THIS BUILD OF CALRADIAN KINGS IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO PLAYTESTERS!

Calradian Kings - Alpha release x0.1.0 for Crusader Kings 3 Versions 1.12.* (compatching still in progress)

Calradian Kings is a total conversion mod for Crusader Kings 3 that brings the world of Mount & Blade, created by TaleWorlds, into Crusader Kings 3. Initially beginning as a project to bring Calradia from pre-early access Bannerlord into Crusader Kings, it eventually evolved into an effort to instead bring the Bannerlord we know today into Crusader Kings.
You, as a ruler of your choosing, will have the opportunity to either unite the warring Empire claimants, or burn down the Empire as an outside force, and bring about a new age of warbands.

  • The Calradian Civil War Struggle - This civil war, which has brought the Calradic Empire to its death throes, is unique among prior civil wars due to the scope of the conflict and the external pressures exerted on each empire. In addition, each claimant empire has their own version of how the empire must be ran. This can be found in the types of succession laws and realm laws each one possesses and may put forward. The Dragon Banner could possibly be found and used to further legitimize an imperial ruler's claim to the empire, or be used to crumble them instead.

  • The Calradian Senate - The Senate is home to the aristocratic class of Calradian society. That does not have to be the case. With the proper governance, new laws can be put forward, emperors can be chosen, claims can be made or disregarded, forms of republican government can be instituted, and much more.

  • Custom Units, Character Armor, Hair, and Artifacts - For a setting in Calradia, it would be unfitting for there to be no unique items to assist in fleshing out the world. Numerous artifacts, each with their own unique lore, can be found and kept in your own specially designed royal courts. Custom units, made to reflect the unit type equivalent in Bannerlord, can be recruited by players and designed to seamlessly blend into the world itself. Character portraits will also be receiving attention as well, with hairstyles, clothing, and armor inspired by what nobility in Bannerlord wears.

  • An Expansion to the Existing World Lore - It is well known by much of the Mount & Blade community that religious history is lacking in many aspects within Warband and Bannerlord. To this end, we have designed religions & faiths that fit in with the cultural aesthetic, as well as taking into consideration any references, no matter how small, that would help to further flesh out these faiths. In addition to this, cultures have been designed to fit what we already know about the cultures, from Vlandians all the way east to the Khuzaits.

  • New Lands and Cultures - A bigger world exists beyond what we personally know as Calradia. The Darshi in the southeast exist as a people grappling with their own failing empire. In the northern peninsulas of Sturgia, the Nords have made settlements and encroachments on Sturgian land, in the northeast exist the mountain-dwelling Iltanlar and forest dwellers known as the Vakken. Beyond introducing cultures that already exist in the lore, we are moving to create entirely new subcultures from the existing cultures to create a diversity of cultures where a single monolithic culture would make little sense.

  • A Big and Detailed World Map - When designing Calradia and the world, we wanted to increase the scope and scale of the world in relation to Bannerlord. In Bannerlord, the world has far fewer settlements and feels much smaller in size. For Crusader Kings, we made entirely new counties, duchies, and kingdoms to help fill in the empty spaces between settlements on the Bannerlord map. In addition to this, the landscape work was done with intricate detail as to create varying climates across a wide spectrum of landscapes, from the plains of Vlandia, to the forests of Battania, southwards into the desert wastes of the Aserai, and finally east in the steppes of the Khuzait tribes.

  • This list isn't final... - Much more can be found in this game, as well as some things that are still in development for the most part.

Why is this mod incomplete/in alpha!?
The mod is still in an alpha version because much of it outside of the map design is still unfinished. Although the factions exist (Battania, Vlandia, the Empires, etc.), they are likely still subject to immense change. This includes the de jure makeup of those realms. In addition to this, much of what is listed under features are still incomplete items that still need to be worked on. MOST IMPORTANTLY, this mod will remain in alpha so long as your log files are as bloated as a Daemon of Nurgle. If you don't understand that, then you need to review the Playtesting Channel within the Discord linked below.

Will there be a Warband startdate?
YES. THERE WILL BE A WARBAND STARTDATE. Now, stop asking.

How do I report bugs?
You can report bugs in the Discord linked below. Be sure you have chosen the Playtester role as this gives you access to the bug reporting forum.

Can you play multiplayer?
I have not personally tested multiplayer myself, the stability of MP is likely going to suffer from desyncing caused by unfinished debugging & compatching. Try at your own risk.

kinda wishing the islands in the middle of the lake were also settled. Akin to the Calradia Expanded mod which added more settlements.

@Amaroth

Yeah, legitimacy still needs a lot of tinkering.

I haven't tried the hunting mechanics yet but I'll certainly look into it, or maybe someone else will.

@The_Ramdom_Cheese

There will be an opportunity to unite it through a struggle we will be developing specifically for the Civil War.

Very cool. Just sadly, legitimacy is at 0, hunt sightings are 0, and de jure makeup needs a lot of work. I hope this mod will be finished soon, I am really looking forward to seeing the final version. Right now, it's not really playable (yet).

I'm curious if there'll be a decision to reunite the Calradian Empire as a whole later in development, given how you can't reunite it in Bannerlord having taking over all land and being the closest...

I feel it'd make the effort worth it, knowing that your character got to reunite all the lands unlike other rulers!
