Frog

Frog, a master swordsman from Chrono Trigger, has traveled through time and joined the fray! He's known for wielding the sword 'Masamune,' a legendary blade from antiquity. In fact, Frog himself comes from the era known as the 'Dark Ages!' Beware, for he also wields fearsome water magic! And though he was cursed into the form of a frog, the form also comes with some advantages!


Frog casts Water magic, spawning bubbles that will move forward to pop and damage foes on contact.

Frog raises his sword and cleaves what is in front of him. If you press the special button toward the end of the attack, he'll slash what is below him with a downward strike. He'll also do a special pose if you are able to land on the ground following the second slash!

Frog summons a lake's-worth of water to attack foes in front of him. It causes a violent splash! In the Japanese version of Chrono Trigger, this move is known as 'Waterga.'

Frog summons a giant frog to squish an enemy in front of him. It does more damage the more damage Frog has taken. It's very weak at lower percents, but very dangerous whenever Frog has taken a lot of damage! Do your best to knock him out when he's over 100%, or else this could be a very dangerous move!


Frog will use his long, sticky tongue for a variety of attacks! Up Strong and other moves all take advantage of this!

Frog's Grab and Throws take inspiration from the Slurp Slash Tech!

(Creator's notes: The jam originally had a different theme, and I was going to make a character that has now been delayed to later. It'll still happen hopefully this year though. I hadn't played Chrono Trigger before, but I'm pretty fond of it now! Frog was easily my favorite character! He's super cool! Play Chrono Trigger!
