203 mm/55 RF Mk.16 (仿生学）

The US 8 "/55 RF Mark 16 was the first 8-inch caliber gun in the US Navy to replace silk cartridges with metal cartridges. Coupled with an automatic ammunition loading system, this gun had a firing rate three times faster than previous 8-inch guns, and with the use of overweight ammunition, the Des Moines class equipped with these guns became the world's most powerful cruiser. The design of this large caliber automatic gun has been proven reliable in practice, and even on the Vietnam War battlefield 25 years after its initial service, they still performed well. However, these properties sacrificed the weight of the turrets, and the turrets carrying them were half heavier than those on the Baltimore class.
