Description
Features:
1. Infantry, vehicles, etc. support third-person view.
2. In direct control mode, shooting with infantry, vehicles, artillery, and fixed weapons has no spread.
3. All single-player and multiplayer maps support both third- and first-person views.
4. Crosshair modification.
5. Slightly increased infantry backpack capacity.
6. Buttons that were covered and the double-click "L" to exit vehicles function are now included in a submenu at the bottom right of the screen.
7. Removal of the take out/put away throwable animation for faster third-person switching for infantry.
8. Increased movement speed for infantry in both third- and first-person modes.
9. Added multiple selectable camera FOVs (in the Extra folder), default FOV is 90.
10. Added first-person view for infantry (supports both timed and right-click to exit methods).
11. More immersive first-person running animation (optional).
12. Same gun posture for machine guns as synchronized rifles (optional).

Instructions:
Infantry:
1. Timed third-/first-person
1. Select a "single soldier".
2. Click the "timed third-person" or "timed first-person" button that appears at the bottom right of the screen.
3. A single click lasts for 30 seconds and cannot be exited midway.

2. Switching third-/first-person
1. Select a "single soldier".
2. Click the "switch to third-person" or "switch to first-person" button that appears at the bottom right of the screen.
3. Right-click to exit third-/first-person mode.

Notes:
① Ensure the weapon in the infantry’s hand is a "gun" or "launcher" (not throwable) and there is at least one empty slot in the backpack before using the second method;
② The second method cannot use throwable items in third-/first-person modes;
③ In third-person, scrolling the mouse wheel can zoom and switch views between "third-person," "shoulder first-person," "first-person," and "aim magnified" views. The "aim magnified" view has three textures corresponding to sniper rifles, launchers, and other light weapons. (In single-player missions, if the aim texture does not match the weapon, switch the soldier's weapon to fix it);
④ In first-person, scrolling down switches between first-person and third-person, scrolling up switches to aim magnified view;
⑤ After exiting first-person, reset the camera view by scrolling the mouse wheel before switching to third-person to avoid bugs;
⑥ If a mission cutscene triggers in first-person view, it will get stuck in first-person camera parameters. Re-enter and exit first-person to fix it;
⑦ Not all classes and weapons can be used normally in first-person. If bugs occur, use third-person.

Vehicles and Fixed Weapons:
1. Select a "single vehicle".
2. Double-click the "L" key to toggle third-person mode.
3. Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom and switch views between "third-person" and "scope" views.

Note: Do not double-click "L" when selecting a damaged or unmanned vehicle, as it will trigger a bug, such as:
- Unable to enter vehicle third-person;
- Auto-deselecting the unit after several seconds when selected with the mouse.

Solution: After selecting the unit with the mouse, and before it auto-deselects, double-click "L". If it doesn’t work, try several times.

Custom Options:
Camera FOV
Select the corresponding "zzz_fovxxx.pak" in the “\Men of War Assault Squad 2\mods\UMW40K Third_First Person View V1.2\Extra” folder and copy it to “\Men of War Assault Squad 2\mods\UMW40K Third_First Person View V1.2\resource”.

More Immersive First-Person Running Animation
Select "zzz_run_animation.pak" in the “\Men of War Assault Squad 2\mods\UMW40K Third_First Person View V1.2\Extra” folder and copy it to “\Men of War Assault Squad 2\mods\UMW40K Third_First Person View V1.2\resource”.

Same Gun Posture for Machine Guns as Synchronized Rifles
Select "zzz_mgun_posture.pak" in the “\Men of War Assault Squad 2\mods\UMW40K Third_First Person View V1.2\Extra” folder and copy it to “\Men of War Assault Squad 2\mods\UMW40K Third_First Person View V1.2\resource”.

Delete Files to Disable Corresponding Features
1. “\Men of War Assault Squad 2\mods\UMW40K Third_First Person View V1.2\resource\properties\xxx.ext” — No spread for shooting with infantry, vehicles, artillery, etc.; "hunan.ext" — Increased backpack capacity;
2. “\Men of War Assault Squad 2\mods\UMW40K Third_First Person View V1.2\resource\interface\cursor” — Custom crosshair;

Compatibility
Using third-/first-person features in the editor:
1. Add “(include "/map/better_third_person_view/third_person.mi")” to the second line of the mission file “xxx.mi” in the map folder.

Example:

2. Add the first-person camera parameters in the {Clips} section of the map file "map" in the map folder by copying the original "[auto]" camera parameters and pasting them. Change the pasted "[auto]" to "firstperson" and modify distance and viewAngle to {distance 1 1}{viewAngle 1 1}.

Guys all you need to do is go into the mods folder, into the thirdperson/firstperson mods folder and find the animation file. once you searched around delete the file and it works!

The 40k maps allow star wars units to first person but so far no star wars maps.

Mod runs for me now and I can start a skirmish but when I double click L or try to enter first person nothing happens

“UMW40K Third_First Person View V1.2.3” 适配的是“[asv-0] [mod platform] 2.6.0”和“[asv-1] umw 40k 2.6.0”,该mod更新一次工作量非常大,不能保证还会有下次更新,需要的请及时备份当前版本的模组文件!

If you guys ever get an error talking about animations just delete the animations folder in this mod in properties. It will fix that!
