Description

The M2 light tank (officially known as Light Tank, M2) was the first American mass-produced light tank. Its design was developed during the interwar period, with first models using heavy machine guns as their main armament due to a belief that machine gun-armed tanks will rarely encounter other tanks on the battlefield and, as such, will be more than sufficient to provide fire support for infantry. Following the Spanish Civil War, however, many countries, including the USA, realized that they needed tanks arrmed with cannons, and, due to this, began the development of the M2A4, the last variant of the M2 tank, that featured heavier armor and a 37mm M5 gun in place of the .50 Browning M2 heavy machine gun.

By the time of WW2, most of M2 light tanks (which included all of M2A1, M2A2 and M2A3 tanks, as well as US Army M2A4 tanks) were used as training vehicles only. The M2A4 was the only variant to see actual combat during the war due to US Marine Corps lacking newer M3 light tanks in 1942, and, as such, needing to supplement them with older light tanks during the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942.

This mod includes:

Two variants of the tank: standard and anti-air MG-equipped (recommend to create a custom squad for this one)
4-man crew (driver, gunner, machine gunner, commander) +1 "seat" for AA machine gun.
37mm gun (50 HE/40 AP rounds) and 4 (standard)-5 (AA MG) .30-06 machine guns: 1 coaxial MG (controlled by gunner), 1 flexible hull MG (controlled by machine gunner), 2 hull fixed MGs (controlled by driver), 1 anti-air MG.
