This guide will show you how to add custom sounds, such as hitsounds, weapon sounds, etc.

Things to Know

(Weapon sounds and other sounds won't work in casual or any server that has sv_pure 1 enabled. Hitsounds still work though.)
(Custom sounds MUST be in WAV format.)
Making folders
Right-click on TF2 and go to Properties and Installed Files. Next, go to the folder "tf" and create a new folder named "custom" if it doesn't already exist. You should be at "Team Fortress 2\tf\custom" Next, create a folder named "hitsound" (this will work with all sounds, not just hitsounds). Next, create a folder named "sound"

It should be "Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\hitsound\sound"

Now, we make specific folders for custom sounds.
Custom sound folders
For hitsounds Create a folder named "ui" inside "sound" It should look like this: "Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\hitsound\sound\ui" UI sounds include hitsounds, killsounds, and menu sounds. To add a custom hitsound or killsound, put your custom WAV file in the "ui" folder and rename it "hitsound.wav" and "killsound.wav" for custom hits and kills, respectively. UI sounds work with casual servers and community servers, unlike custom weapon sounds.

Next for custom domination sounds and other misc sounds

Go into the "sound" folder and create a folder named "misc" It should look like this "Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\hitsound\sound\misc" To add custom domination and revenge sounds, name the custom WAV files "tf_domination.wav" and "tf_revenge.wav" I don't know if misc sounds work in casual :<

Next for custom weapon sounds

Create a new folder in the "sound" folder called "weapons" It should look like this "Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\hitsound\sound\weapons" Next, add your custom WAV sounds and rename them to the right sound name. You can see the names of weapon sounds by using GCFscape. Although, if you have any specific sounds you would like to know the name of, comment and I may find the sound.

Anyway... that's kinda it! Like the guide please!
