Blindsight - Unified

Description
A unification of a few mods that improve upon blinded pawns, including BlindsightWorks, Blindsight - Truesight, Spirit Sight. Requires Harmony.

A unification of a few mods that improve upon blinded pawns. Requires Harmony

What changes does this mod make?

Increased Hearing & Manipulation for Blind Pawns
Original Mod: BlindsightWorks
Pawns will have their movement speed reduced when initially blinded, and will slowly build up increased manipulation and hearing the longer they are blind.
Attunement will build up over ~10 days
  • Stage 1 - Sightless (~0-2 days)
    • Hearing: +0.05
    • Manipulation: +0.05
    • Moving: -0.6
  • Stage 2 - Uneasy (~2-5 days)
    • Hearing: +0.3
    • Manipulation: +0.2
    • Moving: -0.4
  • Stage 3 - Steady (~5-9 days)
    • Hearing: +0.5
    • Manipulation: +0.3
    • Moving: -0.3
  • Stage 4 - Accustomed (~9-10 days)
    • Hearing: +1
    • Manipulation: +0.5
    • Moving: -0.25
  • Stage 5 - Attuned (~10+ days)
    • Hearing: +1.5
    • Manipulation: +0.5
    • Moving: -0.05

Changes from the original:
This now affects Pawns without a Blind Accepting ideology.
Pawns wearing blindfolds now get this benefit, but the benefits are removed as soon as they take off the blindfold.
It takes longer to build up the increase in manipulation and hearing.

Improved stats for Blind Psychic Pawns
Original Mod: Blindsight - Truesight
Pawns that have Psylink levels, are in an Ideology that accepts blindness, and are blind, will have increased stats to account for them being able to psychically see around them.
  • Psylink 0 (No Psylink): 0 Benefits
  • Psylink 1: The equivalent of 25% sight; A little better than wearing a blindfold
  • Psylink 2: The equivalent of 50% sight; A pawn with cataracts in each eye
  • Psylink 3: The equivalent of 75% sight; A pawn with one natural, healthy eye
  • Psylink 4: The equivalent of 100% sight; A pawn with two natural, healthy eyes
  • Psylink 5: The equivalent of 125% sight; A pawn with bionic eyes
  • Psylink 6: The equivalent of 150% sight; A pawn with archotech eyes

Changes from the original:
Added stat modifiers for the new stats added in 1.5/Anomaly; Reading, Entity Studying, etc.
Slight tweaks to modifiers to bring them closer to make them more accurate

Slight Change to "Blindness Sublime" Opinion Values
Original Mod: Blindsight Half Blind Mood Tweak
It always bothered me that being half-blind goes from a positive mood at Elevated to a negative mood at Sublime, despite the fact that the social impact doesn't indicate it being seen as a negative thing.

The moodlets for half-blind and not-blind stack, so the total effect of being half-blind is still negative, but it's no longer worse than being fully sighted.

Future Plans
Add mod settings to allow for some configurability.
Improve support for Vanilla Psycasts Expanded.

Compatibility
Should be compatible with everything.
Vanilla Psycasts expanded has a higher limit to Psylink level, but pawns will still reach max bonuses at Psylink Level 6
Should be compatible with CE, however CE changes how the Melee and Shooting stats are calculated, so it will not work 100% correctly. Since I have not played CE I'm not sure exactly what the modifiers should be.

I have been unable to reach the creator to the Blindsight Half Blind Mood Tweak mod, if I hear from them, I will remove the mood tweak portion of this mod.

All of the features of the mod work when a pawn has 0% sight, or wearing a blindfold. I think
I haven't tried the Alpha Gene Psy-sight stuff

I was hoping to find a mod like this. But i have few questions:

Does this mod work with Alpha Gene's Psy-Sight gene (worsens he pawn's sight, but increases it with every psylink level... However it does seem to require eyes)?

Will this mod have any problems with othere sight-related genes/cyberentics?

I'm just trying to make sure that my modpack won't shit itself once i add this mod

Hey there! You seem to have accidentally included the source files within the mod, making it 85MB instead of closer to 5MB. Figured I'd let you know :winter2019happyyul:

So i am getting only a blank black page when i try to access settings either via Rimworld options or XML Extensions. The only option is the close button.

Here is a link to the HugsLib log: https://gist.github.com/HugsLibRecordKeeper/e37195f32eedf5a4c6c954fda38fff6c

I am still on Rimworld 1.5 if that helps you narrowing it down.

I think psychic sensitivity should play a role on how much of a benefit a blind pawn can get from their psylink level. Maybe let it act as a limit? 100% sensitivity let's you get up to 100% sight equivalent, anything below that is limited to whatever the sensitivity of the pawn is(so 40% sensitive is capped at 40% sight equivalent). While going over 100% sight equivalent needs double the sensitivity over 100%, so to reach the maximum of 150% a pawn would need 200% psychic sensitivity(150% sensitivity can get you only up to 125% sight equivalent). This way you can't give a blind psychically deaf pawn a psylink and have them negate their blindness with psychic powers they can't actually use.

Quick question, are there supposed to be mod settings? I just get an empty black screen when clicking on this mod in Options, or XML Extensions (and in the latter i can't then return to the mod list at all until a new start).

@Ishchyaboi

Near Blindness is no Blindness (not as a health problem at least)
Ishchyaboi Jul 25 @ 12:31pm
I have this mod and, in my tests, having PsySight (with level 6 psylink from the base DLC system) does not override the "Near Blindness" gene from Alpha Genes. Is that a fixable issue?
