How to Change the Color of Left 4 Dead 2 Cars in SFM

This guide will show you how to recolor the L4D2 cars that are in the SFM L4D2 DLC.

Load In a Car

Load in a car, preferably one of the sedans, pickups, or SUVs.

Add Override Materials

Right-click on your car model, and click the "Add Override Materials" button.

Switch to the Element Viewer

Right-click your car model in the animation set editor and select "Show in Element Viewer > Model" You should end up here.

Change the Color

Select the "Materials" option at the bottom of the list in the element viewer, then select the material below, in this case "4carz1024".
Next, right-click on the material (highlighted in green) and select "Add Attribute > color" and name the attribute "$color". Now you can left-click the color bar next to "$color" and change the paint job of your car, truck, etc.
