.
During the final turn (Turn 10), the Azaro’s will come back to report that the war is lost, at which point giving up (and not continuing to fight) will unlock the achievement once the punitive peace treaty is signed.

Romus The Conqueror (Personally lead the invasion of Pales and win)

After antagonising Pales into war, choose to manage the troops successfully to victory.
Remember, Rizia needs to hold onto our territories and capture and hold the two Pales cities during phase one (3 sets of 7 rounds of action spread over 2 turns). During phase two, 'simply' capture and hold the capital city of Pales (2 sets of 7 rounds of actions spread over 2 two turns) – all other ‘objects’ can be disregarded except for that.

Unless strategies in the war change in subsequent patches, I found Unfailbar's video regarding how to manage the war extremely helpful in getting this achievement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6fljieFu58

Save the Princess (Successfully rescue Princess Vina from the enemy)

Try to strike a deal with Pales for the gas-field before antagonising them and starting a conflict, having previously sent Vina to negotiate the finalisation of the deal. Either win the war or get far enough through phase two to rescue her.

Assuming relations with Pales and Vina are good enough, send her to Pales to negotiate the rest of the deal (explain and promise her whatever to go on the mission).
Assuming Lespia was completely cut out of the gas-field deal, or a blockade situation is created post AN arbitration, this should trigger an event where either there’s a border clash or naval skirmish with Pales.
Duke Reinhart will demand things, go to war instead.
As stated we don’t need to win the war to rescue Vina back, though that is better as we only have the chance to free her during phase two (assuming the war is going well).

You’ve Got Nerve (Use Rumburgian experimental weapons during war)

Having trouble with the war? When meeting with Queen Beatrice during the first phase, ask her for some help and request the chemical weapons.
Simply use one of the chemical weapons during the next turn of the war (never-mind the impending sanctions!).
I’m unsure if you need to do this yourself by directly managing the war, but it certain wouldn't hurt to make sure so that the achievement properly unlocks.
Alliance/Territory Achievements (Part 1)
These achievements (split into two sections) relate to Rizia's territory, alliances, and diplomacy regarding foreign nations. Achievements relating to Sordland are in their own section.

Case Closed (Solve the Zille Friendship Day bombing)

There are two ways of doing this, but the main prong is to fund an intelligence group, either with Lucita or Titus, and for them to investigate the bombing.
I can't remember if we must cooperate with Wehlen to get the achievement (as we can learn the truth without them), but it certainly wouldn't hurt if we're aiming for better relations with them.
Rico Azaro has some ideas, but it is ultimately important to continue investigating by keeping the focus on Zille when prompted.
Also, if we fund Lucita’s intelligence force, there is the complication of a Pales war stopping further progress. Along with another 'spoilery' complication, it is much better to have the Golden Guard investigate to successfully solve the bombing.
Eventually the truth is learned... to different outcomes.

Fall from GRACE (Leave GRACE)

Oddly enough this is not actually (at least at the time of writing) related to withholding support to GRACE allies or ignoring ties with Rumburg, although you'd think both those actions would lead Queen Beatrice to angrily kick Rizia out of the alliance.
Instead, Rizia needs to form the Intermerkopum Alliance as Beatrice can’t stand Rizia branching out (see the below Intermerkopum Alliance achievement for tips on how to do that).

Glovurius axa Rizia axa Pales (Unified Pales with Rizia peacefully)

I believe the only way to do this is to have Vina marry Duke Axel Reinhart and propose reunification (however there could be another method).
Whatever the case, reunification only works if Rizia hasn’t been antagonistic to Pales. Be supportive of stronger ties, proposing a marriage for alliance, maybe also forming a military alliance, while not escalating things related to the gas-field rights. Convince Vina that she ought to marry the Duke (which means getting rid of Manus somehow). Assuming these two tie the knot, a conversation about reunification should occur (for a bit of budget), leading to this achievement.

Great Unification (Oversee the successful return of both Pales and Zille back to Rizia)

We must get both our former territories back either peacefully or through force, or through a combination of both methods.
For Zille, either:
  • Convince President Smolak to give it back through holding true to the agreement he proposes and cooperatively solving the Zille bombing incident with Wehlen.
  • Or get the Alliance of Nations to force the return of Zille without a referendum (have a good enough international reputation).
  • Or win the referendum legitimately (funding the ATA helps).
  • Or steal the referendum (establishing Lucita’s intelligence force means the referendum can usually be stolen and rigged successfully, or giving enough support to Su Omina throughout the game can probably accomplish the same outcome).
For Pales we must either:
  • Reunify the territory by having Vina marry Duke Axel Reinhart and propose a peaceful reunification. Vina will only marry him if we've convinced her of the greatness of arranged marriages, removed Manus Sazon from the equation, and sent Vina to Pales in order to finish negotiating the Aureus gas deal.
  • Or conquer it through a successful war.

Intermerkopum Alliance (Form the Intermerkopum Alliance)

As it says, successfully form the Intermerkopum Alliance with at least two other neighbouring nations – either: Pales, Morella, Derdia, Wehlen.
All four neighbours can join, but that is reasonably tricky to do and is not necessary for this alliance/achievement to unlock.

In order to form the alliance, Rizia needs to work on a proposal and fund a conference for it while additionally needing to accumulate a lot of military resources, budget, and/or energy resources to sustain it.
Through my playthroughs, I believe it’s possible to create this alliance giving only one resource with good relations to the countries that show to the meeting, but it’s much better to contribute as many things as possible to ensure all the parties agree. I don’t believe its possible to convince merely friendly nations to join without giving any resources as the alliance needs some material purpose to get off the ground.

As for how to get these nations to join:
  • Pales will automatically agree if you have Vina marry the Duke and are thinking about reunification. In theory it should be possible to get them onboard if Rizia’s been friendly, is strong enough, and has pulled them out of Lespia’s orbit (all without going to war obviously), but subsequent patches may have changed how willing Reinhart is when it comes to deals with how they've been treated.
  • Welhen will agree if you’ve been a good, friendly, partner to them (uphold the proposed agreement, shared intel in the bombing investigation and solved it, etc.). I don't believe it's possible for Welhen to join if the Zille issue is resolved through force or if the AN becomes involved.
  • Morella will join if you’ve done enough things that they like and have been supportive of the changes to the MITZ, particularly if Rizia agrees with Nationalisation.
  • Derdia should join if you’ve been a good partner to them and not upset them (resolve the conflict they have with Morella and be nice to their state religion). Having an energy deal with them and sending a diplomatic mission to them, as well as being religious ourselves, should ensure their support.
Alliance/Territory Achievements (Part 2)

Not Losing You Again (Successfully rescue your flagship RRN Valero at the expense of Palesian sailors)

Institute a blockade of the Aureus Gas-field post AN arbitration. Assuming Rizia doesn't back down, regardless of what happened with AN arbitration, Pales will send in their navy to contest the seas resulting in a nautical skirmish. Choose to ignore helping them in favour of rescuing the flagship.

Peace to the Duke (Form a military alliance with Pales)

Instead of being antagonistic with Pales, agree to buy the entire Aureus Gas-field off them (costs quite a bit). Don’t let Lespia negotiate another deal and maintain good relations with Pales.
Make sure Rizia has a sufficient army (troops, manpower, and stockpiles) as you can later convince Duke Reinhart during a visit to have a greater relationship with Rizia assuming relations are kept friendly.
Propose a military alliance, which should be accepted if these conditions were met.

The World Against Us (Get heavily sanctioned by the AN)

Easiest way to do this is to go to war with Pales and have terrible relationships with other nations. Using chemical weapons during the conflict will guarantee a bad global image sufficient to force heavy AN sanctions, as well as losing AN arbitration of the gas-field in the first place.
Lespia will instigate the sanctions, so don’t make any deals with them (though they shouldn't want to thanks to the war).

Trustworthy Friends (Successfully convince President Smolak to return Zille peacefully without a referendum and be given a gift of friendship)

Seems simple enough, until you realise we're dealing with a snake. Essentially this boils down to being super friendly/appeasing Wehlen.

  • Don't be rude to Wiktor Smolak at all when interacting or talking to him (choose the most friendliest option where possible).
  • Cooperate with their investigation into the bombing and share findings (distance the Crown from Su Omina and do not take Rico's deal).
  • Agree to a deal that you can uphold when Smolak proposes one (have the bar go more in their favour, but don't promise things Rizia can't deliver on, e.g: selling weapons and not proceeding to sell any by decree).
  • Finally, agree to give mother’s house to him when he asks for it in return for getting Zille back peacefully.
If you’ve given Smolak a very favourable deal but not kept one part of it, he may be open to still upholding the deal in return for a favour. For instance, if Rizia has amassed a huge military equipment stockpile from increased industrial capacity, he may request some of it in order to give Zille back. He should then give Zille back, along with a little something extra...
Sordish Achievements
Assuming you have done the right things while having played through a game in Sordland, it is possible to accomplish these three achievements sequentially in a single game as ordered here (but you don't have to do this of course)!

Sords, Our Friends (Accomplish all trade deals with Sordland successfully)

Simply agree to every trade deal and opportunity which arises regarding Sordland and Rizia.
While plays as Anton Rayne in Sordland, make sure to agree to co-invest in GASOM with Rizia or the achievement won't unlock (also make sure to recover the economy if doing all these achievements in one go).

While playing in Rizia as King Romus:
  • During Turn 2, agree to both the initial wine and development of the resort trade deals. Use good manners when dealing with Ewald Alphonso and Gus Manger!
  • Before the end of Turn 4, make sure you have enough budget to do the following actions. Agree to the Holsord visit (-1 Budget) and make a bond investment, either small (-1) or large (-4). As seen below, the next achievement requires the large investment, so take that if you intend to unlock that as well.
  • During Turn 5, buy a stake in Gasom (smaller or bigger), and the achievement should unlock.

Let it Rayne (Maximize Sordland bond investment returns)

Let the good Raynes fall down in Rizia!

When playing in Sordland, make sure to successfully recover the economy (don’t crash it early on or later), otherwise we won’t get the maximised bond returns while playing in Rizia.

Assuming you’ve taken the previous advice, you should be able to get one large payout for the large bond investment (assuming Romus opted for it during the meeting in Holsord).

Two Birds For Beatrice (Flip off the Queen as Anton Rayne and Romus Toras)

Note this achievement only works on game versions on or after 3.0.8 for it to register the Sordland component!

Giving someone a bird twice should be easy, right? So...
  • Firstly, successfully defeat Rumburg at war as Sordland (doesn't matter how or with what allies), then proceed to give her the finger when prompted at the treaty signing.
  • Secondly, when playing in Rizia (and it’s probably best to do this in line with getting closer to Sordland), ditch GRACE and Rumburg by successfully forming the Intermerkopum Alliance. This will annoy Queen Beatrice, who, at the high tea meeting, gets angry and kicks us out of her alliances. Let Romus show her his finger in kind return.
Relationships/Personal Choices Achievements (Part 1)
These two sections deal with decisions and dialogue options that Romus can take regarding other characters and situations.

A King’s Best Friend (Adopt Bruno)

Unlocking this achievement depends on our Prologue choices.
This requires Romus to be a bad shot with the KA-74 rifle (don't choose the other rifle) during the hunting trip with Uncle Hugo, Rico, and Vina. Don't purposefully miss, instead aim for the boars.
So, during the Prologue, don’t go hunting with Uncle Hugo or join the military. Either join the royal council or go to university, as those backgrounds won’t result in accidentally shooting Bruno the dog.
After it’s declared Bruno’s hunting days are over due to our poor marksmanship damaging one of his legs, agree to adopt him.

Blaze of Glory (Say “Glovurius axa Rizia” 10 times)

As it says, choose the phrase 'Glovurius axa Rizia' ten times, basically just say it at every opportunity that is presented! Getting to ten utterances is very hard however.
Below is a list of opportunities that Romus can say it at (at least in patch 3.0.8), though certain paths must be taken in order to say it. When I unlocked this achievement, I did not do/have the 8th, 11th, or 13th opportunities - although it is probably possible to say it that many times above 10.

It is also worth noting that unless you are selecting the phrase directly in dialogue to others, without adding other countries in (like Pales as I'm not sure 'Glovurius axa Rizia axa Pales' counts), that those probably don't work. For example, during the first turn of the Pales war there is an option to select it in response to a sabotage of the enemy event, however that does not count towards the ten utterances required.

Anyway, we can say the phrase in the following instances:
  • 1st - Romus' Coronation. We have the opportunity to disrupt the ceremony and give a speech, which we will be able to end it with the phrase. This does produce a negative authority penalty for breaking traditions (but it can be managed in the long-run).
  • 2nd - Friendship Day. After Wictor Smolak's speech, Romus can say the phrase to finish his speech. Interupting Smolak and being too pro-Rizian has consequences (but again they can be managed).
  • 3rd - Southern Merkopa AN Meeting. Romus can end his AN address with the phrase.
  • 4th - Wine Event. However it goes, Romus can conclude his speech with the phrase.
  • 5th - Trade talk in Sordland. Assuming the first trade talks went well, Rizia should be presented with the opportunity to spend 1 budget to go to Sordland for trade talks. Before proceeding with the talks, raise a toast and say the phrase. Don't have to invest after that, but you might as well do a small one.
  • 6th - War against Pales announcement. Going to war presents two opportunities for the phrase, the first one at the end of the declaration of war speech.
  • 7th - Second visit to the House of Delegates. Assuming religion wasn't introduced so Sal takes up all our time, Romus can say something and the phrase at the end.
  • 8th - University of Iza Speech. The phrase can only be said if we relieve Rico of his position and choose the reincorporation option into Brenas with a democratically elected council.
  • 9th - Vina's Marriage day. Make sure Vina gets married, as Romus can give a speech and end it with the phrase.
  • 10th - Signing the Treaty of Pales. After successfully winning the war, this second opportunity emerges for Romus to say the phrase after signing the treaty.
  • 11th - Dissolving the Royal Council. The phrase can be said after dismissing the royal council either in the event of successfully reforming Rizia's governance system towards democracy or toward declaring a theocracy.
  • 12th - Announcement of Rizia's future heir. This requires becoming married to Lucita (and declaring our son to be next in line, although I guess you could say Vina and enjoy living with the consequences), giving Romus the opportunity to utter the phrase at the end of the TV message.
  • 13th - Declaring a theocracy. If Romus has been very religious and moved towards Wiseman Sal's vision of forming a theocratic monarchy, at the end of this declaration we the phrase can be said.
  • 14th - Final address to Rizia. In this last speech we can end it with the phrase, whatever we have done or intend to do in the future. Obviously this requires to have maintained stability in Rizia or else we won't receive the opportunity to make this last speech (given the intracicies of the decisions for the other choices, it is probably better not to rely on this one unless you're certain Romus will be keeping his crown after eight years).
Additionally, somehow being too religious stopped this one from triggering for me when I tried going that route for the achievement. I'm not sure if that is a bug or not, but be warned that going that way may do that for you as well.

It’s Not You, It’s Me (Reject two romantic advances in the same night)

Bait both Lucita and Pabel in thinking you’re in love with them and reject them both on the same night.
For Pabel, be friendly with him in all interactions, especially during the prologue. Let him cast eyes upon Romus in the bath and have him scrub our back. Later, during the wine festival, participate in the drinking game and let him also participate to reveal his poem. Make sure to let him escort us back to our room after that (or I don’t think we can reject him). He should talk about the poem and try and stay, but tell him we’re not interested at all.
For Lucita, ask about her during the castle ruins visit, be thirsty, catch her before she falls and generally imply you’d like to get to ‘know’ her better or like her. During the wine festival, say Romus has a scar of his chest as a ‘truth’ for the drinking game and let Lucita touch it (this is a must). Assuming we’ve already baited Pabel and told him to leave, Lucita should come knocking soon afterwards. Let her in, but don’t let her stay or promise her any dates – reject her!

Completely Justified (Order and watch the execution of 5 “traitors”)

This achievement is quite difficult as it requires jailing a combination of different people and signing their execution decrees towards the very end of the game.

I've consolidated all the information regarding this achievement into its own separate guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3266361016

Game of Spoons (Correctly finish high tea in Rumburg)

On the last visit to Rumburg with Queen Beatrice, use the middle spoon, inner spoon, and then outer spoon for correct tea etiquette (*not sure if this is correct now as there might be another step, but essentially: middle spoon for sugar, outer spoon for jam, and inner spoon for flour)
As far as I know it is not vital to remain with GRACE and Rumburg for the achievement to unlock if you've performed these steps correctly (so long as you don't give her the bird during tea time).
Apparently having a good relationship with Lena in the prologue helps us to perform the actions correctly, or Pabel may teach these skills if we’re close to him. In any case, we can just bluff to get the right answers with a bit of turn reloading if it goes wrong!
Relationships/Personal Choices Achievements (Part 2)

Mom and Dad (Reinstate Duchess Angelica Sazon and Taddeus Azaro to their former positions)

  • For Angelica Sazon, we must reappoint her as Duchess of Iza. This involves pardoning her (or making a deal with Manus for her to return), deposing Rico, and putting her in charge.
  • For Taddeus Azaro, Lucita must be replaced by her father as the war and security councillor. Presently there are two ways of doing this. Either: if there's a border incident with Pales due to the gas deal, agree with Reinhart's request for an investigation (if the option comes up to as I never succeeded in failing to convince Reinhart until 3.0.9, so I never knew we could pursue an international investigation), then imprison and replace her with Taddeus, or during the last turn choose to replace her with Taddeus on the royal council (assuming that the council isn't being dissolved via democratisation or the declaration of a theocracy - the choosing of new councillors seems to be a new event in 3.0.9).

Out and Proud (Publicize your relationship with Pabel)

Be close friends with Pabel in the Prologue and be as kind to him when talking with or about him. “No need to modesty” when he comes in while we bath to discuss his concerns.
Let him participate in the drinking game during the wine festivities and let him stay the night.
Decriminalise homosexuality and don’t hide the relationship when asked by others.

Ready To Love Again (Give your wife’s wedding ring to Lucita)

Have a loving relationship with Lena in the prologue, which results in Romus keep her ring (don’t give/promise it to Vina if she gets married).
Romance Lucita and give her Lena’s ring when getting married.

Rizian Charter of Fundamental Law (Successfully execute democratic reforms)

Agreeing to a new governance structure for Rizia is reasonably hard to do as this requires a lot of individuals and groups to support this.
Although getting to work with Manus Sazon on this is easy enough, assuming we’ve been friendly and open to working with him, accepting his offers to reform the political system much trickier when garnering enough support.

Essentially every royal house and their representative heads need to be on board for the reforms to work. See the guide for the Make Youtself Great Again achievement, as that has pointers on how to successfully put together a constitution that everyone agrees to.

Romus the Generous (Participate in a Derdian Duel of Generosity and lose)

On the Derdia visit, choose to fight yourself instead of choosing Titus as champion or declining the duel.
Don’t do anything unorthodox during the match. Get hit and concede the match.

So It Is (Say “Halaita” 10 times)

This is very easy to get if you play as a devoutly pious king, as there will be ample options to say Halaita outside of the standard few while being overly religious.

The Prince (Have a son and declare him heir)

Romance Lucita, marry her, and declare our future boy to be next in line to the throne.
This achievement is significantly easier if Vina remains single, although if Romus is nice to her she will accept not becoming queen (assuming whoever she married is okay with that).

True Master of Crisis (Avoid all crises)

I'm not entirely sure what each of the crises are, aside from the obvious ones, so I had a very difficult time figuring out how to unlock this achievement. Even in games where Rizia is doing very well by most metrics, I typically always got some negative modifier or bad event to trigger, which is probably why it never popped until, here I am, typing something out for it.

I unlocked this one through following this guide (for the 3.0.8 patch) by Dazzling_Bula about advice for another achievement: https://www.reddit.com/r/suzerain/comments/1dkrvck/guide_for_romus_the_great_and_golden_age_of_rizia/?rdt=45897
Note that a playthrough in Sordland with the specified instructions is required to get the best gas economy for Rizia. As DB noted, there are some decisions that could be tweaked slightly for better outcomes. I ended making some decrees a little later if I ran out of resources, as well as reunifying with Pales.
Decree/Resource/Economy/Military Strength Achievements
This section deals with achievements regarding resources, game modifiers, or decrees relating to the running of Rizia.

Arms Exporter (Export military equipments and vehicles 7 times)

The easiest way to do this is to invest in equipment production and sell a combination of military equipment seven times. This is possible to do following the Make Yourself Great Again guide I've linked to for that achievement.

Arms Importer (Import military equipments and vehicles 7 times)

The reverse of the above, though a bit trickier to balance well in a regular playthrough. Simply accumulate enough resources to buy military hardware seven times.
It is worth noting that I’m not sure if decisions to buy outside of decrees will work (such as buying planes from Morella or missiles from Derdia if those options come up).

Domineering (Have 15 Authority)

Relatively easy to do through either accumulating enough authority by saving it or not excessively spending it/seeking ways to create more, like through power projection.

*Golden Age of Rizia (Achieve high living standards, strong welfare, great workers rights, business growth and no instability).

Successfully please everyone by creating a state all people, the envy of our neighbours!

Apparently (as of September 2024) the guide for Romus the Great by Ø may currently trigger this achievement - but I haven't confirmed that myself.

Mine All Mine (Nationalize Rizian Royal Gold)

This achieve seems quite difficult as there’s no apparent way to nationalise RRG, ‘only’ to change investment percentages in it (assuming we side with Rusty over denying mining industry regulations).
Instead, if we've successfully investigated the Zille bombing *choose Titus' Golden Guard to make things simpler*, this leads to evidence that ties Lespia to the bombing. That means we can trade this information for something in return (assuming their role in it hasn’t already been revealed by cooperating with Wehlen), so don’t cooperate with Wehlen at all when investigating!
In the later meeting with the Lespian Prime Minister, bring this issue up and agree to destroy the evidence in return for them revealing their informant in Rizia. Funnily enough it turns out Rusty is the mole, who can then be arrested during a meeting shortly thereafter. Due to the implications of that, we can decide if RRG should be nationalised, which we should agree to, unlocking the achievement.

People’s Army (Have massive manpower)

Pass decrees that increase the overall numbers of troops available for the military.
You also don’t have to actually train units themselves for this to occur.
Steps in the Make Yourself Great Again achievement should unlock this achievement if you're encountering problems unlocking it outside of this information.

Say My Name (Complete 3 Romus Toras construction projects)

Construct the University, Hospital, and Military Academy projects all in Romus Toras' name. Each should unlock as you progress through turns, so make sure that each is finished by Turn 10 to complete the achievement.

Wruhec’s Second Coming (Declare a theocracy)

Be super religious and prioritise decrees which strengthen the role of religion in Rizia. Sal, the Grand Wiseman, will propose moving towards a theocracy if you stay true to this path, which Romus can accept and implement in the final turn of the game all going well.

The Force in South Merkopa (Accomplish overwhelming power projection in Southern Merkopa)

This task is similar to the People’s Army achievement, only that Rizia needs a lot of man power, trained units, and a significant stockpile of equipment to be on an equal footing with regional powers like Sordland, Lespia, or Valgsland.
Following the guide for the Make Yourself Great Again achievement should result in this one unlocking, or you can also follow the advice from a post by Fast_Love_596 about how to get this achievement: https://www.reddit.com/r/suzerain/comments/1csn9y2/overwhelming_power_projection_selling_weapons_is/
Additionally, a recent guide by JP outlines information on how power projection works and what decisions influence that: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3249302857
Endings Achievements
These achievements, as the section title suggests, are the possible endings Romus can get after the end of Chapter 4. As they have no descriptions more than what they are titled, I've marked them as spoilers just in case you'd rather come upon them organically.

Away from My Land

Get exiled from Rizia.
The simplest way to get this is to be a bad ruler, cause mass instability, and/or annoy one of the royal houses enough. This gets Queen Mother Estella to demand you (and whoever else remains loyal in the family) to leave Rizia with her before a coup/revolution occurs. Agree to go and resettle in a foreign land.

Fragmentation

Cause a revolutionary conflict to divide Rizia.
I did this on my first playthrough (unlocking it by loading an earlier patch where this ending occured) by promising democratic reforms to Manus Sazon in secret without getting House Azaro’s input, who should attempt a military takeover before the new constitution can be signed at parliament. In my case, Lucita Azaro, who was on Romus' side due to our marriage, convinced some of House Azaro to defend us and we managed to stay in Rizia - although Romus was effectively dethroned due to the chaos.
It likely helps to inflame relations with Lespia or Valgsland too throughout the game, thereby in extension turning Rizia into a playground for the superpowers. Generally I think the big thing is to get the other houses to spark infighting, but not cause problems that start a general uprising.

My Rule Continues

Keep Romus Toras or his successor on the throne.
Either Romus remains on the throne at the end with Princess Vina next in line (making sure that she's married), or romance Lucita and get our son to inherit the throne, OR Abdicate the throne and put Princess Vina, or the son, on the throne.
Abdicating is possible through becoming massively unpopular, but be careful not to create conditions so bad that it rips the kingdom apart.
That will always occur if we manage to bungle who becomes our successor. Either Vina will trigger an uprising in specific conditions (we treated her poorly, reneged on democratic reform, and she married Manus Sazon) if we chose our son instead of her, or Lucita will dig her nails into us and launch a coup with House Azaro if we chose Vina instead of the son.
Both these scenarios can be avoided by disarming the other party.
For Vina to succeed us, never romance/marry Lucita. If we want our son to succeed us, make sure Vina understands our commit to following the 'oldest male gets to rule' tradition while keeping her unmarried.

The King is Dead

Get assassinated at the end of the game.
One way to do this is to have House Azaro (the military) turn against you, refuse to flee the country, and refuse to be arrested. Romus will be shot, unlocking the achievement.

Be Remembered As Achievements
Although these have a brief description included with them, given they are essentially ending achievements as well I've decided to hide my advice unless specifically mouse-over it (as I think these are also intended to come across organically through different playthroughs).

Funny Man (Be remembered as Romus the Funny King)

Crack as many jokes and make as many humorous quips as possible in dialogue choices and actions (perhaps with some added sarcasm)!
In all seriousness, this achievement seems hard to trigger as performing too well in other metrics will likely result in being remembered as something different.

I ended up being less traditional as a king and instigated an unsuccessful war with Pales, generally just annoying everyone!
In the end, Lucita and son inherited the throne (I was probably not that far away from causing mass instability, so I’m unsure if you can get this title if that occurs or if we are forced to leave Rizia).
Have Romus be a party animal in the Prologue and love more than just Lena (we’re the party prince after all). Drink a lot during the wine festival too. Don’t know if drinking at every opportunity is necessary, but hey, why not?
In a way try to aim to be a more funny and perhaps a less competent Wiktor Smolak.

I hereby declare... (Be remembered as Romus the Lawgiver)

Be a respected ruler of Rizia who gets stuff done and remains on the throne at the end.

For this I guided the country down a stable path both internally and externally, managing to avoid many of the crises while improving the condition of the people and keeping the support of the royal houses. I could be wrong but I think for this one it's important to pass as much stuff as possible, regardless of the ending (although the monarchy remained stable at the end for me getting this achievement).
Essentially this is just a variation of the Make Yourself Great Again achievement guide (see below) where you don’t go to war with Pales and have okay foreign relations.

Make Yourself Great Again (be remembered as Romus the Great)

Be an amazing ruler who pleases almost everybody!

This guide By Ø will help you do that (along with assisting with some other achievements): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3242413139

No Alcohol for me Please (Be remembered as Romus the Sober)

Don’t drink any alcohol at any point that you have to (our butler helps us a bit with this) – and make a point of it!
This one is a bit hard, like the Funny Man achievement, as performing too well in certain metrics will likely mean being remembered as something else.

Start by not being a leisurely prince during the Prologue and later saying to Uncle Hugo (during the first meeting with him) that we will not drink (for whatever reason we can offer - not sure the explanation particular matters).
Turn down every opportunity to drink. Example: tell Wiseman Sal during the ceremony we don't want any wine.
During the win festivities let Uncle Hugo or someone else do the unbottling of the wine. Play the drinking game with the substitute liquid but get every answer right to avoid drinking. Say for the last truth that Romus hates wine - to everyone's shock and horror.
Proceed to only drink water/caffeine when presented with beverage choices (turning down anything is also fine).

I cannot say for certain that any of the following options helped, however these were things I did in my playthrough that I got this achievement on. Incidentally, I also managed to achieve this one alongside the Completely Justified Achievement (which, thanks to my sick desire to see how far I could ruin Rizia, resulted in a revolution that Romus barely escaped from).
Don't agree to the alcohol deal with Sordland (although the resort deal is fine).
Comment on Lespia PM's alcoholism/drinking. Not sure if siding with him on the MITZ helped, but I also did that to see what that was like.
I cannot confirm if cracking down on the drug trade helped with getting this achievement, but that's something I also did.

Wruhecs Chosen (Be remembered as the Scourge of Nur)

Be a ruler that St. Wruhec would look fondly upon.
Basically just be super religious and pick all those options as much as possible.

Say Halaita, speak religiously, do the ceremonies (and introduce religion to parliament), fund religious things and prioritise those as much as possible, etc...
Become better acquainted with Derdia (although I’m not sure if that is strictly necessary or that changing from Wrehecism as the state religion is advisable).
Try to institute a theocracy as suggested by Wiseman Sal (not sure if this is absolutely required, but this will hopefully unlock in conjunction with that achievement too).
Go to war with Pales, though I’m not sure if you have to do that either ('scourge' implies we're punishing our enemies, so I figured why not be a religious madman and go to war?).

In the end, House Azaro turned against me and sent Romus to the next life after refusing to acknowledge his obvious authority.
Thus, having done all those things, Romus was apparently remembered as the Scourge of Nur!
Rizia's Collectible Achievement
*Royal Hoarder (Collect all collectible items from Rizia)

Currently, this achievement should not unlock (unless editing the game) due to missing collectables not being present in-game. Additionally, taking certain collectables due to decisions in the story will/should lock us out of getting others (romance/alliance/Iza-related collectables).

Given this is quite an extensive achievement worth its own guide, I'll lay out the basics of the items and how to get them. Like in the base-game of Suzerain, these are items that are given or acquired by the player for taking certain actions and can be missed if certain actions are not taken.

In total, there are 17* items Romus can collect according to the list, however only 15 are required to unlock the achievement. Note that the first two items cannot be gained through normal gameplay (as their descriptions explain why that is). Some items, unlike with the Sordland collectables, can apparently be given away in certain situations, but I'm fairly sure that doing so does not erase them as having received them in the collectables list (though it probably pays not to do so for a collectable hoarder run - the achievement has the description 'hoarder' in it after-all).

As you can tell from the rest of the information, this is a work in progress. I was previously mistaken about a trophy item I hadn't come across before, but apparently (according to information here: https://www.neoseeker.com/suzerain-kingdom-of-rizia/guides/Rizian_Collectibles) it was not related to Sordland in any way.

Currently this achievement seems impossible even with the preorder/dlc bonuses as several combinations of items are mutually exclusive from each other.

  • 1. Vulpitzer Award (Unlocked through purchasing the ‘Support the Developers’ Content for Suzerain)
  • 2. Royal Gold Bar (Unlocked for those who prepurchased the Rizia DLC)
  • 3. Lena’s Wedding Ring (Gained by being faithful to our wife, Lena, during the Prologue - don't have affairs!)
  • 4. Valenqiris Postcard (From agreeing to construct the resort during the first Sordland trade negotiation. Agreeing to the alcohol portion is optional)
  • 5. Bruno's Dog Toy (Can be gained from accidentally shooting one of Rico's dogs during the family hunting trip and adopting him. See the 'A King’s Best Friend' achievement for help on getting Bruno!)
  • 6. Wruhecist Medallion (Rusty gives this to us if we leave RRG alone during industrial regulation decision)
  • 7. *Queen Chess Piece (Given by Lucita before the Wehlen deal for Zille if a romance has been started with her)
  • 8. Morellan Tin Bird (Successfully negotiate new terms for the MITZ with Morella. It doesn't matter what the exact terms are, only that a deal is agreed to, which should net this bird)
  • 9. ROG Plaque (Gained after Pales-Rizia/Pales-Rizia-Lespia Gas pipeline project is successfully completed)
  • 10. *Pabel's Poem (Given by Pabel before the visit to Derdia. Romus needs to start a relationship with him in order to unlock this opportunity *figuring out a way to do that and get Lucita's Queen piece...)
  • 11. Iza Gate Key (From deposing Rico as Duke and reincorporating it back into House Sazon proper. appointing Angelica Sazon to be in charge - so make sure that she's pardoned before the university event)
  • 12. RRN Rizia Scale Model (Unlocked after fully restoring the Royal Yacht. Requires 1 budget at the end of turn 5, 1 budget + Wehlen timber deal during turn 6, and 1 - or 2 budget and 1 authority -to complete on turn 7)
  • 13. Wehzek Doorstop (Given by Wiktor Smolak once Zille is successfully negotiated back)
  • 14. House Toras' Bull Figurine (Apparently Hugo will give this in the event Vina marries Rico)
  • 15. Mandragora Extract (Gained after successfully investigating King Valero's poisoning)
  • 16. Hattersley Egg (Unlocked after visiting Rumburg for the third time after remaining allied with them and GRACE, but only if Vina married someone beforehand)
  • 17. Intermerkopum Rings (Created from successfully forming the Intermerkopum Alliance with any two of the four potential partners joining: Derdia, Morella, Pales, and Wehlen)

18th - TBA Community Contest Item or perhaps staff flavour text from turn one religious event?

Note for the fragmentation Achievment I didnt get a warning from Lucita even tough I was married to her. Probably because I wanted to enact the reforms in secret. Not sure what the final straw was why they couped me. I should have been transparent on this duing the secret meeting
