Description
The adventures of Gordon Freeman, Alyx Vance, and their car Shotgun continue in this remake of Deep Down.


WARNING: I am an amateur GModder, since I have only very basic knowledge of Hammer and no knowledge at all on how to use VSIF2VCD, which means that this campaign is by no means perfect and has flaws here and there. This would affect your overall experience with it, but it shouldn't stop you from completing it. Any feedback is appreciated.

NOTE: There may be texture issues on the fourth (ep2_dd2_3b) and ninth (ep2_dd2_5) maps. I don't know what is causing them nor how to fix them without breaking the maps, but either way, the texture issues don't affect gameplay though.

WARNING #2: On the eleventh map (ep2_dd2_7), when you fall down after trying to jump across the gap with Alyx, you will lose all of your weapons, but not keep the gravity gun (unlike the original campaign). Since you need the gravity gun to continue, just spawn yourself one (and optionally other weapons), then continue.

WARNING #3: In the penultimate map (ep2_dd2_8), the dispensers (which are supposed to give you energy orbs for the AR2) does not dispense anything upon pressing their buttons. Since you need the energy orbs for the puzzles on this map, you would have to spawn yourself some of them if you run out.

WARNING #4: In the final map (ep2_dd2_9), the Striders that awaken, when you knock the energy orbs out of the power sources using the gravity gun, tend to shoot through most covers you would use to evade their line of sight and attack, making glass walls near the power sources the only covers that could shield yourself from their attack. This means that aside from these aforementioned covers, the only other way to avoid the Striders' fire is being quick on your feet, as there is a high chance that you would be hit by them if not. If you cannot handle this any longer, don't feel bad turning on god mode.

WARNING #5: This campaign relies on animations from HL2: E2 for its function. In order for it to function, you must have a mod that adds them (such as this one). Otherwise, it will softlock or not work properly.

DISCLAIMER: This custom campaign has only been tested in sandbox singleplayer, with the only mods being tested with this map are MMOD effects, MMOD HL2 weapon replacements, ARC9/MWB/TFA/TacRP SWEPs, Combine Soldier model replacements, VManip addons, and HUD addons. I'm sorry to say this, but I cannot guarantee the campaign's stability if you use more complex addons (such as the ones that alter NPC's AI) and/or play it in multiplayer.

ANOTHER DISCLAIMER: This custom HL2 campaign is not mine, as I laid out its original information in the lower part of this description. If the original author wants me to take it down, I'll do so.

ORIGINAL CAMPAIGN INFORMATION

In 2013’s Half Life 2 mod Deep Down, Jim Partridge took several key aspects from Episode Two, Alyx and the car, and expanded on these in an attempt to re-create that amazing Half-Life 2 feeling that everyone is looking for. Now, with seven additional years worth of level and environment design experience, Jim has taken another swing at the concept. With thirteen almost entirely new maps, new environments, new gameplay concepts, new puzzles, custom models (care of Ed Vincent), and original music (from Anicator), Deeper Down asks you to hit the road one last time and take down the one enemy who’s always been watching.

Fucking hell that was an amazing campaign, Really fun to play that, 10/10,
The level design was 1:1 almost exactly what i would expect from Valve.
I got soft-locked for some reason at a point in level 4 where a door is supposed to open to an elevator after coming from the sewers.
Aside from that, wonderful experience.

Just FYI, for the final map, there are at least two magnusson device teleporters around the strider pod, which is under the rock. there are plenty of covers around the magnusson device and the players can use the gravity gun shoots the devices to the striders and then shoot it(just like what you did in final strider fight in ep2).
Also don't replace the rpg, you need the vanilla rpg to shoot down the gunship so that the huge oil tank, which blocks the way if you didn't take down the gunship with vanilla rpg, will be disappeared after the gunship is taken down. Otherwise, Alyx will be dead if you go around the barricades or escape the gunship fight.

This map is honestly amazing, while it is a bit irritating at parts I suppose that's the design. Solid 10/10!

@vuflub_ Did you make sure you get on the crane that has the magnet, which is after you exit the warehouse from the upper level and walk across the road, killing two enemies next to it?

jalopy onto the upper bridge
