FIX - ActivationUI.exe Error & Game not starting on EA

So i bought ME: Catalyst on Steam and wanted to play it. After starting it from steam, EA opens and wants to start the game. Then the"game is getting ready" window closes and nothing happens. Starting the game manually from the .exe i get the ActivationUi error message. I tried a few things but nothing worked....

In this Guide i will show you how i fixed it!

Fixing the problem

The following video helped me to fix the problem:

--> Watch the solution 2 with the process monitor thing at 3:55 and set filter to process name ActivationUI.exe

Watch for C:\Windows\System and not for the game path



In my case the msvcr120.dll was the problem. I deleted it from C:\Windows\SysWOW64 because the files architecture was 32-Bit, so the 32-Bit file was located in the 64-Bit folder. Afterwards I downloaded and installed Visual C++ 2013 x64 and x86 (It contains my missing msvcr120.dll).

After that the game started finally!
