(They patched it, so it no longer worked) Cooking Battle in this game is tedious and you only need for Celia or achivement "Gourmand Hero", so to make it faster here is guide to win every cooking battle with easy.

I only cook this dishes to every Cooking Battle and win effortlessly.

Appetizer: Fried Egg.
Main Course: Omelete.
Dessert: Apple Cider Soda.

Not sure if there was a bugfix or not, but this barely worked for me. I won, don't get me wrong, but my scores were hella low. Just, the other guy's were even lower. I think the biggest number I saw was a 3. Maybe a 4.

It's such a shame. The cooking mini game in Suyikoden II was great! What with having to choose and provide the spices, you could change the dishes and have more options, plus, the cooking animations were better (or at least more animated in my nostalgic mind). Plus, Hai-Yo is hundreds of times better as a character than Kurtz. Still, it's only one minigame from a whole bunch of 'em, and if I remember correctly, it was added quite late, since it was a stretch goal.

It works because the mini-game is currently bugged. It judges all three courses as if they're appetizers.

This certainly seems to work. No idea why, the entire mini game makes no sense.
