Description
"Section 9 was once a bustling industrial sector, part of the larger Hedra industrial district in Amara. It also acted as a small neighborhood since the industrial sectors came with their own sleeping quarters. Many of the products and items that came from Hedra district can be attributed to the rather heavy work ethic of Section 9's inhabitants, which was unmatched compared to other Sections.

It was, until 2060 when a virus ravaged most of the population in Section 9. The virus, discovered to be a mutation of Influenza had seemingly come out of nowhere. For the first few days, the Amara government set up camps and tents to assist and vaccinate the citizens. However, whether it was politically or externally motivated, the government pulled any support from Section 9. It was blocked off from the rest of the world and left a majority of the citizens to slowly perish away alone and cold.

The rest of the citizens that survived told their stories of family members coughing for hours on end, the streets filled with dried puke. When the toilets were occupied due to constant diarrhea, people took to the river. It was like purgatory, through no fault of their own.




ugggggh this map was the result of a very long creative block after Vacant was released. It was nearing the end of my exams so I at least finally have all the free time in the world but I still had that block that persisted for days on end. It was until I watched 1995's Ghost In The Shell that it revitalized my interest in making maps. Way more than ever before now that I started replaying Cyberpunk 2077. The visuals in that movie was crazy and I wanted to recreate that highly murky, low contrast look.

This map turned out to be, once again, a bit more than I can chew but it wasn't as bad as Port Trajan. That one was actually pure awful to work on.

After some testing I realized it's the subtle smoke by the lights. Guess my processors can't handle the smoke lol. I used ent_remove and once the smoke was removed, seems to be running smoother for my low end PC now.

Lights make me lag in general, IDK could be my low end PC. Nice map, but the lights make me lag idk why. Whenever I look or be near them, I lag, a lot.
